Fate of a fool

I entered Lizette's chamber where she was briefing her subordinates with a new mission. I walked up to her table and leaned against one of the sides and looked at the subordinates.

"We will be busy, so, could you leave?" I told them.

"Huh? Maybe let me completely brief them about the mission first?" She was confused because its rare for me to show up unannounced.

"Too important plus whatever mission you're giving might become irrelevant. Believe me, it is too important so get up and we will go talk to his majesty about it and decide afterwards. I want you to join me on the mission."

"How important is it that number 4 and 5 both need to team up? Fine." She sighed and stood up. "You all can go home. It is getting late anyways." She said and the two of us made left the chamber going to throne room.

"I heard you defeated some knights in Grumania. What was that about?" She asked.

"I saw it spawning too many knights so I had to step in before things got out of control. These knights are from assembly where I was trapped. They are not... real...? I don't know how to explain but they are not spirits either. They're physical manifestation of the memories that are trapped in the assembly. They're now living and breathing knights but they can't age."

"Huh? Weird. This assembly needs to be investigated. We should send Ace and someone to deal with it considering the level of monsters in it."

I nodded.

"So, got to meet your girlfriend? It's interesting that she still wants to be associated with you." Lizette chuckled.

"Shut up!" I rolled my eyes. "But Kristine managed to win against Dhaarth. I'm wondering how strong she could get."

"Really? She must be strong. Anyways, did you book an appointment with his majesty? This is getting late." She looked outside the window of the hall we were walking through.

"Appointment? Nah."

"WHAT!? He will kill us if we disturb his sleep!"

"Trust me." I said as I opened the door to throne room. Everyone was cleaning the room and closing all the windows and locking them with magic and stuff. Basically apart from his majesty and maids, no one else was there.

Jeoma was there yawning and ready to hit the bed.

"Ascendants? What are they doing here at this time?" One of the maids whispered and soon the maids rushed out of the room.

"Lizzette and Kenji? This better be important." He said as he yawned again.

"I have extremely important information about the sinner. Allegedly, after the origin divided itself into five parts, a second outsider came who defeated the origin and took over the throne in heaven. This impersonator cursed humanity thousands over thousands of years ago when the sinner found out about the true nature of the heaven. This impersonator does not want anyone to know that it exists so... Did I...?" I stopped talking and covered my mouth. I played into fate.

This was the destiny I was scared of for so long. I didn't realize this but I spoke of this existence. I told others that it exists. The destruction I saw was because I was fooled?!

"Hey? Is everything okay?" Lizette asked. She looked concerned about me since I had started to sweat and feel hot. I didn't notice I was shaking too.

"I...I!!" I couldn't speak either so I gasped for air. I couldn't breath. My heart would not stop pumping blood at high speed. I felt like a fish out of water trying to hold onto its life. I fell onto ground trying to calm myself down as the future flashed before me once more.

...

I was in middle of destroyed capital. Knights from the assembly, monsters oozing of corruption and dead bodies occupied the landscape. I was then attacked by Kristine.

"Was this the only possible outcome?!" She cried as she drew out a sword.

"Yes. Your fate will be the same as that of our classmates." I said as I activated records of Azure.

"I didn't think you'd go this far." She charged towards me but I blocked her attack. She then used my arm to parry and land a kick on my face knocking me back.

"My war against destiny isn't yet over." I was about to charge the attack but everything went black.

...

"Kenji! Kenji!" Lizette was shaking me vigorously. "Wake up!"

"I'm up... stop..." I sat up holding my head. It hurts so bad.

"You fainted. Did something happen?" Jeoma asked.

"I saw into the future again. It was exactly the same. The world will be destroyed. The reason that king became the sinner was because he learned about this impersonator. He was the reason humanity was cursed and now I have done what he did and... I think I played into hands of destiny yet again."

"I see. This is in fact an invaluable information." Jeoma said as he pondered something.

"Anything else?" Lizette asked.

"Yes! Y'know how I have the ability to use stars of talents. There exists a constellation that can grant seven abilities and all are overpowered even individually. The sinner said water sovereign dragon possesses them."

"Water? Apus contains the water dragon's soul but the two are not the same. It lays dormant inside her so for now there may not be any possible way to learn about this constellation." Lizette said.

"Can't do anything except wait for her then. For the time being, I have another mission on mind. There are four more plants of the heavens. We must track them down and deal with them." I said.

"Any leads?"

"Not yet. Actually, none. Whether they're are alive or not, I don't know. But they're closest to heavens."

"Tomorrow, Ace and his team will go on expedition to the temple where you saw the sinner. Two of you will track down at least one of the plants. I'd say start with kingdom of Hughward. Since, water dragon was in body of a child from that kingdom, I would not be surprised if one of the plants is also in the same kingdom or at least has some ties to it." Jeoma said before leaving the throne room.

Lizette patted me on my back with a smile.

"Cheer up. We will stick with you through thick and thin. Come on, lets go out and lighten up the mood." She took my hand and took me to the city plaza. It was right after sun set but the city was bustling with crowds. The night sky glowed yellow from all the torches that lighten up the streets and the vendors stalls.

"I can't help but think about my fate. But... In the future I saw, I didn't see any of the ascendants. I'm scared that... That..." She pulled me closer.

"We won't die that easily." She chuckled. "We have our majesty and Captain as well. Also you're so strong. Everything will be alright. Everything's gonna be alright." Lizette said.

...

"WHAT THE ACTAUL FUCK!?" Liam tossed a vase onto the ground in fit of rage.

"That monster is becoming too strong." Varun said with an angry face.

"He thought he was so smug giving me a handicap. UGH! I hate it so much! he defeated me in one hit. And those knights!? What was wrong with them!? No matter how much we hit them, they wouldn't take any damage and then there came Kenji killing one of them them with one kick. Then he proceeded to kill all with one singular attack! What could've destroyed entire nation of Grumania easily, he killed in one attack. And that too effortlessly. It was like those city level enemies were insects to him." Jennie stomped around the room.

"Isn't it obvious...? he has given himself to evil side and received some hidden abilities. Also he kidnapped Kristine... What does he think he is?" James was just as angry.

"Somehow we have to kill him. We all have to group together and kill that man." Everyone agreed with Liam's proposal.
