A transaction with Gerhart of Aelle 2

Apologies for the minor delay… enjoy reading.

****

The waiting hall wasn't far.

Gerhart briskly walked in and found Viz.

As Viz was the only conspicuous looking fellow here.

"Greetings Witcher. I heard you have books related to forbidden magic?"

Gerhart's eyes were sharp.

He noticed a huge package beside Viz.

As if affirming Gerhart's gaze, Viz patted the package, "Greetings, Mage. I do have books related to Necromancy and Goetia."

The package was opened, and thousands of books were revealed.

Unable to hold himself, Gerhart walked over.

Started examining the books.

Only to stop when he heard a cough from his lady-Servant peggy.

Viz smiled.

The more Gerhart was interested in his books, the more likely his transaction was going to be a success.

"I assume you would like a reward for them, witcher." Gerhart said.

He was back to his gracious bearing, as if the interest in the books was the past thing.

"Rather than a reward, I would like to have access to all the magical knowledge in Ban Ard academy for an entire week." Viz said.

But His words made Gerhart startle and speechless.

"It is absurd, witcher! You want me to give you access to 2 million books worth magical for a few thousand books?! change you condition."

Gerhart showed fury on his face; though, in reality, he wasn't a tad bit angry.

He has seen a fair share of absurd gimmick throughout his long life.

"It's a no deal, then. It seems I need to find another academy." Viz feigned a sigh as he started packaging the huge parcel.

Gerhart and lady-servant Peggy were dumfounded.

This witcher didn't know what negotiation means?

"How about we change the conditions?" Gerhart said.

Though he was flustered inside.

"No change, mage. All I need is the access for an entire week." Viz picked the huge parcel and started walking without looking back.

And before he reached the exit, Viz hear Gerhart's voice.

"Ok, damn it. I agree with your condition."

It was frustrating, as a powerful mage he could force Viz handover the books, but his bearings wouldn't allow it.

And he, Gerhart, didn't want to miss this opportunity.

He consoled himself.

What can a witcher do during the entire week?

Worse comes to worst. Even if he was divinely talented, all he could do was to read a hundred books worth dangerous magic.

And as a witcher, he himself couldn't use magic.

But what made Gerhart even more depressed was the grin on Viz's face.

"You already predicted I would agree to your absurd condition, witcher?"

"Demand and Supply, Mage."

"One can sell even a blank paper for a hefty sum, if they met conditions for demand and supply perfectly."

Viz put the parcel down, as he said.

"My books were rare, and you were exceedingly interested in them. You may not find any other chance to get them, but I may find other buyers for them."

Gerhat listened and agreed with Viz.

Once the conditions were accepted, the further details were smooth.

Viz handed over the books to Gerhart.

Gerhart provided Viz a quarter to stay in.

After a night's rest, the next morning, Viz went library.

Started reading books.

Though he was monitored by the sharp-looking nun outfit wearing servant-lady peggy.

Not minding her much, he did his business.

Throughout the entire week, he gained knowledge. No book was left, which he didn't read. He read even Gerhart's secret collection.

Now he finally understand what Chaos actually was.

Every mage has his own interpretation of Chaos.

There was no exact explanation for it, even an Aen Saevherne dare not define it.

It was confusing, but now, after gaining the knowledge, he was clear.

To Viz, Chos was energy stored in the spiritual dimension.

This energy was present everywhere, just like air was present everywhere.

Though space, water or earth weren't exception.

But this energy was in a different dimension from us which we live in.

However, this energy was accessible through ley lines.

These ley lines were a semi-physical state of chaos, and they were innumerable.

Intersecting with each other, forming a net of chaos throughout the entire world.

This was the reason some places have less magic power, and some place were concentrated with heavy magic power.

And if the intersection were many, it creates a power spot… well, you may be familiar with the 'place of power' in the game.

Chaos can exist in pure form, but its form was interchangeable because of some factors, which thus create elemental forms.

The factor can be oceans, volcanos, earth's mantle, etc.

It was also the reason water based magic was more potent in Skillege, because presence of oceans.

Now enough with the boring topic.

Back to Viz. When it comes to knowledge regarding magic, now he was second to none.

But Viz dare not say he was as knowledge as Sages or the Aen Saevherne and some powerful existence like the vampire elder, Master mirror and… the list can go on.

"Finally finished. Time to leave." Viz said as he closed the last book.

"but before that…" Viz channeled pure chaos towards his palm and conjured a magic crystal.

Then he voiced towards a random mage adept, "Mr adept, would you mind passing this magic crystal to Mage Gerhart?"

"m-Me?" the adept was confused, but soon agreed when Viz passed him a bottle of drink.

Viz left the academy.

on the way, he asked himself, "Am I being petty?"

"No, I am just justifying my actions." Viz said, but he was grinning devilishly.

During his stay, when he took an entire week reading… Viz not only learned, but he crisscrossed the knowledge and contemplated on it taking a sweet time.

Or else he could have studied all the 2 million books within less than a day.

But even so, his speed of reading was fast.

To the people present, it was a rapid flipping of pages.

When Gerhart knew about this, he came to the library and to know if Viz was using some kind of spell to copy the books.

But when Gerhart found Viz wasn't.

He looked at Viz like he was looking at an idiot.

And was the one wasting time doing incomprehensively action.

This ticked Viz, so he made a synthetical magic crystal to flaunt his knowledge to Gerhart.

Because Viz knew Gerhart was researching a way to make magic crystals. He took Years and had at to make one…

But he Viz just took a short time to create one!

See ya all next week!
