Fresher's day...

That boring program...

I knew that today is the most boring day. That's why I woke up late. I reached school very late. somebody told me that today the school's gate will be open for the whole day and that was true.

Lina might be practicing for her performance. Now, what should I do?

Ali walked towards me. She smiled at me. I got confused.

Lina rushed to me and said," Kaia, why're you late?"

"why?" I said.

"I thought you ain't coming and I am so nervous," she said.

"Don't worry ok?" I said.

I took a seat, the program has already begun. I saw a familiar face coming towards me and that's...Felix.

I met Felix on my first day at this school. He is a very humble person. He helped me very much on my first day.

He is our senior, one year ahead.

"hey, Kaia?" he called me. He still remembers my name. No doubt he is the topper of his class. He is very charming as well.

"hello senior," I immediately replied.

"Enjoying the program?" he asked.

I said, "yes,"

He sat next to me. My heart started to beat so fast that it can be heard outside.

"who is he?" a sound came from my back.

I was turning towards Felix so I turned around and saw A-vi was sitting next to me."ahh! you startled me," I said.

"I asked, who is he?" he said.

"oh, he is Felix, our senior. How don't you know about him? he is quite popular." I said.

"I mean, how do you know him? is he you friend?" he said.

what has happened to him? why is he behaving like that?

" yes, we are good friends," Felix said.

whooo, he said we are friends.

A-vi turned towards the stage and sat quietly.

Felix whispered" is he your boyfriend?"

"no, no, no. we are just friends. we became friends yesterday." I don't know why but I whispered too.

Lina's performance started. I cheered for her. She has good skill. she played the violin so nicely. Once I thought looking at A-vi that after this performance he may have a good feeling for lina. Is he impressed or not?

"if you wanted to see my face then why did you come to this auditorium?" A-vi said.

"oh, I was thinking something. I wasn't staring at you." I said.

"I have noticed that Kaia has this habit. she starts to stare at a thing if she is in deep thought." Felix said.

whooo! did he just say that he noticed me?

"I have never seen that," A-vi said.

"you just became friends with her, I mean yesterday. so, I believe that you have not noticed her very closely." Felix said.

A-vi looked at me with a cold glare.

what is happening here? why are they arguing on such a small matter?

Lina rushed towards me.

"slow down girl," Felix said.

"hello senior," lina said and looked at me. she was very worried.

"what happened? why do you look so worried?" I said

"Kaia, did you registered your name for this program?" she said.

I said no.

"but your name is there. After this performance of Ali's group it's your turn," she said.

"what? I never registered my name."

I recalled the weird thing that happened today and that was Ali's smile.

is it her work?

"you don't have time. what will you do?" lina was panicking?

"I will withdraw my name right now," I said.

"that's not possible because today our chief guest is a very reputed businessman of this city. Our chief obviously won't let anything go wrong so he has set the rule that participants can't withdraw their name at the last minute or be absent otherwise you have to pay a certain amount. This time it's $50000," Felix said.

(50000 dollars? I don't think nana will give me this amount without a reason.)

"wait, Kaia where are you going?"

I can't stay still like a loser. I can handle my matter on my own.

"excuse me, sir, I need your help."

I sang from my heart and soul. I sang without caring how I sounded. I sang to give a nice slap in the face of Ali. I sang to prove that I am not that hopeless. somewhere from the corner of my heart, I sang to impress my crush who was watching me or not I don't know.

I am happy that I did it.
