1,000 Years (5)

Several hours had passed. During this time, a few golden immortals had fallen. A lone figure with a sword in one hand and obsidian black armor that covered his head to toe stood in the skies.

Though he was there, one could see him with their own eyes, it would still feel as if their eyes were playing tricks and he wasn't present. Near this armored figure were two other humanoid beings, one being a red-haired young man with handsome features and the other, a veiled female with a blue gem on her glabella carrying the bearing of a holy maiden...

Inside the battle armor which he had gotten from a golden immortal whom he had previously killed, Oblivion's night black orb glanced at Orion at his side as he then looked down to the earth below as he asked.

"So little..? I expected several thousand golden immortals, not a couple hundred... Talk about a letdown." Oblivion sighed in disappointment. Orion however, turned his attention to the people below who were being suppressed by the pressure that his body exerted.

"Several thousand golden immortals... Hehe, throughout the whole human race in your cosmos, they barely have enough golden immortals to reach ten thousand...Out of them all, how many do you think will bother to come to my Heavenly Mystic Domain to seek opportunities... Plus, inside the Inner region, golden immortals only make up one of the groups of people. There are also pseudo-Prime Immortals and Prime Immortals."

Hearing this, Oblivion was enlightened. "Well, anyway this should be enough..." After experiencing the life of Pure-Heart, Oblivion's understanding of his element continued to rise sharply with each kill as, if he'd have needed millions of steps to reach the Golden Immortal realm before, now, he merely needed around one million.

And with each golden immortal allowing him to take around 10,000 steps further and further into the path of nothingness, after annihilating the souls of these golden immortals below, he'd surely break through into the golden immortal realm.

Of course, this was merely one of the goals as the other was to refine his sword arts. Since the sword wasn't an element of the universe, he could also comprehend it and the deeper his insights into the sword, the stronger his sword arts, eventually this will lead to his strength to resist the mysterious force above the universe to a higher degree.

After ordering Orion as to what exactly he needed to do, Oblivion made his way down to the earth, under the confused, fearful, and wrathful gazes of the Golden Immortals present. Some of the weaker golden immortals were even kneeling under Orion's True Immortal pressure.

Tap!

Oblivion landed on the surface. As a profound immortal, it was simply to negate natural laws like sinking whilst standing on water. So simple that he didn't even realize that his battlefield was an endless ocean. The massive pressure of a True Immortal seemed to not affect the water at all.

Though the golden immortals felt the endless pressure exerted, the water below remained unmoving, showcasing Orion's perfect control over his power. It focused fully on the golden immortals as not even a fraction was exerted on the environment nearby.

Waving his hand and signaling to Orion, several golden immortals suddenly felt as if the pressure forcing them to remain still had simply dissipated. Confused, they assessed Oblivion with clear suspicion and apprehension in their eyes.

Seeing this, Oblivion smirked. Right after, a voice entered their ears. It reverberated in their surroundings as all golden immortals present heard it... "The task is simple. Once completed, you'll be set free from this. If you fail, you'll die!" Oblivion's voice was cold and lacked empathy.

Staring them down with detachment, Oblivion continued by saying. "Kill me... If you do such an act, you'll be set free. If you fail, you'll be killed by me hence, you've got no choice." He said with a frigid smirk etched onto his face. The golden immortals remained unmoving, seemingly shocked stiff for a while before...

Boom!

An explosion of aura suddenly sent shockwaves into the surroundings causing waves as high as thousands of meters to form. The shockwaves also rushed toward Oblivion's figure but were mysteriously dispersed by an unknown force.

At the same time, Oblivion's hair rose as his figure turned illusionary. The golden immortals who were unrestrained from the pressure of the True Immortal also followed as they disappeared from their location, turning into countless afterimages.

They had already reached in front of Oblivion, surrounding him before sending several attacks in an instant as Oblivion smirked. The sword in his hand released a gleam, swiping with power, and the incoming forces were torn apart in an instant.

The golden immortals seemed unbothered by this. Their figures mysteriously turned into a white mist that surprisingly obscured Oblivion's vision. As a profound immortal, no, any cultivator with strong enough strength would be unbothered by ordinary smoke...

"Illusion?"

Oblivion smirked. A powerful and peculiar force then burst forth from his body as the mist was instantly negated but the sight on the other side was shocking, to say the least. Surrounding Oblivion were tens of golden immortals all with strength at least in the third level.

One might not be much in the face of Oblivion's current killing techniques, but with tens of them, Oblivion would find it troublesome... "Illusion again?" Oblivion confusedly uttered. They couldn't be real beings seeing as they were exactly the same, in their appearance. So either illusions or...

Fwoosh!

Several attacks that seemed in sync with the other rushed toward Oblivion. Each strike was made with a different weapon as it released powerful beams of intent. These distinct intents created from different weapons seemed to merge into one intent that was many times more powerful than all others.

A chaotic intent rushed toward Oblivion. Seeing this, Oblivion's grip tightened on the hilt of his katana as his figure disappeared. In an instant, he left all beings shocked as he teleported to several kilometers away from the battle.

Boom!

The attacks collided with an unknown force that was exactly in the location Oblivion previously floated as from afar, Oblivion gazed down to the earth, well, water. Seeing several clones of the same person, Oblivion's figure rushed to the one person of familiar appearance but wasn't part of the attack...

{Sword of Oblivion}

The skies darkened as if the black hole capable of swallowing galaxies had seemingly appeared above their heads as any and all fragments of light were devoured in the process. The stream of darkness rushed toward the man who constantly released his golden immortal energy that flowed in the bodies of the clones.

Even as Oblivion's attacks rushed toward him he didn't give it more than a glance as at that moment, a figure appeared between the two. Standing in front of the true body of the creator of those clones, a young woman held a bottle in her hand that floated up into the skies.

Swoosh!

An incredible suction force then pulled anything in its surroundings into the mouth of the bottle. Oblivion watched on as his attack was instantly swallowed up by the bottle... immediately after, an even more shocking action took place.

The clones below were also sucked into the bottle and thereafter, a figure was spat out... This figure had similarities to the creator of those clones but, shockingly, his hair was white and his eyes were exactly like the eyes of a certain Oblivion...!
