CHAPTER 7
After some time we reached Split Mountain.
"This is it. Take a look at what's down there.", said Menchi.
"What is that?", questioned a contestant.
"A spider eagle's egg.", replied Menchi.
Then the chairman said," These spider eagle eggs are the most difficult ingredients to obtain."
"wait u don't mean..", said that same fat contestant.
"u bet I do.", said Menchi then she jumped down.
Then we all look into the slipt then an updraft along with Menchi came then the chairman said," This riven has updrafts that are crucial to the spider eagle once they hatch the wind currents help guide their newborn chicks as they fly up to safety."
"there, now I just need to boil the egg and I'll be set.", said Menchi.
"I've been waiting for something like this.", said gon. Then we all jumped on the mountain to get eggs. Then all of the other applicants jumped down too, an applicant let go of the web to catch the egg but he fell further into the riven seeing that Leorio asked
"What are we waiting for?"
"Hold on don't let yet", said Gon.
"Why what's wrong?", asked Leorio.
"The updraft.", I said.
"The updrafts they don't happen all the time", said Kurapika.
"When do u think the next one comes along?", questioned Leorio.
"Any minute now.", said Gon.
"It appears that the web is not strong enough to support us", said as the web was about to snap.
"Gon can we go yet?", asked Killua.
"Damn I can't wait any longer.", said a contestant and then two let go.
"It's about to snap", said leorio scared.
"okay, now!", said Gon. Then we all let go of the web and they each caught an egg but I caught two eggs. Then we all boiled our eggs and began to eat them.
'wow it's so tasty more than my fav potatoes', I slowly ate the eggs smiling happily.
"ur really gonna eat both of them?", asked Killua.
"yeah I am it's so tasty.", I said.
"oh yeah?", he said then took a bite of the egg which I was eating a very big bite at that.
"Kitty!! U ate yours why are u coming for mine?", I asked angrily as I hid the remaining eggs.
"well, u were eating it so slowing thought I should finish it fast.", he replied giving a cat smile.
'he's so cute.', I thought fangirling inside but I was showing an angry expression outside.
"Hmph, I'm gonna go to the ship first.", I told him and ran to the ship while stuffing my mouth with the eggs.
*AFTER A WHILE*
"I'll now take the opportunity to introduce myself to the remaining 43 applicants. I am Netero the chairman of the selection community for this year's hunter exam it is a pleasure to meet all of u", said the chairman.
"And I am his secretary Beans", said the cute little bean.
"I had originally planned to make an appearance at the last phase of the exam but well seeing as I'm already here I have to admit there's nothing I love more than this feeling of tension in this air. So, I think I'll stick around for the remainder of the trip.", said the chairman laughing merrily.
"We are scheduled to arrive at our destination tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock am exactly you'll find dinner at the dining hall u're also welcome to get some rest u're free to do as u like until we further contact u." said Mr. Beans.
"Hey, come on Gon, Mia let's go and explore the air ship.", said Killua.
"okay", both me and Gon said.
While we were exploring Killua suggested robbing the kitchen.
"But why ? we can get food in the dining hall no?", I asked him.
"Yeah but where's the fun in that?", replied Killua.
"You two do it I don't want to.", I told them as I was already full from those eggs I ate earlier.
After some time, loud sounds came from the kitchen then Killua and Gon were dropped outside by the cook.
"How was the trip?", I asked them.
"We got these.", showed gon the food they got.
"Hey, look both of u.", said Killua.
"It looks so pretty.", I said admiring the view with gon nodding hard.
"Anyways, so I wondering where are both of ur parents?", asked Gon.
"Hm, they're alive probably.", replied Killua.
"What do they do?", asked Gon.
"They're assassins.", replied Killua.
"They both are"?", questioned Gon.
"Well, that explains why u run without making any sound.", I replied.
"That's ur response?", asked Killua laughing hard.
"u both aren't the first I told this but both of u are the first to take this seriously.", said Killua.
"But its true right?", asked Gon.
"yeah", I followed along.
"Why do u think that?", asked Killua.
"It's just a hunch.", said Gon.
"And most people don't joke about this u know.", I replied.
"Weird, most of the time people only like me because they can't tell if I'm serious or not.", said Killua.
"I'm from a family of assassins so yeah they're all in the business of murder and my entire family they've got really high hopes for me but u know I can't stand it who wants their life mapped out for them?
When I told them I wanted to decide my own future they all flipped out it was crazy my mom had tears streaming down her face and kept screaming at me that I have the potential to be a top assassin, horrible parents right? No wonder I'm rotten then we started fighting so I slashed my mom at the face stabbed my brother at the side and ran away from home I'm sure they're out for blood now if they come after me I'll kill them. I bet they have hefty bounties on them I'll hunt them down to the last one.", said Killua dreamingly, and gon kept laughing awkwardly but gave no reaction but inwardly I was cursing badly at all family members except kalluto and Alluka.
"Mia what about yours?", asked Gon.
"Mine was a very normal happy family there were issues but not so big my parents sacrificed so much for my happiness, and they loved me very much I had a cousin baby brother I almost raised him till he was six because his parents died early and my family took his custody.", I said reminiscing about them feeling sad.
"What do u mean 'was' Mia?", asked Gon.
"They all died in an accident.", I replied shortly while thinking 'well, I died.'
Then all of a sudden we all felt a strong presence and we all turned back but no one was there.
"Something wrong?", asked the chairman while coming from the side where we felt the presence.
