Chapter 54: New Bending!

After coming back, Tsuna found himself in his room.

He looked outside, noticing the darkness enveloping the horizon, and realized it was late at night.

"Finally, I get to sleep in my own bed..."

Tsuna muttered, glancing at his bed before immediately collapsing onto it, exhausted.

The next day, Tsuna woke up early for his morning run.

He ran toward the west side of Tokyo, finding himself in a lush, green area, far from the bustling city. He had been running for nearly four hours to reach this peaceful spot.

"Great, seems like no one comes here today..."

He opened his eyes, a smile gracing his face, before sitting down in a lotus position.

"Phew..."

Tsuna took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began meditating, circulating his energy through his cardiovascular system.

He had to harness his chi to bend things, which was essential for connecting with the Earth.

In similar terms, chi was the physical energy in the Ninja World, one half of what was needed to form chakra.

It was a catalyst that allowed him to connect and understand the Earth.

With each reward, Tsuna could feel the quality of his chi slowly becoming purer, which allowed him to connect more deeply with the earth.

"And this flow..."

Tsuna could roughly sense a different type of energy steadily increasing as the Seed of Chakra he received seemed to have connected his chi with spiritual energy.

His chakra!

"Hmm, it somehow doesn't overwhelm me..."

Tsuna sighed in relief at this discovery.

He had thought that the chakra he just received would be unstable due to an imbalance between his chi and spiritual energy.

But he noticed his chakra was moving as smoothly as it should.

"I guess it has something to do with my reincarnation..."

That could be the only reason his spiritual energy was able to maintain the balance; otherwise, he'd be in trouble.

Tsuna couldn't help but recall the giant library that resided in his subconscious mind and realized it might not be as simple as it looked.

"Something that stores both my past lives and the present..."

It was puzzling, but it shouldn't be something bad since its creation was triggered by him.

Tsuna shook his head and opened his eyes. "I guess I don't have to worry about my body breaking down from all of these powers..."

The system, whoever gave it to him, seemed to have considered everything. Tsuna's eyes flashed with thought as he recalled the creature he considered an angel during his reincarnation.

"Now, most importantly..."

Tsuna raised his hand and channeled his physical energy through his feet into the earth, raising a boulder into the air.

As he moved his finger, the boulder transformed into a spear.

"It's similar to what I had before but..."

Tsuna furrowed his eyebrows. He felt there was something more to it. He could shape the earth as he wished, and he could move it as he wanted.

But what more was there?

"Hmm?"

His eyes widened suddenly as he closed them, focusing to strengthen the connection.

With a gripping motion, the spear seemed to vibrate, a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead.

"Phew..."

Tsuna exhaled deeply, opening his eyes to see the spear remained unchanged.

He waved his hand, and it flew into his grasp.

"It's heavier."

A flash of realization crossed Tsuna's eyes.

He could now adjust the mass!

With this discovery, he immediately thought of a way to utilize it. He made the spear levitate once again and lightened the mass before sharply swinging it toward a tree.

The spear flew toward it, piercing through the tree before hitting the rock far behind it.

BOOM!

A loud crashing sound reverberated across the forest, surprising Tsuna.

"This... could be a deadly weapon..."

He lightened the mass, making it fly easier before making it heavier upon impact, causing a disastrous effect.

The best part was that he was quite sure he could do the same with metal.

"I can now connect with the earth's mass and bend it, huh?"

Tsuna muttered to himself, deep in thought as the breeze gently tousled his hair. He looked at the impact he'd just made and continued, "Then... what if..."

He closed his eyes, took a wide stance, and moved his arms in a flowing motion before clapping them together. Sweat immediately poured from his skin, drenching his clothes as he felt reverberations across the small area with him at the center.

Suddenly, everything went still.

Tsuna stood in the same position for a while, an odd sight as he sweated profusely.

However...

"...!"

Like a switch being flipped, the small area with him at the center suddenly shook.

The old leaves, branches, butterflies in the air, and even Tsuna himself were pulled toward the ground as if being grabbed by an invisible hand.

"I... can now bend gravity?"

This was his last thought as the toll of using his bending, combined with his already depleted stamina, was too much.

His vision darkened, and he collapsed.

The forest had fallen silent as the sun slowly moved across the horizon.

"Ugh..."

Tsuna was peacefully drifting to sleep in the middle of the disoriented woods, suddenly fluttering his eyes open.

"Why does my body feel so heavy?"

He muttered, realizing he was still wearing the weight straps he had brought from Konoha.

Slowly standing up, Tsuna glanced at his watch to check the time, "Hmm, I fell asleep for three hours, huh?"

"Still... Gravity Bending, huh? Quite a fancy power..."

He turned to look at the slightly messed-up forest in a circular range around him, a happy grin spreading across his face.

However, Tsuna knew he still had a lot to do before he could fully utilize this new ability. Just messing up the small range of area had been quite taxing on his body.

"Alright, I gotta run faster then..."

He had a restaurant to open, after all.

He couldn't be late!

"Eh? This should be his restaurant, right?"

A girl's voice echoed down the small alleyway where Tsuna's restaurant was located. She blinked in confusion before looking at the golden plaque that read "Ito's Golden Fried Rice."

"He should be open for business today, though," she mumbled.

"Who's gonna carry the boat!"

A loud shout echoed as the teenager turned her head, spotting Tsuna running toward her, drenched in sweat.

She unconsciously licked her lips and smiled, "There he is..."

"Hmm?"

Tsuna stopped shouting as he noticed the red-haired beauty in front of him, "Rindo-senpai?"

"Kekeke, hello there, Tsuna!"

Rindo waved excitedly as Tsuna finally reached the restaurant. He shook his head and asked, "What's up? Why did you come here?"

"Eh, are you not welcoming me?"

She replied, putting on a pitiful expression.

Tsuna lightly tapped her head, prompting her to exaggerate a painful sound, "Ouch! That hurts!"

"Stop the cap. Just tell me why you're here. I'm sure you're not idle enough to just randomly drop by..."

"Ehehe, as expected of my junior!"

Rindo looked smug as she pulled out a letter stamped by the Elite Ten Councils. She explained, "I'm here to deliver this letter. It's about the preliminaries round. Your cooking theme is curry..."

"...Why do you have to tell me that?"

Tsuna felt speechless, staring at Rindo's smug expression.

What's the point of giving him the letter if she's just going to explain it verbally?

"Well, it's nothing important anyway..."

Rindo shrugged it off, crossing her arms over her chest. Her eyes narrowed mischievously, making Tsuna slightly on guard.

She chuckled at his response and continued, "The most important part is... our club is going to start our first round of Interhigh preliminaries! That's why I came here!"

"...Ah, right..."

Tsuna blinked, momentarily confused, before he recalled that he was indeed part of Rindo's club.

He then asked, "When do we have our first round?"

"This week!"

"...And you're just telling me this now?"

Tsuna facepalmed, sighing before opening the restaurant and then closing it immediately, leaving Rindo outside.

Rindo blinked in confusion, "Wait, what? Let me in! I thought you were opening the restaurant. Cook me something!"

"Shut up, you're going to annoy the neighbors..."

Tsuna's voice came from within, "...I'll open it tonight, but you're banned for today!"

"Ehh!! Why!!"

Rindo pouted, loudly complaining, "What about the letter? You need it!"

"You already told me what's written in it, you dumbass..."

"Arghhh!!! Tsuna, you idiot!"
