The fight was still going on inside the battle arena, and Gon was moving at high speeds. As Gon kept trading blows with Hisoka, he quickly thought back to the time he met Jett. If it wasn't because of him, there wasn't any way that he would be able to fight Hisoka as well as he was fighting him now. Gon was confident of his physical strength and stamina. He had good senses and could spot something in the darkness of night.
He wonders how different his life would be if he had not met Jett on Whale Island. Gon compares himself to Killua, who was trained as an assassin. He didn't think he would be able to beat him if they fought. He also knew he was weak when he took the hunter exam and was knocked out by Hanzo.
After Jett taught him Nen, every time Jett trained with him and taught him new techniques, he could feel himself getting stronger. Hisoka's jab to the gut interrupted his quick thoughts.
"You're thinking of someone else; it makes me jealous," Hisoka said with a smile.
"Point Hisoka!" the referee shouted.
Gon looked at Hisoka blankly as if thinking of something, yet he didn't know what that thought was. It was the same as when people spaced out and stared into space. Hisoka didn't move because Gon didn't show any emotions on his face. He was used to being able to read people, especially kids like Gon.
"Yes, I was thinking about Jett," Gon said in a soft voice, but with Hisoka's senses, he could hear him.
"Oh yes, he has a lot of potential. I think he has even more potential than you, ah! I can't wait. He's almost ripe, but he needs to get past that little hurdle keeping him back," Hisoka said.
"What do you mean," Gon said, narrowing his eyes at Hisoka.
"Um...don't look at me like that. Okay, I'll tell you... he's afraid. I could feel it," Hisoka said, holding himself as if hugging himself. He then continued.
"I don't know what happened but something is holding him back, I don't know if his aware and is trying to hide it, or if he hasn't realized it and is subconsciously keeping that fear in the back of his mind. He is scared of death, and it is a look I see on my prey when I give them the killing blow. Umm, it makes me shiver," Hisoka said. Gon thought back to Jett's actions, but he remembered something; it was the first time he met Jett and that strange creature that gave off a killing intent. He remembered Jett had been happy, but could that be what Hisoka was talking about? In these moments, Gon seemed wise, but his intuition made him arrive at the correct conclusion occasionally.
Gon looked to the side in the direction he had spotted yet before. To his surprise, there were only Killua, Wing, and Zushi.
______
Jett, meanwhile, was jumping on the rooftops to avoid anyone seeing him. The address he was given wasn't far from the tower. As he got closer to the address, the streets became darker, the buildings became older and full of graffiti, and shady people could be seen in dark alleys between buildings.
Jett had entered Zetsu, and as soon as he left the battle tower, he stood across a building, watching the other building he had been told about. He used (Gyo) but could not see anything amiss, or that could look like a trap.
Jumping to the rooftop of said building, Jett quickly walked to the door and pulled. The door was locked, but that wasn't an obstacle for Jett; he simply pulled harder. He walked slowly down the stairs to the fifth floor. He hesitated at the door but resolved himself to open the door to the room he was told the spy and the hunter would be in.
Inside the room were two people. The first was a normal-looking man with toad-like eyes. The second person was kneeling on the floor. His long coat covered his body, but his face was visible to Jett. Jett would think of this man as good-looking if it wasn't for his hunted skinny look, pale skin color, and sickly look.
"Is this the man?" Jett asked the man who was standing.
"Yes, he's the one that was following you," the man said.
"How did you capture him?" Jett asked.
"Is part of my Hatsu so that I won't reveal that information," the man said.
"That's fine; I'll send the money to the account you gave me; you can leave now." Jett pulled out his phone and pressed a few buttons. A beep sounded from the Hunter's side; the hunter took out his phone and looked at the screen.
"The money is in my account; good luck," the hunter said.
Jett didn't look at the man as he left; he only heard the door close behind him. In retrospect, he should have thought better of coming alone because he would soon regret it.
"You try to get my attention, so here I am now; what did you want?" Jett said.
"He-he-he, I was sure that you would follow the first time you finally turned to look at me; who knew that you were such a careful guy," the man said.
"Can we get straight to the point? There is no need to try to provoke me; you can't escape," Jett said.
"Kid, you're still too green. If you can pay for something, I can pay for it too," the man said without another word, dashed forward, stretching his hand as if trying to grab Jett. Jett was ready. He had believed the Hunter when he said he had captured the spy, but his body was still ready for a fight.
Jett jumped back, trying to avoid the man's reach, but he felt something touch his back. When he felt the touch on his back, a foreign Nen invaded his body. He felt his Nen being forced into a state of Zetsu. Jett jumped to the side, creating some distance between the two people. He saw that the one who had placed him in a state of Zetsu was the hunter who had left earlier.
"I'm not surprised; humans are that kind of people," Jett simply said. The Nen in his body was sealed, and he couldn't use it anymore. It was a good thing that it was only one type of Nen. His other Nen was active, but he kept it in a state of Zetsu for now. He figured that now that they thought he was vulnerable, they would let their guard down.
"Sorry, kid. Don't blame me. I completed the job. If he broke free after I left, that's not on me," the hunter said, but Jett wasn't paying attention to him.
"Ha-ha, you're trying to act brave; I can see it in your eyes. There is also something else; you think you're hiding it, but I can see you're scared," the spy said to Jett. Jett looked at him with confusion; he didn't know what that man was talking about.
"Oh? You haven't noticed; look at your right hand," the spy pointed.
Jett glanced at his hand, which was slightly trembling; even so, Jett still didn't get it; people would often tremble when they were in a dangerous situation. It was human instinct to fear death.
"I can't see what you're thinking, although you have no emotion in your face. If someone with experience looks well, they can see your emotion as clearly as day," said the man.
"You think it is normal, and you may be right for normal people. Nen users are different. There isn't a clear winner when it comes to Nen fights, not until you start fighting. Different abilities could decide a different outcome depending on what ability the person has. Hesitating for a Nen user is like death, and you're afraid to die," the man said. Those words sent a shock through Jett's body because what this man said was right.
He had been scared; he hadn't noticed before, but every time it came to a fight, there was a lingering feeling that said he didn't want to fight. He always came up with excuses; he would tell himself that they were too strong for him or that he had more experience than him, and he would convince himself that he only needed more time. He had a Hatsu that forced people into a state of Zetsu, and because of the mystery of his body, he could use two types of Nen as if he had two bodies in one. His second Hatsu gave him unlimited Nen for a set time. Why was he so scared?
The only time he could think about that would leave a psychological scar in his mind was when that strange lizard-like thing tried to kill him. He had recently been transferred to the world, and he was almost killed. It had affected him more than he had thought; even when he stood up to Illumi, his Nen had exploded with confidence, but his thought at that time was of how glad he was that Illumi had backed down because he wasn't strong enough.
"I don't why you told me that, you could have taken advantage of it and killed me or captured me, but I will still thank you because you made me realize what a coward I been," Jett said.
"Don't overthink it, kid. It would leave a bad taste in my mouth, killing knowing that you didn't even give it all you had, but that's all the help I'm going to give you. Are you ready?" the spy said.
"I am, and I won't hesitate, but first, let me deal with something," Jett said. Jett moved so fast that it shocked both men. His arm was now piercing through the hunter. His arm was covered in Nen, keeping the blood from touching him.
"How I was sure I sealed your Nen," said the hunter. Jett didn't answer because, at that moment, the spy attacked him. The spy again tries to grab him, but when he fails, he grabs the hunter's neck and throws the body at Jett.
'Why has he been trying to grab me? Is it a Hatsu to restrict movement like the hunter?' Jett thought avoiding the body of the hunter, it didn't take that much effort because it hadn't been thrown that fast. The answer came in the form of the hunter's body suddenly compressing as if being squeezed into a tiny hole.
That wasn't all that happened because right before the body was gone, right in the center of the vortex, a white light started to glow, and small waves of heat could be felt. Realizing something, Jett immediately uses (Ken) to defend; an explosion follows, leveling the room and sending Jett flying across multiple walls.
With his timely use of (Ken), Jett wasn't that badly injured, but he did suffer burns to his body. When the momentum of the explosion was over, Jett quickly tried to get up, but a few rocks came flying at him from the direction he had come from. Jett quickly enhanced his legs and escaped through the hole in the ceiling he saw at the last minute. He heard a few explosions behind him, but this time, they were much smaller; the explosion the hunter's body produced was more enormous.
'Is the radios of the explosion related to the object's mass," Jett began to deduce. Jett quickly used Zetsu when he was out of view. He then used a flash step to appear in a different location from where his Nen had disappeared.
"How smart, I already lost you, but that can also be fixed," the man said. Jett then felt a wave of energy pass through him.
'En' Jett thought he jumped away from the spot he was in, avoiding another explosion. The explosion was bigger than when the pebbles were used, but he couldn't make any deduction because he didn't see what the spy utilized to make the explosion.
"How should I deal with you?" the voice came from the hole created by the explosion.
___
"What do you mean, Killua?" Gon asked.
"Is like I said I don't know where he went, he only said he was going to the restroom," Killua replied.
Gon's fight was already done; he had lost. But the fight was something Gon had already forgotten about because when he came out to meet his friends, he found out that Jett was gone.
"We must find him; what if he needs our help?!" Gon shouted.
"I know where he went; I saw the message he got," Wing said.
"What is that true, Wing-san? Where is it? We have to hurry," Gon said.
