Chapter 69- Dazed

Rahua's POV

I arrived the Palace, Loyd informed that Damion hadn't arrived, so I had time to take a bath. I had a talk with mother and father about all that had happened so far. They were extremely worried. They almost didn't want to let me comeback to the Palace.

I was happy to know that this parents cared about their daughters. My first time leaving home, on the other world I didn't meet any resistance from my real parents, it was like they were finally happy to do what they wanted to do. Which there's nothing wrong with it, but it felt like, they were finally free from me, and deep down that hurt.

I feel that here for the strongholds family has a different value. Even when Saya went to the mage tower, they were still trying to be sure if was something she wanted and that if she needed they would personally get her back. Even thought she would probably open a portal if she wanted to leave.

I immerse myself in water, the perfumed water, I feel like I could fall asleep any minute.

As I get up from the bath I feel sluggish, as if I could melt in anywhere. The maids help me to get dressed, and they brush my hair. I feel like my mind is dozing off.

"Is everything okay, Lady Rahua. " For the first time a maid called me Lady, I feel like I am dreaming.

I nod. I ask the maids to leave to rest. Even though that's what I asked I didn't feel tired of sleepy.

Before I knew my feets were taking me walking through the halls of the Palace, I hear whispers, as if a windy hush keeps leading me forward. I follow the enchanting sound, allowing it to guide me deeper into the heart of the Palace.

As I wander through the corridors, I notice the tapestries on the walls, depicting scenes from the kingdom's history. They seem to come alive, the figures shifting and moving as I pass by. It's as if the spirits of the past are trying to communicate with me, guiding me towards something, there's one particular scene that calls my attention, of a woman holding a knife to the heart of the king and the king to the womans heart. I wanted to stop but is like my body didn't listen and kept going.

Eventually, the whispers lead me to a grand staircase, its dark descent gave me the creeps as if it hid something scary down there.

As I come to face the darkness my instincts kicked in I wanted to turn back as if my body didn't listen. I step forward.

"Rahua!! " I turn to see Damion approaching, my feet suddenly stopped and my body felt like was under my control again.

"Damion!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms around him. He holds me tightly, feeling his warmth and his heartbeat against my chest, was enough to make me feel safe. It was a feeling of pure bliss, being in his arms.

"I've missed you," he whispers, his voice filled with both longing and relief.

"And I, you," I replied, my voice so soft and filled with love, that I barely recognized myself. "But I must confess, I was worried. Worried that you would get caught in the responsibilities and you wouldn't have time for me anymore." I say half joking.

He holds me at arm's length, looking into my eyes. "Never, Rahua. Never will I let anything or anyone come between us. You are my everything, and I will fight for our love until my last breath."

I blush at sudden confession and smile. "I... I please stop!! " I say feeling shy.

"What were you doing here?" Damion asks, his eyes filled with curiosity. To be honest, I wasn't even sure what just happened.

I look back at the dark starts, before answering. " Just walking around."

"I see." He says placing a kiss on my cheek.

"Stop, are you trying to make me blush to death." I say making him laugh.

As we walk back I notice that the tapestries that I had just passed looked different, the king that was once holding a knife against the woman and vice versa was now alone. Holding the sceptre and his crown.

Stood still for a second looking at the tapestry, was I dream walking or something?

"What happened?" Damion ask as I look that the image before me.

"I.. hmm I think .." say trying to make sense of what was in front of me.

He turns to face the same tapestry, looking up he smiles. "That's my grandfather 's father. They said live not very long but he was a bright King, he was supposed to great if he had lived long. I heard. " So that's Damion gran grandfather. Maybe I was just seeing things....

As I observe the tapestry better, his eyes looked sad, from other angels his expression looked serious.

"I think the maid put something in my bath water. " I whisper to myself.

"Did you say something? " Damion asks, I shake my head, and pull on his hand to keep walking.
