Team Mission

Walking toward the mission counter, Saber handed in the token to a female disciple who looked at him in disbelief as she then said.

"Even if you can kill a Golden Core, it does not mean that you are eligible for this mission!" Instantly after hearing her words, the surroundings quieted as they all gazed over in shock once realizing who this person was.

Everyone knew who Saber was but was unaware of how he looked. Thankfully the receptionist seemed to have recognized him, otherwise, they wouldn't be able to get to talk to this future Inner Sect disciple.

But, a cold and ruthless killing intent then permeated the air as Saber then released a golden aura that had a ting of dark blue in it. This act shocked every being inside the mission hall since such things should not be possible for a Spirit Foundation.

"Releasing energy!!! That...he is a Golden Core!" One of the surrounding disciples shouted out in alarm.

"And not just that...the blueish aura seems to be his already refined Sage's energy...it seems he has already begun preparing for Nascent Soul!!" Another followed up. Saber wasn't scared of them knowing since even if they wanted to cause him harm, he had confidence that no one in the Outer sect could stop him.

"Now, do I have the qualifications to sign up for this mission?!" Saber's cold and aloof voice resounded. The female disciple across the counter weakly nodded with a pale face and handed him a golden badge that had a man stabbed by a sword designed on it.

Saber accepted and then began heading toward the specific teleportation circle. As he appeared in the location of his circle, he was surprised to see the figures of three others standing. As he approached, he grew even more surprised by the fact that one of the figures seemed to be a certain cold and aloof cultivator that he had seen before.

Seeing the long white hair and creamy white skin, the blood-red eyes, and tender cherry red lips, Saber couldn't help but realize that he had not eaten in more than a month. If it wasn't for the fact that he had incredible body cultivation, he would be a skeleton by now. But, thinking of the soon-to-be future for this group of individuals, Saber felt a little satisfied and could hold in his hunger.

"Hey, aren't you that Saber guy who defeated the Golden Core realm cultivator?" One of the two figures that Saber had previously ignored, questioned Saber's identity with a clear surprised voice. Though Saber wanted to know how Adrianna was able to reach the Golden Core realm, he knew all questions would be answered once they are in his tummy, so he decided to play with them and answered the question by the pink-haired short loli in front of him.

"Yes, I am." Saber replied with a smile that caused the loli to blush. His actions seemed to have raised an eyebrow in Adrianna since she did not expect him to be such a person.

'It seemed that even if he acts cold and aloof, and is also ruthless to people who scheme behind his back, he still has the same lust as all other humans.' She thought, weirdly enough addressing Saber as a 'human' as if she wasn't one herself.

"But, I thought you were a Spirit Foundation cultivator?" Another human butted in. He was rather tall and had light brown skin with a bald head and long ears akin to a monk.

Saber again replied with a smile, while he replied politely. "Of course not, over two months I was lucky enough to enter the Golden Core Realm. Have a look for yourself." Saber said before releasing his Golden Core aura. Noticeably different from the time he unleashed it in the Mission Hall since it did not have the darkish-blue color in it.

"As expected of a true genius." The loli quickly replied with stars and reverence in her eyes. Saber merely let out a devilish smile that caused a slight trickle of blood to drip from the nose of the loli while Adrianna couldn't help but get a bad feeling when realizing that it wasn't just the female he was acting nice too.

"Well, since we have gotten to know each other, it's time to leave." The tall man said before throwing a handful of Spirit Stones in the holes on the teleportation circle. A bright light cover the group of four as they found themselves in an emptied-out town that was rather close to a cliff.

'It seems that we are slightly late.' Saber thought with a little sadness. He knew that the more upper dantians he could get his hands on is better, the death or disappearance of the town's people greatly saddened him.

"Damn it!!" The two human cultivators next to him did not take well to the sight as they both shouted out in anger while Adrianna remained indifferent in the back of the group. She instead kept her attention focused on Saber who she felt was going to do something that may cause her harm.

The teleportation circle was located at the gates of the small city as the group of four began to slowly walk toward the center. Throughout their journey, there were many detached heads of men and women alike as there were even children caught in the mess.

Anger filled the two minds of the loli and baldhead as even Saber felt intense anger. He couldn't believe such prey had already been killed, their upper dantians were now completely useless. He felt akin to how one feels when one's sibling takes the chicken leg before one could.

On the other hand, Adrianna gazed at such a scene with an impassive face as they all approached the center of the village. While walking deeper into the village, Saber had long sensed the energies that were secretly watching them from either inside the surrounding houses or on the rooftops.

'Hmm, interesting. So many people and they seem to all have high levels. No wonder they needed Golden Core disciples to do this.' Saber thought while trying to contort his face into a frown. How would it look if a wide smile forms on his face when he is surrounded by dead bodies of men, women, and children.

It would not look good in the mind of the two humans who were beaming with immense anger at this moment. As they walked deeper into the village, the scenes grew more brutal, some men were nailed to walls while pregnant women were stabbed to the walls only in their bellies where the babies were located. Their deaths were slow and filled with endless regrets.

'Such brutality, humans truly are fascinating to do this to their kind. Color me surprised!' Saber thought in his mind while approvingly nodding his head. Such actions were only seen by Adrianna though, not as if he cared since it was already too far from the teleportation circle.

If anyone tried to escape to the teleportation circle, he would have enough time to destroy it. As of right now, they were trapped inside the bandits' formation while the bandits themselves were trapped inside Saber's range of energy beam.

A trap within a trap was laid out as the group of four entered the largest building located in the middle of the city. It was probably the city's manor where the city lord stayed and eventually died in.
