Still cares

Olivia's POV

I stared at him with wide eyes and shock, I couldn't believe he could say such a thing to me.

“Rona”. I called out 

He hissed softly and removed his gaze from me.

“Go home “.he spoke in a deep rough voice.

I felt my heart clench in pain and I couldn't bear it 

“Are you dumping me”. I asked in pain. He groaned in anger before staring at me 

“You were never mine oli, you always belong to Derick “.he said those words with so much anger in his voice.

“Belong to Derick”. I asked in shock.

“Don't act like you don't know what am saying”. He spoke in anger 

“What are you even saying”. I asked confused

He stared at me and bite his teeth in pain 

“ Go oli, just go home “.he groaned in pain and tried to move to the other side of the bed, but the wound in his left stomach held him back.

“Mike “. He screams out Mike's name 

I stared at him and noticed he was in so much pain, and it pains me I couldn't help him.

In no time Mike rushed into Rona's room 

“Is everything alright”. Mike asked those questions while staring at me and Rona.

“Get me the injection, the painkillers aren't working”. He hissed in pain and bite his lips to prevent himself from shouting.

“This is not good I'll get the doctor”. Mike said those words while bringing out his phone from his pocket.

“I don't need a doctor, just get me the damn injection “. Rona shouted in anger.

Mike ignored him dialed a number on his phone.

“Please be quick”. He said those words and ended the call.

“I told you not to call him, just get me the injection”.rona shouted in anger.

Mike ignored him and sat in the couch 

“Sit”. Mike ordered me 

Rona wanted to protest against it, but he was in so much pain to do so.

I sat beside Mike and nervously stared at Rona.

He was in so much pains and I knew he was trying his best friend to hold himself for crying out.

“What did you do Rona”. Mike asked in anger 

Rona hissed in pain and ignored him 

“I know you did something “. Mike spoke angrily.

“Just shut up”. Rona spoke with so much anger.

Mike hissed softly and stared at me with concern.

“Do you want to have anything”. Mike asked 

“No”.

“I told you to take her home “. Rona hissed in frustration and look away.

A knock on the door caught our attention 

“Come in”. Mike order

The doctor rushed in and walk up to Rona 

“Let me see”.he removed Rona's hand from his stomach

He open the bandage and applied some medication to it before giving Rona some injection.

“You shouldn't be moving around, try and stay at a place “.the doctor said those words to Rona who wasn't showing any form of concern.

He stood up the bed and walk up to Mike 

“The injection will make him sleep for some time, just make sure he doesn't move around”

“I will make sure of that, thanks”.he shakes hands with the doctor before the doctor left the room.

We turn around and saw that Rona was already fast asleep 

“I haven't seen him this weak and sad "

Mike hissed softly.

“What do you mean “. I asked 

He stared at sleeping Rona and hissed softly

“He is not only going through the pains of the gunshots, but he is going through the pain of betrayal and love “. Mike spoke softly.

“Betrayal?”. I asked confused 

Mike stared at me for a while before he walks to Rona's bed 

He got to Rona's bed and covered him properly with the blanket.

“I should take you home “.he turns around and stared at me 

“No”. I whisper

Mike stared at me with a confused look 

“I want to stay with him and look after him “. I murmured

“I can't let you do that “. Mike objected.

“Please”. I move closer to Mike and took his hands 

“Please I can't sleep knowing he is in so much pain “. I begged 

Mike hissed and ran his fingers through his hair 

“Rona won't like this “.he muttered out 

“Allow me worry about it “. I begged 

He stared at me for a while before taking a deep breath.

“Fine, I'm in the next room, just let me know if anything goes wrong “.

“I will, goodnight”.

“Goodnight”.

He stared at sleeping Rona for a while before leaving the room. 

I hissed in relief and sat on the couch.

I stared at him and watch him sleep peacefully.

Mike's words keeps ringing in my head and I wondered what he meant by Rona suffering from love and betrayal.

“Little bird”. I heard Rona whispered in his dream.

I felt my heart pounding heavily, and my eyes became watery.

It been long since I heard that name from him.

“Little bird “.he called out again 

Immediately I left the couch and walk up to the bed.

I stood beside him and had no idea on what I should do.

I stared at him murmuring something in his sleep, but I couldn't pick it.

“My Olivia”, .he said those words like he meant it.

The moment he said those words my heart flutter in excitement and joy.

He called me his Olivia, that means he wasn't angry with me the way he made it look.

I sat beside him and gently ran my fingers in his hair.

His hairs were so soft despite the kind of man he was.

I move my hand from his hair and caress his cheek.

“Handsome”. I murmured 

He hissed softly in his sleep and tried to move aside, but I held him from moving around.

I hissed softly and place my hand on his head, and noticed he was having a fever .

I rushed to the bathroom and pick up a towel and a bowl of water and rushed to him.

I soaked the towel in the water and place it on his head several time before I notice his fever came down.

I hissed in relief and kept back the towel and water.

I checked the time and saw that it was pass 1am.

I hissed in relief and place my head on the bed and fell asleep.

I could feel something gently stroking my hair and the feeling was so good.

I open my eyes and noticed it stopped.

I raised my head and met eyes with Rona.

“You are awake”. I spoke nervously

“What are you doing here “.he asked in a rough voice.

I stood up from the couch and couldn't meet his gaze in fear.

“I asked a question”. His voice was calm but rough 

I swallowed nervously and move away.

“I'll go home now “. I replied in fear and walk towards the door.

“Stop”. He ordered 

I stop and turn around and stared at him with fear.

“Check the time”.

I check the wall clock and saw that it was few minutes pass 2 am 

I hissed in frustration and stared at him 

“You think I will let you go home by this time”.he spoke coldly.

I hissed softly and sat on the couch.

We sat there in silence until I was feeling sleepy and couldn't hold it anymore.

I lay on the couch and was about closing my eyes when Rona's deep voice brought me out from my sleep.

“Come here “.he ordered 

I stood up from the couch and walked over to him.

“Come here “.he taps the side of the bed beside him 

“There”. I stared at the position and swallowed nervously

“I won't let you sleep on the couch, come over here “.he ordered 

I swallowed nervously and walk up to him 

“Come here "

I move closer to him and get on the bed maintaining as much space I could.

“Sleep “.he orders and closed his eyes.

I turn around and stared at him 

“Stop looking and sleep "

How can he see me with his eyes closed

“I can't see “. I murmured

He open his eyes and stared directly into my eyes like he was trying to pierce into my soul.

“Come here “.he open his right arm for me to go in.

I stared at him in shock 

“Come”.he ordered

I took in a deep breath and move to his arms and lay my head on this chest.

“That's better “.he murmured

I closed my eyes but couldn't sleep because his heart was beating heavily, and I felt intoxicated by it.

“Why are you still awake “.he asked 

I shake my head but did not say a word 

He hissed softly and started caressing my hair.

I closed my eyes and hissed in relief

“Rona”. I called out 

“Yes”

“Are you serious with what you said earlier”.

I asked fear 

He hissed softly but did not say word

“Rona”. I called out

He hissed softly and took in a deep breath before he gently caressed my hair 

“Sleep little Bird sleep “.he whispered softly into my ear.

I hissed softly and relaxed in his arms which felt like the most saftest place in the world and drifted to sleep.
