Scenario #3 - Plant And Survive! (II)

Meanwhile...

Alaine and Daniel stood in another section of the mall, facing their own wave of zombies.

— ROARRRR!

As the undead approached, the tension in the air increased with each second, their moans becoming more audible.

"Huff...! Alright, Daniel, take a deep breath." Daniel's voice trembled slightly.

He looked at Alaine, who appeared unaffected, and couldn't help but clench his fists. After they separated from Lucius, he realized how useless he truly was.

And that only made his frustration grow by every single second; Alaine would simply clear all the zombies before they could even approach him.

Even if he asked her to let him kill some zombies, she would simply shrug him off and say things like:

"You're too weak... Get stronger, and I'll let you kill them. I'm only doing this for your own good; what if you accidentally get bitten by a zombie or something?"

'I... I need to get stronger!' Daniel's eyes started glowing brightly as a panel suddenly popped right in front of him.

[The player's innate skill is awakening!]

'H-huh...?'

[The unique skill—"Hero's Reincarnation" has been awakened!]

Daniel immediately checked his status windows before proceeding to the details, where his eyes widened in shock.

It was absolutely insane.

In addition to receiving a bonus if he saved lives, his attributes would increase threefold if he battled against a "evil" identity!

"Stand back, Daniel. I'll deal with this myself." And then, Alaine's voice reached out to him, but this time, he wouldn't simply let her do the job.

Immediately, ignoring her words, Daniel gripped the sword on his hand and dashed towards the zombies before vertically swing his sword.

"Danie—!" Her voice stopped as she saw a bright golden aura enveloping his body.

'You've finally awakened...' Her lips instantly curled to a smile as she thought inwardly.

After all, making Daniel feel as useless as possible as a plan created by her to make Daniel awaken his unique skill.

She quickly nodded in approval, as the wave of zombies quickly lessened and Daniel decimated very single zombie that came on his way.

However, she had other plans...

— Fizzlee!

Alaine raised her hands, and flames burst from her fingertips, creating a fire barrier between them and the zombies.

— FWOOSH!

The fire spread quickly, engulfing the wave of zombies in an inferno; their screams were drowned out by the crackling of the flames as they were reduced to ashes in a matter of seconds.

Then, twisting her finger in a circle, she unleashed a small fire tornado that swept through the horde, leaving only charred remains in its wake.

— WHOOOSH! BOOM!

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

The notifications popped up, which she ignored and simply increased the potency of her magic. With her high magic status, this scenario was a peace of cake.

However, she knew that it would eventually grow harder, especially during the 90th wave.

In a matter of minutes, the wave had passed, leaving nothing but ashes on the ground.

[You have completed the 9th wave!]

"We'll rest for a few minutes." She glanced at Daniel, who was wiping sweat from his forehead. However, the bright golden light still enveloped his entire body.

'Perfect... However, before the 10th wave, I need to make sure to bring that thing up.'

Alaine reached out to her item store, and her eyes landed on a especific item.

[Ogre's Heart]

She purchased it and approached a huge zombie she had deliberately left intact. She fed the zombie, the Ogre's Heart and then pressed the button to start the 10th wave.

[Starting the 10th wave...]

[Warning! A special boss has been encountered!]

[If you defeat the special boss, all rewards will be doubled!]

— ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

The zombie beside Alaine roared loudly, its body turning slimy as it merged with the incoming horde of zombies.

At his actions, Alaine simply smiled before raising her hand...

"Rosewood's 5th Form: Storm of Roses...!"

Suddenly, from her hand, a wave of roses emerged, spreading rapidly through the space.

Then, as Alaine made a diagonal movement with her hand, they abruptly became fierce and charged the zombies.

They transformed into small blades bearing a rose symbol and quickly split the incoming zombies in half.

— SWISH! SWISH! SPLAT!

And if that was not enough, when a rose killed a zombie, the zombie was transformed into a swarm of roses that reached out to kill another zombie.

As a result, the tenth wave was completed in mere seconds, leaving only the special boss.

"H-huh... w-what i-is this?" Daniel stammered as he saw this scene unfold right before his two eyes.

"Magic." Alaine replied with a smile before turning to the special boss and uttering...

"Die."

The storm of roses transformed into a massive rose that smashed into the slimy zombie and then began to burn along with it.

The special boss could not do anything, not even scream in pain...

[You have completed the tenth wave!]

[You were the first group to achieve this feat and will receive 10,000 Coins!]

[Would you like to continue to the next wave or be teletransported to the next scenario?]

"As always..." Alaine sighed deeply.

"Let's go to the next scenario." She turned towards Daniel, who nodded his head at her words.

He reached out to press the button, but as he pressed, he finally noticed that Alaine didn't even reach the panel before her.

"Wha—" His voice trailed off as he completely vanished from her view.

"Sorry Daniel... but I can't let you know that I'm going to stalk Lucius... after all... this is my deepest secret... since high school." She sighed as her shone with a faint red glint.

"I can complete the remaining ninety waves later." She mumbled as she walked in Lucius's direction, whose whereabouts were indicated by a suspicious looking wristwatch.

...

[You have completed the 7th wave!]

[Remaining Plants: 22 attack, 11 wood, 17 magic, and 3 fire.]

"We actually reached the 7th wave without spending any coins... mhm..." Lucius's expression was thoughtful as he examined the zombies' lifeless bodies.

"Huff, huff!—C-can we rest now?" Jane asked, taking deep breaths.

"Sure." Lucius gave a nod, considering that they were going through the waves non-stop. And for someone like Jane, who had particularly weak attributes, she had already reached her limit.

"Hahh..." Bianca breathed out as she moved her position on Lucius' lap.

She had activated her hirbernation mode... ahem.

'Yep, that confirms it. It is her white tiger race that causes her to fall asleep so quickly! There's no explanation other than that!'

Sigh~

Putting Bianca aside, Lucius lay down in a bed created with ice and looked at the ceiling.

"I'm bored... hah..." He turned to Jane and noticed her drinking water. Some of the water slipped by her chin, falling into her clothes and soaking them.

More specifically, her chest area...

"Mhm... Jane, come here." Lucius's lips curled up slightly.

Jane sighed deeply but approached him. As she stood before him, she heard a soft sound, and an ice cube formed around them.

—Fwoop!

A hand landed on her head, gently pressing her to her knees.

"You already know what to do..." Lucius snapped his fingers, and the ice cubicle became opaque, hiding them from view.

Jane's cheeks turned red at his words, however, he didn't refuse his orders.

She reached out to unbuckle his belt—

— BOOOOOOMMM!

Sorry guys, was supposed to upload two or three days ago, however, had some tecnical problems with my computer, which means that now I can only use my old pc that was left in the dust... literally.

I already passed most of my files to this one, so it shouldn't be much of a problem to upload at least once a week. It's final stretch of the exams, so... as always, don't expect much :) (especially since this summer i'm going to another country to work, so I really won't have any time to write except my days off)

Thankfully, this computer isn't as bad as I thought.
