The Eve Before The Ryoshi Inheritance Trial Within The Walls

<1 week later>

"You ready boy?" Nasuko asked his grandson who was currently within a medium-sized well designed shed built especially for changing as the boy in question went out wearing a combat suit made entirely of leather but the joints were made of stretchy leather in order to not hinder the user's movement while the rest were made of hard firm leather to serve as protection.

"Yes, Grandpa," Heishi said with a look of determination on his face but because he was still a 10-year-old boy, He looked half serious and half adorable.

Haha! Look at you, my little boy all grown up. It was like only 10 years and a week ago, you were just a wee baby who was still frowning while looking at daddy, now look at you! Frowning at your papa's old man instead, great job little monkey!" His father said. This father of his was Hoenn Ryoshi, the head mechanic and blacksmith of the Ryoshi family. He had a serious personality at work but when he's around his family, he would always show his silly side.

Upon hearing the word monkey, a picture appeared on his mind of a monkey in a suit once more but vanished in an instant. Heishi always wondered what was with that for it always happened when the word monkey was brought up in front of him before a mild headache occurs as if something in his mind wanted to break loose. The monkey he never met, he would ponder one in a while if he had actually met it before, like a memory from a distant past or maybe just a figment of his imagination...

"Stop it dear, you never learn do you? Do you want to be scolded by father again?" Heishi's mother, Arianne Ryoshi said with a look of worry but also chuckling at the same time for her husband's silly antics. Her personality was a caring one, she was a protective wife and mother but knows when to let them be free. In short, she was a wise tigress. That's right, she was caring and protective but she wasn't one anyone would dare cross for although she was the current user of the life titan, anyone who gets on her bad side would only find a harbinger of death instead.

Hearing her wife's warning, Hoenn looked at his father only to find the old man giving the stinky eye to him. 'Yep, I'm in for it now. Me and my mouth.' He thought inwardly while shivering and sweating all over.

Nasuko had a vein clearly protruding in his forehead as he walked over to his terrified son while crystals began forming on his hand shaping into a gauntlet.

"...Mercy." Heishi's father pleaded while looking for a helping hand but both his son and wife only threw pitying glances at him for they knew better than to try and stop the enraged monster of a man.

"Graaah!! Who are you calling an old man!?" The furious Nasuko said as steam was released from his body as he punched his son in the gut sending him flying into a house where he broke walls per walls until his body broke the final wall and crashed outside the house, lying in the ground in a sorry state.

"To dare call me an old man when I'm only 54, hmph your lucky you're my son or you won't live to see the next day," Nasuko said but clearly starting to cool off as the steam slowly receded and the crystal gauntlet he formed in his hand disappeared back into his body.

*Sigh* Was all Arianne could express as even she, a young tigress knew not to enrage the old dragon for the old man was a one-man army and was able to win a fight against 4 other titan shifters alone in combat.

<A Few Minutes Later>

Outside a passage that led downwards with a set of stairs was the entire direct Ryoshi family who was bidding farewell and good luck to Heishi before he would begin with his Coming Of Age Trial which will decide if he will be capable and worthy of receiving the Direct Ryoshi Lineage Inheritance.

Composing the medium-sized entourage were the newly healed Hoenn(father), the worried Arianne(mother), the encouraging Colline (mother in law and aunt (sister of Aria)), the wowed 7-year-old Kiryuu(blood brother in law and cousin(son of Colline)), the smiling Miyuki (2nd mother in law and aunt (cousin of Aria)), the proud 4-year-old Holly (blood sister in law and 2nd cousin(daughter of Miyuki)), and the confused Garou(absentminded best friend).

Yes, Heishi's father married his mother, her sister, and her cousin, and No! Hoenn and his wives are not blood-related.

"Your really cool big bro! And don't worry, even if you don't pass, two years from now I'll also take the trial and succeed it for you!" Kiryuu said amazed by the fact that his big brother would face the most difficult trial anyone in the family would face and confident that he would pass his own trial.

"Hey now! Don't jinx me you little brat!" Heishi half-jokingly scolded.

"Yeah! How dare you think big bro won't pass! He'll pass it for sure! It will be just like taking a walk for him, right big bro?" Holly said with a smug look as if it was her who would confidently undergo the trial.

"Alright, enough sweet talk. This not old dog can't take too much of this anymore I'm too past my prime for this crap." Nasuko said grumbling while still persisting that he just entered the late stages of the middle-aged.

"Yeeahh I still don't understand, what's going on?" Garou the confused was absentminded as usual.

And with their bidding of best wishes, Heishi and his grandfather went down the passage where a train car that was a mix of the old passenger cars and freight cars that were once used before they were replaced by metros instead. It looked similar to it but was modified to run pressurized gas instead of steam or petrol with huge tanks of pressurized gas on all four sides and 4 piston-powered harpoons below them.

As they entered the cart, Heishi noticed a sizable group of men entering through the back door led by a squad from the Ryoshi personal army. These men wore nothing but loincloths that covered only their private parts but despite so, instead of looking haggard, they all had looks of madness (both fury and insanity) or a look of desire to eat him which brought shivers on Heishi's spine.

"Who are those guys, grandpa?" Heishi asked to satisfy his curiosity to which Nasuko replied, "They are part of the obstacles you must face Heishi."

After replying, Nasuko led his grandson to the entrance at the front of the cart where he looked around and found that the back part which was wholly made of steel, and the front part made of wood and metal of the wagon was separated from each other by a metal wall.

Nasuko introduced their ride as the Extreme Horizontal Maneuvering Transport and explained that the back part was for loading and unloading luggage while the front was for passengers and the conductor. It used the same technology as the Omni-directional mobility gear but was designed to only move horizontally on a straight line, what it lacks in the ability to move vertically and diagonally as well it makes up for with its superbly superior speed no equipable gear could ever hope to match.

As Heishi relaxed on his seat, the conductor had fully prepared and went to the control room to start the machine.

"Best put on the straps, we don't want you flying around the cabin now would we?" His grandfather advised as he himself strapped himself to his seat, the straps strapped the chest and legs in place in an X.

Heishi of course followed the warning and hurriedly strapped himself just before the gears started quickly rotating as the gas was released sending the whole vehicle zooming out of sight within seconds and had the cart not been latched to the rail, it would've surely been sent flying.

And so, Heishi traveled along with his grandfather to the trial grounds. Their journey beginning from the small mountainous island in the middle of the coast of both Marleyan and Eldian territory, invisible to both due to the remnants of the power of the mind titan. Ending at the mountains just outside the forest within Wall Maria of Paradis Island.
