I got summoned to another world as the apostle of god

kenji, a psychology student, never believed in existence of god. For him, Gods were merely ideas created by high society in past to keep commoners under their thumb. On one fateful day, his entire class was summoned to kingdom of Grumania. It was a kingdom corrupted by wrongful teachings by upper class about the Gods, something he hated. But during the summoning, he got held back by the real Gods who want him to correct the wrongs of this new fantasy world and gave him unimaginable power to do so.

Falling slowly

"Those bastards at the regulators... How is it possible that EVERY time something happens, somehow Kenji is always there?! How is it that he wins every goddamn time?!" James slammed the table. "I AM the HERO! I am the chosen one and yet that... THAT ass takes the center role!"

"What is his class anyways?" Jennie asked. "He wasn't even given a class and now all of a sudden he's the strongest?"

"I'm telling you! These regulators are on some demonic shit." As Varun said, a knight barged into the room where all the summoned ones were present.

"Kenji was slain by an unknown woman." He announced and almost everyone cheered for him.

"GREAT! Fantastic! Now we can finally deal with rest of the ascendants and stop their blasphemous acts." Joseph rejoiced.

"Of course! Weren't there thirteen? From what we were told, three are dead including Kenji. One was killed by Kristine, one died during the catastrophe in kingdom of Shulian and now Kenji is dead too. I've heard he was close to one woman... UGH!! Why is Kristine such a cuck and not leave his ass... Loyal to him till now." James growled.

"Who should we target next?" Jennie asked.

"Let's start from that guy who goes by the codename 'Professor'." James said.

...

At the HQ of the ascendants, the meeting was on-going with all ten members present.

"With Kenji, Ace and Sapphire's death, our team surely has lost a lot of its power. Professor... What of the Kalpataru?" Ezekiel, the number three, asked. He was leaning back on chair with no care in the world. He had his usual warm silver colored fur coat on even though it wasn't exactly cold. The coat completely covered his small stature.

"Currently, I am conducting some experiments on it. Because of that... godforsaken link... I'm having certain difficulties..." Professor, number eight, responded. He was wearing a black long coat with blue shirt and black pants underneath. His hair were done neatly and there was a soft smile on his face. An unmoving smile.

"If you need help with link then I can accompany you next time, professor." Charlotte, number two, smiled at him. "They wouldn't be much of a trouble for me."

"Let's see... But your majesty... I think having ten members might not be a good idea. Should we recruit more?" Verga, number five, asked. He was a man wearing black three piece with a pair of glasses. He looked like a businessman through and through.

"Don't you think you should consult other members too?" Lizette, the number four/five, interrupted. Her official position was number four but she refused to take the seat that once belonged to Kenji. "Also... Charlotte, if links aren't a problem to you then why did Kenji die?"

"Oh? At that time I was overwhelmed with sudden death of Ace." She shrugged. "I wasn't performing at my full potential because of emotion overload." She was definitely unconcerned with Kenji's death. There was probably no deeper meaning behind her actions than a simple act of betrayal.

"BULLSHIT!" Lizette jumped off her chair and slammed her palms on the table.

"Now now... the isn't the time to fight." A woman named Seraphina said, who was sitting on the chair of number six. "Anyways... seems like almost everyone is here..."

She looked around counting down from number one to number ten. The captain, Charlotte, Ezekiel, Lizette, Verga, Seraphina, Professor... oh? Seems like four are absent.

"Professor... Next you shall make your move and do not disappoint me." The king spoke.

"In your name, the king of the skies, I will seize authority from the Gods." Professor stood up and bowed before leaving the room.

...

"Aiyaya! Get up!" Leishu shook Kristine who had been depressed over Kenji's death for over a week now.

"Leave me be..." She pushed away Leishu.

"We don't have much time! Shulian is still unstable and we need help of a summoned one to calm down the public. People have faith in you because you're one of the chosen ones. Pretty please with cherry on top just one pubic appearance and then for sure you can stay cooped up in the room. Everything on me, okay?"

"You're being insensitive..."

"I know I know! That's why please please please! Everyone has lost their loved ones from the catastrophe so they need some sort of clarity on things. You just need to tell them that the water was used by corrupt aristocrats to blackmail the current king into submission but you and I unveiled the secret but it was already too late." Leishu begged her.

"That doesn't even make any sense... It is a blatant lie." Kristine looked at her with doubt in her mind.

"If YOU, a being chosen by Gods, said that they'll eat it up. They just need some sort of closure for this unprecedented calamity. Also we will execute the actual corrupt aristocrat anyways so no one to tell the public that we were lying. We can't tell them the truth... it's not like we know everything anyways. Kenji knew but now... he's gone."

"Fine..."

...

It had been a week since my supposed death. It wasn't anything normal because a link had 'killed' me. She made it so that my death would slowly become a fact that people would simply not question. I think there's more to her powers than being able to look through time. Now that everyone has forgotten me, it has given me a new idea. The eye of tryam is what we were after and given the catastrophe, it's safe to assume that weapon is still there hidden somewhere in that kingdom. It's best if I go for it. Right now my only goal is to gain as much power as possible in as little time as possible. Even if it means cheating, it is for the sake of Kristine and those who were wronged in the battle of Gods.

There are some new theories I have about the past and what had happened but it seems as though that woman was hiding a lot from me. I really need to find other three links and see who is hostile and who is not.

...

My journey to the eye of tryam came to a halt when I came across Dhaarth standing at the entrance door to the capital.

"A monster from void?!" He shouted and a bunch of soldiers quickly took their position. Under normal circumstances, Dhaarth would've identified me but now, he thinks I'm someone else. "Attack him! He is impersonating a human!"

"I should start wearing a mask." I sighed to myself before I charged at the soldiers. I no longer have to care much about human morality as long as I reach my end goal.

Dhaarth, you called my destiny unfair...? It is indeed unfair but as long as I live, I will continue to fight for a better future.
