CHAPTER THRITY-NINE
We walked back in awkward silence. Crickets. There was nothing more to be said. Or so I thought, until Levi spoke again. "I'll let you use me."
what? did I hear that right? I stared at him in disbelief, and Levi stared at me back. Uno reverse. And then, nervously, he added,"Did you forget how to speak? you said it wouldn't be anything bad, so…"
Oh. I get it now. Levi trusted me. "What woud you do if I asked you to jump off a cliff?" I asked slowly, a bit afraid of the answer. "Then I'd jump." Levi said, nonchalantly. You would? "And I'll wait for you too." Levi said, slowly. Really? Then that's all I needed to know.
"Thanks, Levi. But i dont want anything. Really." I said, smiling, and leaning forward to pat his head. Levi nodded.
