As I stood in front of the bathroom door, the cool tiles beneath my bare feet, I couldn't shake off the lingering unease that clung to me. Chloe had been acting strangely ever since she came to fetch me breakfast this morning, and now as I prepared to take a shower, I couldn't bear the thought of her loitering around me. There was something different about me, something changed, and I needed this time alone to process it all.
Vincent had slipped away this morning, before Chloe had arrived, but I had a feeling that she…and possibly everyone in the castle, already knew what was going on. The reason?
