Chapter Two

John and I went into his cabin, John has a black leather almost complete circle chair with a dark wooden table in the middle. "Please sit down." John requested. I went to sit down in the chair then his wife showed up and sat with him. They sat right in front of me. "My wife and I have been thinking about your problem Jake, with being homeless and all." John mentioned "We are willing to let you live here as long as you're willing to help me as my apprentice for Werewolf Hunting." John offered me "Don't get me wrong I feel you're a werewolf hunter after the struggle you went through, but I need an Apprentice." John remarked. "I can help you." I accepted knowing that I am able to hunt Werewolves, plus I really can't afford to be homeless.

John got me my own room. It was just a bed empty closet and window with an air conditioner, and oddly enough a loudspeaker hooked up to the wall. I jumped right in the bed and passed out. I woke up in the morning and got breakfast then went into my routine, halfway through my routine I held the Gatlin gun and aimed it acting like I was firing it, then I put it away to avoid getting embarrassed in case John walked in. There was nothing as far as hunting went for that July.

One day on August John came in the shed "Are you still going through school?" John inquired "I go back to school the fifth." I informed John "okay how old are you and what grade are you in?" John wanted to know. "I am eighteen and a sophomore in High School." I told John "I plan on walking it is not far from here, I go to North Oak High School." I advised John "Long walk, you better not be late for school." John told me.

After August fifth High School was added to my routine, so now I go to school then reload bullets and clean John's guns when I don't have too much homework.

I met a woman at school today, whose name is Chrissie. She wears her brown hair in braided pigtails she also has blue eyes and stands four feet eleven inches I met this girl at lunch, she did not have enough lunch money for her lunch, so I paid for her lunch. Chrissie then went to sit with me at lunch. "Thank you for buying me lunch it was very sweet of you." Chrissie told me in a voice I find charming. Her voice has a high pitch but a smooth tone. "No problem." I remarked. "I really am grateful for it." Chrissie spoke to me then she slipped me a folded piece of paper discreetly. "Call me if you ever get lonely." Chrissie delighted me. "I will keep this close to my heart." I told her trying to sound poetic but ironically slipped her phone number in my jean pocket.

Later when I got home (John's House) I slipped her number at the foot of my mattress, then I went to reload bullets. John met up with me in the shed. "Get the Gatlin gun this is all we are going to need." I loaded up the Gatlin gun and we grabbed our revolvers. John also set up the pick-up truck mount, we both hooked up the Gatlin gun to the mount. "You better have good trigger discipline and hang on for dear life." John warned me. "We are going to hunt a twelve pack of Werewolves that have been terrorizing Salt Fork, Ohio. I am going to drive around them and you're going to shoot them." John briefed me on the plan. We drove all the way to Salt Fork National Park in Ohio. I enjoyed using the Gatlin gun and how it blew up the Werewolves into a puddle of flesh and blood.

The last Werewolf was a big problem. The Werewolf did not stay in one spot but moved in different directions a lot and bumped into the truck, I honestly did not know who the hunter was. If I had to pee, I would have out of fear. The Werewolf got behind the truck and tried to leap into the truck. I jumped on to the mount of the Gatlin gun and turned the Gatlin gun very fast then aimed it right at the air-born Werewolf. I shot a hole through his chest then he fell backwards and onto the ground. "How did you move that fast?" John sounded shocked. "I don't know adrenalin I guess; I was in fear for my life." I answered. "Well keep that up and you may out hunt me." John complemented me. "Thank you, I'll do my best." I told John. We both went home and arrived safely.

I went to school in the morning and really started to notice Chrissie a lot more, her and I have a few classes together. I sadly cannot sit beside her because our classes have assigned seats, but I do get to sit with her at lunch and if it was not for Chrissie, I would be alone during lunch. We enjoy each other's company, Chrissie and I spoke mostly about school and how our school day is going, we did not get personal in any conversation. After the school day was over.

John and I went through the routine we were reloading silver bullets. "How was your day at school? Did you meet anyone new?" John asked me "I met a young woman her name is Chrissie, she seems friendly." I answered, "Careful you never know what may get taken from you." John warned me. "What does that mean?" I felt baffled "You are a Werewolf Hunter. If Chrissie ever got bit you would have to hunt her, if a Werewolf is around, you two Chrissie may get in the way, or you may see her die before your very eyes." John told me. "It's okay if Chrissie and I started dating?" I asked mostly curious about his response. "I don't want your time with Chrissie, to get in the way of Werewolf hunting with me." John warns me. "Cool I don't plan on dating any time soon, I hardly know this girl." I informed John. "If you get this girl pregnant, you're out of this house and on your own." John warned scoldingly "I am not about to take somebody's baby daddy hunting with me." John informed me sounding angry. "John you won't have to worry about that." I promised.

John's phone began to ring. "I am going to take this call outside." John informed me. John walked out the door and came back in a few minutes. "Apparently someone that hung out with me in my Secret Service time discovered my phone number through some of his friends. He has been living off the grid for a long time, He was a Werewolf Hunter and has discovered that there is a monster around his camp, He thinks it is a Werewolf, but he is somewhat uncertain." John informed me. "I will have to go on this hunt on my own since you need to go to school, you keep going to school and taking care of my weapons while I am gone." John told me then left three days after that call.

I went through the routine when it came lunch time Chrissie and I got to hang out at lunch. "You have not called me yet; I would really like it if you called me." Chrissie sounded a little upset at me. "I am sorry I been very busy, I have a lot to do when I get home." I informed Chrissie. "Oh, so what are you doing when you get home?" Chrissie is curious "If I told you the truth you would believe me." I said to her "I work with automobiles with my dad." I lied to her. "Ooo you should work for a car shop, makes tons of money." Chrissie told me. "Hey, did you know the fair is opening in town? Maybe we could hang out there, does that sound fun?" Chrissie explained her idea for me. "Sounds like a good time I will see you there tomorrow." I agreed to her plan. "Tomorrow sounds good." Chrissie assured me. "I hope I get to go." I thought

I remember this day very vividly but when I got home, I walked up to Carrie Oakley "I wish I could go to the fair, do you think I will be called on by John for a hunt?" I asked Carrie "I don't think so, he is on a hunt." Carrie told me. Then she handed me sixty bucks for the fair. Carrie drove me to the fair and dropped me off, it has been two years since I went to the fair, Chrissie walked up to me once she spotted me at the front gate.

so the lay out is pretty simple all the food trucks and games a spread out through a circle then behind a gate is the fair event, and on the left facing into the event center is the grand stand which are a bunch of steel seats similar to a stadium at a high school football game but three times bigger. Chrissie and I both shared a blooming onion, a blooming onion is an onion cut to look like a flower then deep fried and the center is removed then replaced with a cup of ranch.

Chrissie and I went on a ride that is named Scat, the ride had two carts that spin on their own then move in circles, I was terrified screaming for my life. I felt like I was going to fly out of the ride, I was being lifted off the ground. The ride had small handrails connected to a chain going through a plastic tube. My grip was so strong that I broke off the handrail between Chrissie and I, Chrissie's face looked completely shocked. the ride slowed down did my best to show the operator the handrail, to which he got the controls to bring the cart back, Chrissie and I were kicked off the ride which was no problem since we did not want to get back on the ride anyway. We then got on a ride that was like a boat, it swung back and forth then got higher and higher, it almost swung us completely vertical. I would have gone on that ride again if Chrissie wanted to, but I did not enjoy that ride one bit. We also went on a heart shaped swing that we sat in a giant heart and got spined around. Then just before the day ended, we both went on the Ferris wheel.

"I got something to tell you, but I want to whisper it in your ear." Chrissie told me. I went in to listen to what she had to say, she grabbed my head, and we had our first kiss on the Ferris wheel. The fair closed, Chrissie and I left feeling like the happiest people in the world the kiss was amazing, I was in complete shock over it.
