As Yuga fed the Lapras the second dose of the medicine, the system continued to remind him.

Yuga was exasperated; this was like emptying his pockets.

Although he felt the pinch, Yuga took out the last Large Gene Restoration Potion. With two already used, one more wouldn't make a significant difference at this point.

After administering the final dose of the Large Gene Restoration Potion, the system finally confirmed that Lapras was completely fine. Yuga breathed a long sigh of relief. If it hadn't worked, he couldn't imagine how regretful he would be.

With all the Large Gene Restoration Potions used, Lapras's aura started rapidly strengthening. It was enveloped in a thin blue mist.

As time passed, Yuga could feel unprecedented waves of pressure emanating from Lapras. It was even more uncomfortable than when Absol's Pressure ability were activated.

"What's going on?" Yuga stared in astonishment as he witnessed Lapras undergoing a transformation.

[ Because the Kyogre genes proliferated too quickly, they have completely merged with Lapras's original genes. Right now, a special gene is forming inside Lapras. ]

The system explained as it sensed Yuga's confusion.

Yuga asked, "So, is this still Lapras?"

The system hesitated for a moment and replied, [ It probably shouldn't be considered... anymore. ]

In its heart, the system silently thought that this might turn into a low-grade version of Kyogre wearing Lapras's skin.

When the mist on Lapras was absorbed into its body, Yuga noticed another change in its appearance. Its originally gray back turned into bluish-gray. The upper blue skin became even deeper and glossier, almost shining.

Its light blue belly reverted to white, and its four fins became even larger, resembling true wings.

"Lapras..."

After reopening its eyes, Lapras let out a clear and melodious cry, as if trying to release all its past burdens.

Once it had vented, Lapras squinted at Yuga and then affectionately rubbed its savior's cheek with its massive head.

A typical adult Lapras averaged 2.5 meters in height, making it quite large among Pokémon. However, the Lapras before Yuga was at least 3 meters tall, even taller than his Absol.

Yuga gently touched Lapras's smooth chin and asked, "Lapras, do you want to stay with me from now on?"

"Lapras!" Lapras let out a gentle cry and nodded in agreement.

Seeing Lapras's consent, Yuga was overjoyed and once again used Insight to examine Lapras.

After shaking his head and repeatedly checking, he confirmed he wasn't mistaken. Then, he fell into a state of ecstasy.

It was indeed a Pokémon with a purple potential!

This was the first Pokémon with a purple potential that Yuga had obtained, and it was the first one he had ever seen.

While rumor about Pokémon with purple potential had always circulated in this world, Yuga had never heard of anyone actually obtaining one.

Could Pokémon with purple potential be related to Legendary Pokémon? Yuga couldn't help but wonder.

Lapras had originally been a Pokémon with blue potential. Still, because it merged with Kyogre's genes, it leaped into the realm of the most mysterious purple potential Pokémon. This was something Yuga couldn't help but think about.

However, most regular Pokémon couldn't withstand the genes of Legendary Pokémon, especially ancient ones like Kyogre. Even Lapras had consumed three precious Large Gene Restoration Potions from Yuga.

Yuga wondered if he would ever get a chance to obtain more of these potions in the future.

Not only did Lapras's potential transform, but its level, abilities, and skills also underwent significant changes.

Originally, Lapras was just a pseudo-Elite Pokémon, but now it had ascended to the intermediate Elite level, just one level below his Volcarona.

Then, there was its ability.

Lapras originally didn't have the Drizzle ability. It had Water Absorb, Shell Body, and its hidden ability, Hydration.

But now it had gained the Drizzle ability! This was likely inherited from Kyogre.

And when it came to skills, Yuga's main Pokémon, Chimecho, had the most skills, thanks to residual effects from Deoxy's Engery Core. However, Lapras had now surpassed Chimecho.

Originally, Lapras didn't have this many skills; they were all awakened just moments ago.

But what disappointed Yuga was that while Chimecho inherited Deoxys's exclusive skill, Psycho Boost, Lapras didn't inherit Kyogre's exclusive skill, Origin Pulse.

However, Yuga wasn't greedy. Lapras's transformation into a Pokémon with purple potential and its willingness to follow him out of gratitude were more than enough to make Yuga ecstatic.

He wondered, though, what the difference was between Pokémon with purple potential and those with regular potential.

Lapras belonged to the category of artificially purple potential Pokémon, but Yuga didn't know if there were naturally occurring purple potential Pokémon.

Though Yuga typically didn't include fully developed Pokémon in his main team, but Pokémon with purple potential were an exception. These were creatures living in legends.

Now that he thought about it, he had encountered several Legendary Pokémon, but this was the first time he had seen one with purple potential.

After Yuga used his exclusive Poké Ball to capture Lapras and then released it again, he introduced himself, "I'm Shimizu Yuga. Nice to meet you."

Lapras lowered its head and nuzzled Yuga affectionately.

"Lapras, would you like to cause some chaos here with me?" Yuga suddenly asked Lapras.

"Lapras!" Lapras nodded in delight.

Since its illness had been cured, Lapras felt like it had been reborn. That's why it readily followed Yuga. It also despised this place filled with wickedness.

"It's not just us; we need some helpers. Lapras, Gengar! Let's destroy those pools containing many Water-type Pokémon."

Yuga's eyes twinkled as he pointed towards the pools holding numerous Water-type Pokémon.

Both Lapras and Gengar nodded in agreement and began to wreck the pools.

Lapras, freshly promoted to Elite level Pokémon, had yet to control its newfound power. When it launched a Hydro Pump at its target, it didn't hit the intended pool but instead blasted a hole through the laboratory wall.

The reason Yuga wanted to have some fun with Lapras was to allow it to familiarize itself with the power it had just gained.
