A few people walked forward.
They saw the young man with white hair chiseling away, occasionally stepping back to observe, as if he was drawing based on the mountain's contours. The image had distinct angles, making it unclear what he was creating.
But regardless of the subject, the chiseling sound was bearable; it didn't disturb others and didn't affect the people reading inside the library.
"Hey, what are you carving?" Lin Suyang asked curiously as he approached.
The white-haired young man smiled without saying a word, wearing an expression that seemed to say, "You'll find out soon enough."
Lin Suyang raised an eyebrow.
Hey! Keeping it mysterious, are you?
They looked for a while but couldn't figure out what he was carving. Although they couldn't make sense of it, the photographer from the publicity department still took a picture of the white-haired young man and stored it in the camera.
Back at the hotel, Lin Suyang and his team members huddled in the office, sorting materials. They were setting up an account on the travel literature website while figuring out how to promote the library.
Suddenly, a team member exclaimed, "Minister, come look at this!"
"What is it?"
Lin Suyang turned his head and saw the employee staring intently at the screen, as if there was something incredible there.
Leaning over, Lin Suyang saw a group photo on the computer screen. In the center stood the white-haired young man, with a huge colorful cliff in the background. At first glance, it looked like a typical tourist photo. But the news headline below shocked Lin Suyang completely.
The headline read: "Interview with New-Generation Rock Art Creator Hunter: A Wanderer—I Am Merely a Recorder of Scenery."
Lin Suyang's pupils shrank, "Zoom in on the photo!"
The employee quickly enlarged the image. Furthermore, they swiftly entered a name online, leading to pages filled with search results, all focused on the white-haired young man they saw during the day!
Studying abroad, young talent, traditional culture inheritor, rock art master...
Award after award and honor after honor dazzled Lin Suyang's eyes.
No one knew this rock art master's real name, but each of his works bore the name "Hunter" at the bottom.
"What kind of luck does our hotel have? We think of something, and it happens..." Lin Suyang muttered.
...
Over the next few days, Lin Suyang and his team visited Haiya Library early every day to observe. Besides the backpackers reading and working part-time in the library, the rock art master became their primary focus.
In just a few days, the previously barren cliff was now deeply and shallowly carved, with rough yet wild strokes. Even at night, the white-haired young man hung lights on nearby trees, chiseling tirelessly day and night.
While the rock art master continued his work, the official website and WeChat mini-program for "Haiya Library" progressed rapidly. Within a few days, the library had already spread across major university platforms, drama clubs, and literary societies. The beautiful natural environment, rich book collection, and unique travel experience subtly guided a trend in the academic circles. Every day, people inquired online and by phone about how to visit the library.
...
"Knock, knock, knock!"
"Come in!"
When Lin Suyang pushed open Chen Jianhai's door, he found Chen in the midst of a fierce battle with Xiao and Xu.
Curiously, Lin Suyang peeked over Chen's shoulder and saw the score: 0-18-3. It was tragic.
Lin Suyang looked deeply at the man in front of him. The way Chen played the game, turning it into such a mess, was truly something.
"Boss, we have a preliminary idea about the library," Lin Suyang ventured.
"Speak!" Chen Jianhai, with a darkened face, waited for his character to respawn while trash-talking the enemy, clearly enjoying himself.
Lin Suyang said, "The Haiya Library official website is up. Recently, a drama club called 'Wandering Time' contacted us. They want to organize a play here."
Chen Jianhai paused, looking up. "A play?"
"That's right," Lin Suyang continued, "We provide the venue for free, and they perform for free. There might be some tourists and spectators."
"I measured the space; our library can accommodate over thirty people. If we move the bookshelves on the first floor and use the spiral staircase as seats, we can create a small stage."
"We could even designate one day a month as 'Art Day,' hosting 10-12 events a year. During these events, we can sell exclusive drinks and snacks from the hotel to generate revenue."
As he spoke, Lin Suyang noticed Chen Jianhai's expression and quickly added, "Of course, it can also be free."
"After all, our library started as a free service, and we can continue to offer free drinks and snacks."
Chen Jianhai frowned, put down his phone, and asked, "Is it necessary to do all this?"
Lin Suyang was puzzled.
What does that mean? Not do what?
Chen Jianhai pondered and asked, "Can we skip these drama club events?"
"No drama... then poetry club events?" Lin Suyang, uncertain, suggested. But poetry and drama clubs weren't much different. Both were about organizing events and performances.
Chen Jianhai wanted to say something but shook his head, finding his own thoughts amusing.
His original intent for the Haiya Library was to create a library for the island's children and give tourists a pleasant surprise during their mountain climb, allowing them to work in exchange for accommodation. Hence, he had intentionally avoided any promotion for the library, hoping fewer people knew about it to preserve its simplicity.
However, as more tourists passed by, the library's fame spread. The recent Blue Coast Poetry Gathering had been a wake-up call.
Even if "Wandering Time" drama club didn't come today, tomorrow it could be the "Wandering Cat" poetry club or the "Wandering Coin" literary society. Over time, it would become harder to manage.
"Alright,"
After thinking for a while, Chen Jianhai decisively said:
"Agree to the drama club event, but limit such organized activities to four times a year and set high entry thresholds!"
Lin Suyang's lips twitched.
He finally understood. The boss didn't want the library to become too popular; he was trying to keep it low-key.
"Boss, I might have misunderstood..." Lin Suyang almost cried, "Our library's news has already spread across all major universities in Nanjing City. Many people are talking about coming here. What should we do?"
"Should I put up a closure notice tonight?"
