"This? What's the matter, Gon? What are you talking about?" Mito was at a loss when I began talking to and questioning myself. She thought I was talking to her and Abe when the system and its windows first appeared in my view. "Does the water bottle have a problem?"
I didn't immediately think of Mito and Abe, whom I was about to lie to, as "auntie and grandma" when I was asked that question.
Though I still had the same good and strong feelings for them, the same respect and gratitude, I was Gon, but not the same Gon. I was no longer just Gon from the Hunter X Hunter world, the typical and frequently stressing or vexing shōnen protagonist.
My memories from my two previous lives had returned, including the one on Earth where I knew what a system was. That's because I used to spend a lot of time at sea on my fishing boat reading stories and other entertaining stuff that I would save on my phones and other devices before heading out.
Fishermen also had to entertain themselves when the fish were unpredictable and didn't bite quickly.
… I say this, but I used to be a loner who preferred to spend my spare time at home in my small town… I was at home reading and watching videos when I wasn't at the fish market selling the delicious fish I had caught to village people and mostly housewives who wanted to cook good meals for their families.
I liked my simple life. I was definitely not like the Gon from the Hunter X Hunter world.
There were hardly any things I would do to jeopardize my peaceful lifestyle. But, ageless or not, I wasn't willing to spend the majority of my life on Whale Island in the same way.
I will naturally return to the island frequently, but because I was in a new world, I had to explore and enjoy it.
This, on the other hand, was not a rush; I had time. Four years… In this Hunter X Hunter timeline, a timeline which seemed to be slightly different from the original. I had already met Kite when I was six in the forest, he was the one who told me who my father was.
Mito has been somewhat forthcoming with me about who Ging was ever since that day when I pushed her into a corner by asking.
"Nothing, auntie Mito; I thought I saw a fish in the living room. I think the day was a little too tiring for me, so I may have started having hallucinations." I told Mito the lie that came to mind.
"Hallucinations? Are you also seeing things when you're wide-awake now, too? I hope you're not getting sick… Are you sick, Gon? Do you have a fever? Let me check your body temperature." Mito rose from the sofa and approached me to touch my forehead.
She thought it could be burning…
"It's okay, auntie, I don't need anything, so I'll just head back to sleep." When she noticed nothing wrong but still wanted to give me her traditional island medications, I told her.
The medications were bitter, and I was perfectly fine. I was only a reincarnator who could see what she couldn't. But, of course, I couldn't explain it to her.
"Are you sure you'll be fine?" She inquired again, concerned. I was rarely sick, and the nightmares I was having seemed strange to her. Moreover, I was having hallucinations now.
"Yes," I said. "Good night, auntie, and good night, grandma."
"Good night to you as well, Gon. Rest well." With a smile, Abe told me. "I'm going to stay down here a little longer with this little girl who likes to worry. Have a good night's sleep."
Mito fixed her gaze on her.
Abe only laughed as a cute argument between grandmom and granddaughter began.
When I was on my way up the stairs, Abe was telling Mito that the Freecss bloodline wasn't so weak, so she shouldn't worry about such trivial matters. I was fine…
According to her window information, Abe was just a normal person, but she seemed to know a few things about our family now…
She seemed to… if she wasn't just playing and bragging.
She was old, even ancient in comparison to Mito and me, so anything was possible…

'Aside from the ones you showed me, what other functions do you have system?' I asked my reincarnation helper in my room, while lying on my bed. Now that it was fully loaded, it was time for me to learn more about it.
[I don't have any other functions besides the ones you've seen, host.] I received a quick and short response from the system.
'What were you loading then? And what good are you as a speaking system?' I inquired, a bit confused.
[I'm here to assist you with questions that the rest of the world cannot answer. Though I cannot directly assist you in becoming stronger, I am available to resolve any issues that your cheats may encounter. However, the likelihood of this occurring is almost nil.]
'All right, thank you.' I said.
The system nodded and returned to sleep after asking me if I had other questions.
I didn't ask why I was reincarnated. I only inquired about a few points that were unclear to me. For example, the tiers and such, or my skills…
Reincarnation was an uncommon and fortunate gift that could be obtained, but was difficult to demand and call on… I was already pleased with what I had, and I had no intention of grumbling and complaining to the system about my lucky and superb reincarnation.
I was simply asking the previous questions to see if there were any additional opportunities. But, I reasoned, what I had was already more than enough.
Especially the "crowning deal" talent. I was overjoyed to have it because it allowed me to make any kind of deal with people, animals, and other lifeforms who agreed to make a deal with me.
I had no choice but to leave the island before I can learn Nen. So, thinking about the animals on the island with whom I now could communicate, I grinned.
Then I opened my status window to take another look at it.
There were other things I could do to train and prepare before learning Nen.

I wasn't a gamer with a gamer physique… Tiers were distinct from levels. Extremely distinct and difficult to evolve. Tiers represented a group of people of the same echelon, the same grade of strength. That was a big and wide grade… There were both weak and strong people in the same tier… And tier 0 was for the normal people and civilians.
According to the system, it took me 8 years to acquire tier 1 strength, with which I could arm wrestle a giant fish...
However, after seeing my window, I was excited to begin my training.
I wanted to meet Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua with a different mentality and strength than the archetype Gon.
For that, I had to train. Train hard.
After all, unlike the other Gon who left the back of my mind, I was given limitless potential despite not being a shōnen child who could push ahead in the face of any difficulties.
My plot armor was taken away, if I had one and if it was still there… because I died in the second life after massacring Pitou like a savage… Like a real barbarian…
But I was awakened to other gifts in exchange for not meeting Nanika and get healed, it seemed.
