Luciana suddenly woke up.

The last thing she remembered was that she drank a pink potion, and then…

Nothing.

But for some reason she had a feeling that whatever happened afterwards was a pleasant experience.

And she also realized something else.

She had evolved.

All deviled ones, including tieflings, could potentially evolve into a higher rank.

After evolving, not only would the deviled one's physical, but also it's magical strength would rise exponentially.

But not all deviled ones could evolve.

That is why many of them resulted in worshipping daemons, the natural enemy of the gods, or sometimes even other dark gods.

By worshipping them and committing atrocities in their name, it was possible for them to get blessed by them. These beings could give them the necessary power to evolve.

But deviled ones aren't the only ones that worship them. Many humans for one reason or another decided to abandon their beliefs, and join the deviled ones.

All worshippers of the dark gods want one thing. They wish to become devils.

Becoming a devil, the deviled one would automatically become one of the most powerful beings on the planet. And all of their decendants would be automatically those of a noble family.

However, every power has a price, and not all worshippers of the dark powers could withstand such blessings.

If they didn't achieve the evolution a normal way, the outcome of the evolution could end in best case as dead.

If not, then the power would simply disfigure and then debilitate them, resulting in the worshipper becoming a mindless hulking bloodthirsty abomination made out of the corrupting magic of the dark forces and twisted flesh. Those beings existed for only one purpose. Kill as many mortals as possible and creating as much chaos as possible.

And for tieflings it was much, much harder to evolve.

Like all noble deviled one's, it was much harder for them to evolve compared to other deviled ones. But having a more purer bloodline gave them a natural advantage over the other.

If we were to put them in ranks, then the magical powerlevel of a rank 1 tiefling would easily overpower the magical power of a rank 3 deviled one, if that deviled one wasn't from a noble family.

However, if we were to put it into chances, then if a normal deviled one had a rough 50 procent of evolving into another rank, the chances of a tiefling evolving would only be twenty.

Funnily enough, non deviled one worshippers evolved even faster.

And after evolving, the chances of evolving again grew smaller and smaller.

The highest amount a deviled one could rank up was six times, and after which they could potentially become a devil.

Luciana's great great grandfather managed to become a devil, and got the title demon king.

He was the most powerful devil the world had ever seen, and only after the other gods put their disputes away did they manage to defeat him.

But that devil had children, and those children were then called tieflings.

Currently Luciana knew of only one person who managed to evolve five times.

It was her mother.

Her father also was once of the sixth rank, but his evolution failed, causing him to become one of the millions of healing abominations that caused chaos.

LLucianamay have only been around 46 years old, but compared to deviled ones this age was only that of a toddler.

But Luciana could still visibly see the atrocity running at her with a gaping mouth about to swallow it's daughter, if it weren't for her mother.

While being pregnant with another child, she defended her daughter with a ferocity any mother could, and by some miracle, managed to defeat the being that once was her husband and the father of her children.

She then used fire magic to utterly burn the being, hoping that this way she could let her husband rest in piece.

And so, Luciana decided to train.

Compared to her sister, she decided to become stronger her own way, not even trying to have anything to do with the dark gods and daemons.

And she managed to achieve rank three in just a few hundred years.

Her sister however was a rank five before she went into the crystal tomb.

Now however, Luciana could see that she was a rank four, after all those years.
