The sounds of crickets hiding in different places and wild animals from distance can be heard.
The moon shunned the surface of the earth, providing lights for living and nonliving things.
Prince Gen was unable to sleep. He was suffocating with anger inside his chamber. Even when the weather was cold.
He was having a restless mind. Wondering what his bride will think about him.
"I never meant to treat her in that manner. What came over me? No, I can't believe that I did that. I wouldn't have yelled at her." Prince cried out as tears rolled down his cheeks.
This is what he has been praying not to happen in his marriage. Here he is, crying for hurting her.
Prince Gen weakly leaned his head on the wall as his mind recalled back what happened. He wasn't in his right senses.
No one was there to comfort his soul. He intended to go to his mistress, but no, he didn't go to her, and neither did he stay with his wife.
"No…!!" He cried out as he forcefully punched the wall with his fist. Blood was gushing out, but he never minded it.
Prince Gen continuously punched the wall and hit his forehead on the wall at the same time.
If not for the wall bricks being professionally laid, it would have cracked or collapsed. Almost all the guards were asleep and no one could have heard him. Other guards at the castle gate weren't sleeping.
Despite that, they weren't hearing him because they weren't paying attention to what was happening in his chamber. Their minds were focused on the gate, rather than his chamber.
Besides, the gate was a distance far away from his chamber. Only a rabbit could have heard the dim sound coming out there.
Prince Gen got out of his chamber as blood spilled on the floor. He walked down to the garden, feeling exhausted. A ten-year-old boy can defeat him if he were to use his remaining strength and fight.
"I-I won't blame h-her for treating me bad t-the way she did. S-she never wanted to marry me in the first place." He stammered and sniffs along.
He dragged his feet to the garden. On reaching the garden, he fell to the ground, heavily panting.
"H-help… H-help…" he whispered, but no one was closed by. Prince Gen was crying out in agony. His hands and forehead weren't hurt when he was punching the wall, but now, he was facing hell.
A guard almost sighted him, but Prince Gen's body figure wasn't clear to the guard, who was also feeling sleepy and dizzy.
After calling for 'help' for a long time, but no one showed up, he became breathless and lay still on the carpet grass.
Blood flowed down the grassy ground like a stream.
Princess Fen was also passing through the same challenge as she paced up and down in Shu's room. Shu was trying to render help, but how?
"You and I know that what he did to you wasn't good. Yet, you're here worried over him." Shu angrily said when she was tired of comforting the princess.
" Shu, you won't understand. He didn't do anything wrong, I'm the one at fault here, and not him. Why can't you understand a simple explanation." Princess yelled as she glared at Shu inside the dark room with dim candlelight.
"Ohh, I see. You're at fault and yet, you didn't apologize, huh?"
"You are beginning to be annoyed. Don't forget that you're still my maid and not a blood sister. I want to avoid getting angry at you." Princess Fen warned in a low tone as she lowered her gaze.
"I'm sorry, My Lady. I was just speaking out of concern."
"Are you sure you are concerned at this time? You're meant to bring advice on how I would approach him and apologize, instead, you're…"
"My Lady, you don't have to be this furious. Trust me, the only person he would be thinking about now is his mistress and no one else." Shu cut in.
" That's the main reason why I should apologize and begin to give in to whatever he wants."
" Oh, really? Weren't you the same person who said you need some space? Will you be able to endure the pain now?" Shu asked mockingly.
"Watch your tongue. Are you trying to mock me or what?"
" I'm sorry, My Lady."
" You're sorry. You keep on saying it like a song.
The room went silent. Princess Fen was glaring at Shu and on the other hand, Shu's gaze was fixed on the ground.
After a few minutes, Shu finally managed to speak, saying," My Lady, it's very late. Can we go to bed, please?"
" No, I won't. Besides, I'm not feeling sleepy. My mature concern now is on His Highness and nothing else." She answered with a pale face.
"Well, I can't ignore my sleep anymore. I think I need to lay down my head on the bed before morning."
" I'm not holding you. You can go ahead."
" Aren't you joining me?" Shu asked, but Princess Fen gave her deaf ears.
"My Lady, you didn't answer me."
"Silence is the best answer. I don't know what I have done to you to deserve this disappointment. I brought you here so that you can support or advise me in every decision I take, but no, I'm seeing the opposite."
"My Lady, you're making me look like a bad person, which isn't fair. You're not speaking well about me. I-I have given you the possible advice I could render. What now?"
Shu spoke with teary eyes.
" Hmph…" Princess Fen sighed and said, "Shu, I appreciate every piece of your advice, but some of your advice is off from the problem. They don't seem to help issues."
" If that is the case, then I will amend my ways. For now, good night." Shu said without waiting for a reply and jumped on the bed.
"Dummy sleepy maid." Princess Fen jokingly cursed.
Her thought went back to how prince Gen. She wondered what and where he was at the moment.
"Did he purposely do this so that he could chase me out of the chamber or what? Maybe he doesn't want me to know that he was going to his mistress."
Princess Fen thought to herself.
After having different thoughts, she concluded to go to their chamber to check on him.
Immediately she held the knot of the door, something flashed through her mind.
"How will I manage to get to our chamber in this thick darkness? This should be tomorrow, I guess."
She lazily loosed her grip from the door.

The kingdom's cocks were crowing as early as 5am, and princess Fen woke up from her short sleep.
She squatted on the floor and leaned her back against the wall. Although she wanted to avoid sleeping, it later snatched her away.
Princess Fen quickly stood up and rushed to their chamber. Before she could climb the staircase, she could see the stain of blood on the ground.
Fear gripped her. She ran to their chamber with haste. Shockingly, the blood stain started in their room and no one was aware of it.
She entered the room, and she didn't see him inside. Princess Fen looked around until her eyes came in contact with the blood stain on the world.
Without delaying a minute, she traced the blood stain until she came to where he was lying breathless.
Princess Fen collapsed to the ground
