Azviel stretched out his feathery black wings and cracked his neck a few times. "Ah...I haven't felt this refreshed in a while."
Sile started stumbling back. "Wha- Your name tag changed! Demon King Boss, and your level is unknown???" He started shaking, his grip on his sword loosening.
Azviel yawned and stretched out his wings once more. "I haven't flown in ever since the dungeon became cramped with corpses. I wonder what it'll feel like flying in the sky!"
The Players in the room all started trying to run out.
"AHHH! LET ME OUT!"
"WHY IS THERE A DUNGEON BOSS HERE?!"
Azviel waved his hand and a wall of black fire covered the door. "Oh come on~ Don't run away! Weren't you the ones who were calling me weak in the first place?"
Elio turned back and kneeled, shaking. "D-Demon K-King Boss! P-Please forgive this h-humble servant for insulting you!"
Azviel waved his hand and his sword sliced through his neck, cleanly. "Nah~ You would be better dead!"
Sile was now pale. "B-But I thought that the two-hundred year old dungeon was cleared! W-What is the boss doing here?!"
Azviel turned his sword in a scythe. "What am I doing here? I wanted to escape and I came out here obviously!" He had a bloody smile on his face.
Sile started shaking even more and a small puddle of liquid dripped from between his legs. He dropped his sword to the ground.
Azviel frowned. "You're so scared? Where did your earlier bravado go?"
Sile turned white and couldn't keep his eyes on Azviel. "P-Please spare me!"
Azviel picked up Sile by the throat. "Now you're asking for forgiveness? Why are all Players like this? C'mon! Give me a good fight!"
He snapped Sile's throat and the screaming turned up even louder. Azviel yawned. "Everyone, stop yelling! The room is soundproof! It's only bothering me!"
Some people started picking up weapons. "C'mon! There are more than ten Players here! If we all try together, we can beat him!"
The Players nodded. "Yeah! Let's fight him!"
Azviel grinned at the sight of the people holding weapons. "Now THAT'S more like it!" He swung his scythe once, then twice, each time leaving behind a trail of black flames. The Players all died leaving only two people behind.
They were shaking as they held up their weapons.
"N-No! I d-don't want to die! My daughter is waiting for me at home!"
The man jumped at Azviel with his axe, and he instantly died from a slash. Azviel licked a bit of the blood off of his blade. "My apologies to your family."
The remaining girl started kneeling. "N-No! I'll do anything you say! Just d-don't kill me!"
Azviel grinned. "Anything? Then kill yourself. I won't kill you, if you kill yourself~" The girl's hand shook as she backed against the wall. "No!"
He sliced down, separating the girl's head from her body. Azviel sighed. "That was anticlimactic. I think the cloak I was wearing hides my name tag and my level. That's useful."
He picked up his cloak and then flew straight through the roof of the room. Azviel unfurled his wings as he zoomed above the city. The wind brushed against his wings, waking him up. "So this is what it feels like to fly..." He flapped them back and forth as he stared down at the city.
Azviel smiled as the wind ruffled through his black hair and wings. "It's quite beautiful compared to the bloody dungeon I was in for two hundred years..." He dove down towards the edge of the city. Wind pushed as his face as he laughed. "Hah! This really feels nice!"
He landed on the floor and draped his cloak back on. "Oops...I have blood all over me. Luckily there's this tree here, so no one saw that I landed here."
Azviel stretched himself out again and formed a mask from his black fire. He placed it over his own face. "It won't be good to be recognized~ I got some money from the Players back at the Player's Guild, so let me just buy myself some food first! God, I'm starving!" He hurried off to go back into the city to buy himself something to eat.
~~~~~
Alicat Leigh burst into the Player's Guild main lobby. "What happened?!"
A girl wearing a green uniform bowed with tears in her eyes. "Princess Alicat...The examinees have all been killed! Their corpses are unrecognizable!"
Alicat turned to the assessment hall. "What about Administrator Ashwyn? Is he fine?"
The girl shook her head and tears fell onto the ground. "A-Ashwyn is-"
Alicat placed her hands on the girl's shoulder. "Calm down. I'm going into the assessment hall." She started walking towards the room with blood coming from it. With a big push of her hands, the doors flung open.
She stumbled as she saw all the corpses lining the walls. Blood splattered everywhere and there were burn marks. Most people had their heads cut off.
Alicat walked over the corpses and looked around. "Who...Who did this?" The girl shrugged. "P-Princess, we cannot find the culprit since the corpses were so badly burnt. However, t-there is a hole in the ceiling, so they escaped by air."
Alicat clenched her fist. She called out to the bodyguards that were following her. "Men! Spread out and look for clues!"
She walked around the room as her bodyguards looked at the bodies. Alicat heard one of them call to her. "Your Highness, I have found something." She immediately walked over to him and saw him holding a black feather.
Alicat took it from his hand. "A black feather? Was there a raven or a crow?" She held the silky feather in her hand and looked up. "I'll find the person who killed everyone here." She then crumpled the black feather in her hand.
