He's Still Thinking About You

"Shen Lin left the country after a few years. I have no family in Yanbei. After that, I went back to Huabei City. After all, my old friends and classmates are still here."

Zhou Xia asked while peeling the garlic, "Why didn't you move back to our place? My parents are at home. You can look after each other and visit each other when you come back."

Wang Ruifang looked at Shen Lin who was standing at the kitchen door. "It's all because of that brat." 

Zhou Xia followed her line of sight. "Because of Shen Lin? What's wrong with him?"

"You two broke up. I'm afraid you'll both feel uncomfortable if I go back," Wang Ruifang explained. 

"Ah? Is it because of that?" Zhou Xia did not know whether to laugh or cry. "We're not kids anymore. Our family won't be involved in our relationship. Besides, Aunty, you're such a nice person. Ever since you left, my parents have been asking when you would move back in. They also said that your family's house hasn't been sold and that you're probably planning to come back later. I kept hoping. You really ended up coming back."

"I didn't move back on my own. It's Shen Lin's—" Shen Lin suddenly interrupted. "Stop talking. I'm starving." 

Wang Ruifang looked at him with a faint smile, but she didn't continue.

After Shen Lin turned around and left, Zhou Xia sneaked up to Wang Ruifang and asked her, "Did Shen Lin say that he's moving back?"

"That's right." Wang Ruifang also deliberately lowered her voice and whispered, "He was the one who handled the renovation of the house. He also found the renovation company himself. He didn't have time to watch over the workers, so he told me to go out and walk around more often if I have time."

Zhou Xia's heart beat faster. She could not control the smile that immediately appeared on her face.

Wang Ruifang looked at the door nervously. After she was sure that no one was there, she whispered into Zhou Xia's ear, "I think Shen Lin still misses you."

"I think so too."

Wang Ruifang looked at Zhou Xia in shock. "So have you done the deed yet?"

Zhou Xia suddenly reacted and quickly explained, "Aunty, no! No, don't misunderstand. I've encountered a very troublesome matter that I haven't settled yet, so I'm really not in the mood to date."

"Is it that tricky? Even Qin Huaichuan can't solve it?" Zhou Xia was surprised. "Do you already know?" 

Zhou Xia was worried that Qin Huaichuan would tell Wang Ruifang that she and Shen Lin were already married.

"Huaichuan told me that Shen Lin asked him to help you with the lawsuit. He also questioned if I knew you. I told him that we've known each other for many years. He even asked me to pay more attention to you two. He said that there's something going on between you and Shen Lin."

Zhou Xia could only mask her surprise with a chuckle. She did not know if she should be happy or not. 

Qin Huaichuan did not tell Wang Ruifang that she and Shen Lin had registered their marriage. However, he did say that there was 'something going on' between them. 

Zhou Xia was a little confused. When they met, she did not feel that Qin Huaichuan was untrustworthy.

Zhou Xia and Shen Lin had a grudge against each other. They were not enemies. It was only because they were neighbors, high school classmates, old friends, and the little friendship between them that they did not fall out with each other.

She did not know what Shen Lin was thinking about. But Zhou Xia knew it clearly. She had wronged Shen Lin too many times. She did not want to pretend that she did not care about Shen Lin. If Shen Lin wanted to take revenge, he could do it.

"How did you meet Shen Lin this time?" Wang Ruifang asked Zhou Xia.

"My mentor introduced Qin Huaichuan to me. He's the lawyer who will handle my case. Shen Lin was there when we met. That's how we met."

"I'm not talking about that." Wang Ruifang asked, "I mean, how did you meet each other for the first time within the two months since Shen Lin returned?"

"This…" Zhou Xia did not know how to answer Wang Ruifang. The first time they met was when Shen Lin came to propose to her in the middle of the night. He was drenched in the rain. It was Shen Lin who came to her first. 

If she told Wang Ruifang, the latter would definitely ask why Shen Lin came to Zhou Xia. Zhou Xia could not possibly tell Wang Ruifang that Shen Lin had asked her to get married and she had agreed to it.

"I just…happened to meet him." Zhou Xia kept what happened that night a secret. Instead, she used her second meeting with Shen Lin in the hospital as an excuse. "My ex-boyfriend is in the hospital. Shen Lin is his doctor."

Sure enough, when Wang Ruifang heard the word 'ex-boyfriend', her originally smiling expression immediately collapsed. "Xiaxia, are you still in contact with your ex-boyfriend?"

"Yes, Aunty. I'm going to sue him. I'm asking Qin Huaichuan for help because of this matter."
