Seth just nodded unsurely.
They went up to the receptionist at the front desk.
Chris gave a warm smile which caused her to blush. "Hello. We're here to see Ms. Leyton in HR," he said in his most proper English.
"Ah yes. Let me check," she said.
After typing away for a moment she looked back up at him. "It seems you're in luck. She hasn't left for lunch yet," she informed him.
Seth was just kind of standing around awkwardly as he had no clue what he had to do with any of this or why Chris had even brought him here for this.
It didn't take long to get a meeting with Ms. Leyton. She was just one of the bottom level employees in the HR department so her schedule was relatively open.
They were brought to a meeting room and a few minutes a modestly dressed young lady with long black hair and bangs covering her forehead walked in. A thing necklace with a small cross was hanging from her neck.

"Excuse me, they said you needed to meet me," she said.
Chris smiled. "Ah a pleasure to meet you Ms. Leyton," he said.
She politely nodded, but kept her distance. "So how can I help you?" she asked.
"We will only need a moment 0f your time. Let me introduce ourselves first though. I'm Chris and this here is Seth," he said gesturing towards Seth.
She smiled politely. "Nice to meet you both, you can call me Rachel," she said.
It seemed she was warming up at least a little. Chris was sure she would be far less accommodating if she knew Seth was a drug dealer and that he was currently attending community service under the guise of a young offender.
"So my and my partner here had a few questions. During the storm this morning did anything out of the ordinary happen?" he asked.
She looked between the two of them nervously.
Chris smiled warmly. "Take your time Rachel," he assured her.
She nodded. "T-this is going to sound strange," she said.
Chris nodded to spur her on.
"I know this is going to sound crazy, but I-I was hit by lightning. I don- I don't have any injuries though," she said nervously.
Chris put his hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to be worried Rachel. You're not the only one that has reported something like that happening. I'm just glad to hear you're feeling ok though," he said.
She nodded thoughtfully and looked at his hand on her shoulder, but before she could say anything he had already removed it. "Ok so we only need one other thing," he said beckoning over Seth.
"Now if you don't mind, could you show me your hand Rachel?" he asked.
She looked confused, but raised her hand.
He took Rachel's hand in one hand and Seth's in the other then put them together.
Chris then took Seth's free hand. "Ok Seth, just think about taking something from her and giving to me. Don't think about anything else," he told him.
Seth looked confused, but did as he was told and before Rachel could recover from her confusion all three of them suddenly started shining. Seth seemed to be having some kind of seizure as his head snapped back and his entire body stiffened. The light seemed to travel from Rachel through Seth and into Chris. Rachel dimmed noticeably first before the other two did until everything seemed to return to normal.
"W-what the hell was that?" she asked in a panic not even realising she had cursed.
Chris looked at her with a smirk that made her nervous. He was very excited to try something. With a strong intent to change her mind he said: "Rachel, nothing happened. We just offered you a job which you declined," he told her.
Rachel eyes seemed to dim for a moment before she blinked her eyes a few times and suddenly the panic seemed to drain from her face. "Y-yes... yes that's right. Sorry about that. How embarrassing. I've just had quite the day," she said.
Chris' smirk grew even wider. He had actually succeeded. Even if he didn't figure out his own power yet he now had Rachel's power of Suggestion. Allowing him to influence people through a combination of intent and speech. Not only was her power useful, but more importantly she had turned into an antagonist using her powers on anyone she disapproved of on moral and religious grounds. There was no way he was going to risk her learning about her power and possibly using it on him down the line so he used Seth to take her power instead.
"Well Ms. Leyton, although it saddens me that you declined I would like to thank you for your time anyway," he said.
She smiled. "Thank you. I hope you both have a blessed day," she said.
He nodded. "And you as well," he said.
Chris pulled the still dazed and confused Seth after him.
When they got outside of the office building Seth finally seemed to snap out of it. "What the fuck just happened?" he asked.
Chris looked at him nonchalantly. "Just what I hired you for," he said.
Seth grabbed his shoulder. "That's not going to cut it," he said.
Chris glanced back at him. His look told Seth he couldn't care less. "What? You want out? I can take this duffle bag and just leave if you want," he said lifting the duffle bag, bluffing Seth.
Seth looked troubled. His eyes darted between the duffle bag and Chris. He could just walk away. Should he though? He hadn't been doing great business lately and what little he did earn went to alcohol to numb the pain. The small amount he had saved up before Shannon's overdose was running out. Although strange nothing dangerous had happened and he could use some easy money.
Eventually he let out a laboured sigh. "A-alright, what now?" he asked unsurely.
Chris smirked. "And now we go to meet our next target," he said.
