"Where am I? What is this place?" The situation started to squeeze me because I was just at my university graduation party. Did I really die in a car accident at the moment I thought I was finally going to start my life? This must be a joke.
While I was drowning in my thoughts, a voice echoed in my head:
"Calm down, child, this is Purgatory," it said.
How can I calm down? This is Purgatory, the endless void where our sins are judged after we die.
This must be a real joke. I lost myself in my thoughts in the endless void and after an unknown time, I finally pulled myself together. The person I assumed to be God seemed to understand this and started speaking:
"Now that you have calmed down, we can talk," said an old, wise voice. This voice scared me.
"Your death was not planned, and you died in an accident. Your soul went out of control in a way we did not want. You may not have realized how much time has passed, but you have actually been outside of Purgatory for a long time. It has been a long time. Approximately 95,000 years have passed and we barely found you," it said.
As soon as it said this, my whole life flashed before my eyes. I thought of my lover who loved me so much, my mother, my father, and my little sister. Why did it have to be me when I was about to be happy?
Then God spoke again:
"Since this is our fault, we offer you the right to make wishes for your next life. You have five wishes."
When I heard this, my face lit up and I said I wanted to return to my previous life.
God was surprised to hear this but calmly said:
"I cannot do that; I cannot send you back to your previous life. Even though there is a difference in the flow of time between Earth and Purgatory, several centuries have passed on Earth. If I turn back time, the order will be disrupted," it said.
When I realized there was no way for me to go back, I thought about my wishes.
"My first wish is to be born in the world of 'The Beginning After the End,'" I said. The real reason I said this was because it was a novel I loved reading. I didn't think too much about it.
"My second wish is to be Arthur Leywin's twin sibling," I said. Come on, who wouldn't want to be the twin sibling of the main character? I want to closely follow the life of that cool main character.
"My third wish is to be able to use all elements at the highest level," I said. When I said I wanted to closely follow the main character, I didn't want to say that I would be the one watching him from the shadows to avoid getting too hurt.
"My fourth wish is to have a body highly compatible with mana and aether," I said. I really don't want to face difficulties.
"My fifth and final wish is a training guide for everything," I said. I thought I was exaggerating, but surprisingly, there was no objection.
"Although these are excessive, you were a really good person in your previous life and your first wish is not too much, so I accept them," it said and I found myself in darkness.
When I opened my eyes, I heard a voice.
"Congratulations, madam, two healthy baby boys."
When my eyes fully opened, I saw a young man without a beard and a beautiful young woman in front of me.
