Chapter 84 - Evil always wins

The King of Mirantella was a tall and beautiful man with grey white hair that gave him a very wise appearance.

He had won many battles and had a lot of victories under his belt. He had four children for whom he had already planned out their future. The eldest would become the next king, the second would be the knights commander, leading the army and acting as the kingdom's sword. His oldest daughter was already married to another kingdom, and his youngest daughter, Princess Amina, was supposed to marry the Prince of Arrentela at that time.

However, her failure to win the affection of the Prince, now the King, had caused great disappointment for the King of Mirantella.

"How could you fail to make the Prince fall for you?" the King asked Princess Amina, pacing back and forth in the guest room. Amina looked down at her hands, avoiding her father's gaze.

"It should have been a simple task for you," he continued, disappointment evident in his voice. "You have let me down."

Rahua's POV

As I stood before the bound form of Morgana, her plea echoing in my mind, I knew that I could not ignore her suffering. Despite the risks and consequences, I decided that I have to her release from her torment.

With my trembling hands, I took a deep breath and approached Morgana. I whispered words of comfort and reassurance, "it's okay, I don't want to hurt you. I am here to help you." I was trying to offer her a sense of peace and solace. Gently, I reached out and I tried release her from her bonds, trying to loosen her from the chains that bound her.

However I couldn't, I didn't know if was lacking of strength, power or even knowledge but I just couldn't.

The screams and whispers were unbearable.

I couldn't remember anything that could help me, undo her predicament. Even if I ran the story in my mind back and forth through all the side stories, there was nothing like this happening. Morgana name did appear in the original story, but there was nothing like this.

I do understand that story is already so far from its original,I need to find a way to solve this.

Once again I hear her plead, mixed with whispers, I wonder if everything is in my head her bound body is emotionless in front of me.

As I stood before Morgana, feeling helpless and lost in the face of her suffering, I knew that I had to find another way to help her. The whispers and pleas in my mind continued to echo, urging me to act, to find a solution to end her torment.

I took a step back, trying to clear my mind. I needed to think outside the box, to find a different approach to free Morgana from her bound state. Desperation and determination filled me as I searched for any clue or hint that could lead me to a solution.

"Rahua.. are you there? " I could hear a voice calling out to me. No it can't be that's Damion voice.

"Damion can you hear me?" I questioned, uncertain if he could, I don't think he can hear me.

I am stuck in this limbo with Morgana, I have to find a way out.

I closed my eyes and concentrated, trying to figure out how to make anything work. I grow frustrated.

"Ahhhhh" I scream in frustration. " The old man said that you needed me to set you free, you needed me. Now what???? " I feel like I am talking to a wall. She doesn't answer me back. "I don't know what to do, Morgana, I don't know how to save you. I am not the main lead, I am just a side character, I am just.." I'm just useless, I have always been.

I know better than to let my dark thoughts win me over, but they are still right.

I have never accomplished anything, I don't think I even deserved this new chance in life, but here I am fucking up things again.

I feel my body weighing me down, I descend down to my knees. I shouldn't be here.

"Rahua, wake up we need you." I laugh at the voice. I am not really needed it would make no difference if I was not here. Well the story wouldn't be this fucked up.

" Are you done feeling sorry for yourself?" A disdainful voice said.

"Who said that?" I was standing suddenly before Morgana's bound body. "Ahhh it's all in my head." I am sure of it. This twilight zone experience is getting annoying.

"Rahua Stronghold, Claire Smith.. whomever you choose to be you are going to still fail." As I look back I see it, myself wicked, dark version of myself.

"Ohh great I managed to materialize my dark thoughts." My tone full of sarcasm. Now it will be harder to ignore it.

But deep down, I knew that this dark version of myself was right. I had always been a failure, always falling short of expectations. But in this moment, I couldn't let that defeat me. I couldn't let my doubts and fears hold me back from trying to help Morgana, and leave this place.

I felt new surge of determination, I stood up and looked at the dark version of myself. "Maybe I am a failure, maybe I am weak. But that doesn't mean I can't try. I won't let you stop me from at least attempting to help her. Maybe if I just believe, if I just believe I can do it..." I grab Morgana's binds I channel all my positivity, I try to focus on all good things that happened to me in life my family, the friends, the person I love.

"I can do this!!" I scream. I feel a strong motivation channelling through me.

Nothing happens.

"Ahahahahahahah" my dark thoughts laugh at me. "This is so embarrassing, did you really think positive thinking was the key to solve all. Ahahhaha you are indeed useless."

"Maybe if I try again harder." I say preparing myself.

"Oh please, stop, you just giving me second hand embarrassment. Do you think Mages have been planning for centuries so, positive energy can win this battle..."

"Shut up, shut up. I.. need to focus. I need to get out of here."

"You never getting out of here being this useless, you are just a side character, you should have just limited yourself staying to the side. There's no power of positivity energy, no power of love..." She made a vomiting gesture to show her disdain for all of me.

"Enough!" I shouted, silencing the dark version of myself that had manifested before me. "I may not be the main character, I may have doubts and fears, I may be useless but I will be damned if I let you win today."

"Being brave is not the answer either." She retorted. "Evil always wins."

As I looked at the dark version of myself, I realized that she was right. Evil always wins, Morgana was stuck in a limbo prison because evil won, she was separated from her love with broken heart because evil won.

"Ahahahahahaha" I laugh at myself. I stand up, walking up to Morgana. "You are right, " I say looking back to my darkself. "you were always right about me, I just fought to hang on into an idea of me, that I wanted other people to have. I will start being selfish after today. Doing things for me, not for the others."

I take a deep breath " Morgana I will do things, your way," I say extending my hand to the side, where a dagger appeared in my hand. "I hope you'll find peace..."

"She's awake." Damion's voice greeted me, hugging me. I couldn't understand exactly what happened, but I felt safe in Damion's arm.

"It's over Grand Master..." I hear my younger sister voice.

"What is happening?" My eyes were still adjusting to the situation. As Damion was helping steady myself. We seemed to be out numbered.

When did Damion arrived, and why is Ceaser here? And Mr. Cirius? Saya? I...

I look at Morgana behind us still bound, I knew what I had to do to set her free.

"Damion? Give me your sword please."

He looks at me confused. "I will find you don't have to worry."

"Rahua?." I look at him pleading for his trust, they all look at me confused.

Reluctantly he places the heavy sword on my hand.

"Please trust me." I plead again.

"I trust you." With the sword in my, I could see the angry, desperate expression on their faces. I turn walking towards Morgana with all my strength I push the sword through her heart.

"You are free now," As the sword pierces her heart I hear gasp from all around me and her binds come undone.

"What have you done?" The Grand Master kneels. "Is this what you were defending Cirius? "

"You killed her, what did you do?" Cirius expression was terrifying, he looked sad, angry.

"She is free now, she is in peace." I said my hands trembling as push the sword out, and I sit down on the floor defeated by the events.
