The momentum

Unwilling to budge away and run, the shark directly charges towards Tim, it's nose straight forward and the tail flapping left to right on the end side of the shark.

This is a terrible situation to be in, the shark isn't huge but still has to be at least 2 meters long, while Tim is small and slow!

Unwilling to just wait for the shark to come and take him out with a bite, Tim swims directly downwards with an aim to bury himself in the sand again.

Good enough to buy himself a few seconds of life, the shark just continued forward with its built up momentum, swimming a few meters forward before realizing what's going on here.

Number-wise, it gave Tim around 12 seconds to pick the next idea that will help him survive a bit longer!

The plan was to dig his head deep in the sand and hope for the shark to become blind for a little while and completely miss him, but what Tim spotted is even better!

There is a little hole just about 10 meters away, stretches just about 20 centimeters wide. Well that's at least what Tim's guessing, it does look small enough to escape this enemy and big enough to fit in.

Hearing the tail flaps of the shark behind him, pushing through the water left and right, it can only signify that the enemy is getting closer.

Immediately taking a significant dive down, he can feel the shark's momentum troubling the water above his head, even dragged his lower body, forcing it to adapt with the shark's momentum.

He could even feel his barb slide through the surface of the enemy's belly, before he was tail slapped, forced tad out of orientation but in another way closer towards that hole.

Swimming forward with all of his might, all the speed a 29 day old Stingray can build up, finally spotting that the hole is just a meter away.

His eye got a glimpse of the shark on his left, rushing and bustling against the sea water with that growing prime urge to make Tim his dinner.

Bam!

What just happened now was something Tim and anything else around here didn't expect!

A head poked out of that hole, super charged forwards and dug its teeth on the rushing shark!

The momentum from both bigger species, started pushing time around like a ragdoll, he has no orientation whatsoever, felt his spine touching the shark's back even, and therefore hurrying his barb up and down, stabbing the enemy quite a few times before making a dash for it.

Panicking through and through, Tim also starts moving his jaws up and down over and over again, trying to at least fight back whatever's challenging him.

And so, his jaws met flesh, dug through the shark's tail before getting slapped by it again.

[Shortfin Mako Shark identified, statistics have been saved in your collection.]

[Effect on hunger, +1 bar]

[Effect on health, -5 bars]

[Effect on sleep, +2 bars]

[Effect on stamina, +3 bars]

"Say what now? Why did I lose health?" Tim questions, shocked how hard to get shark food caused a negative effect.

Wanting to check how much health he has left, not remembering the total number, and not wanting to see all those other stats either, Tim demands. "Tell me the health bar only!"

[Health bar = 95/100]

"Oh, it's not that bad then." Tim murmured as he swam away from danger at full speed.

After a while, feeling that no one's chasing him, basing that theory from the momentum and sound of the water. Tim turns around and obtains the displeasure to see 2 species fighting until death becomes certain.

An Eel has appeared on the scene, apparently it was taking residence in that hole Tim desperately tried to go in!

Taking a second to think about this situation, Tim came to a rather firm theory, expressing it. "That Eel wanted to eat me, but bit the shark instead."

[System recommends to swim away, their battle won't last long.]

"Right right." Tim gets back to his senses, turns around and spots a glowing red coral reef in the near distance.

That shark seems to be winning after all so it might not be the best idea to stand around and watch the show, it isn't quite easy to watch it either as a lot of blood is bursting around.

The coral reef will grant a lot more advantages when it comes to avoiding big predators, it has small spots to slip in, lots of twists and edges, perfect for hidding.

Reaching the coral reef, slipping between a bushy like sea plant and swimming down further, following a tunnel like way the reef provides and slipping in 2 meters deep.

Taking a moment to relax, feeling his body feel at ease as stamina increases for the better.

Half a minute later, he can see the same Mako shark poking its nose against that bushy coral at the very entrance. Fortunately it can't come in and it's nose has basically become target practice right now.

The shark's mouth is over a foot below the nose and its body can't really fit through the coral. It would be a good idea to go and stab it several times if one was revenge oriented, but there still are risk factors as the shark won't stand still for Tim to stab.

Unwilling to move at the moment since the shark can't harm him here, Tim takes a moment to observe his surroundings.

Well the place here is red and the shades this colour provides, but there also seems to be a way he can slip through if standing here all day long isn't an option.

Taking an effort to move, feeling his fins touch the edges of the hole but it isn't exactly a problem since a Stingray's body is usually lumpy and soft.

Thankfully he didn't have to squeeze in for a long time because another opening revealed itself, looks a bit like a hole but gives that vibe of a cave.

It's wide, perhaps about 8 feet across, the colour red started to fade away in this section and replaced with sand and a bit of rock too.

It's not dark down here, he can see light bursting out of the several bushy and firm coral above his head, proving as a good ceiling.

At the bottom, he spots a lot of spider like creatures, easily visible and don't seem so dangerous but all those legs make Tim feel a bit nervous.

Hoping to get something out of this system now, Tim asks. "Those aren't sea spiders aren't they?"

[They are a species of shrimp, easy to kill but not so fulfilling.]

[Full statistics can't be given before you take a bite of the species.]

[I recommend you kill a few for system points.]

[Each of these shrimps, will grant you 1 system point once killed.]

[This isn't a system given task so you won't get additional points on the first kill.]

[Good luck
