Chapter 12- Monsters

After returning from the survival lessons, Hob and Friz had nothing to do, so they both took a good sleep for around 9-10 hours. When they woke up, it was already night time.

"We slept through the day!" Hob and Friz exclaimed in unison. "What are we supposed to do the whole night? The teacher won't be back to the training facility until tomorrow!" Hob and Friz shouted together.

After calming down from the initial shock, Friz said to Hob, "Hey, since we're already awake and can't fall asleep, why don't we do that?"

"No, no, Friz, we can't do that. It's not right, plus we don't even have any protection," Hob said, blushing.

"What are you on about? Why would we need protection to read the monster booklet?" Friz said teasingly.

"Eh, ah yes, the booklet. You're right, the booklet. Let's read it," Hob said, embarrassed.

"Don't tell me you actually want to do that," Friz whispered into Hob's ears.

"No, no, I don't. Not right now," Hob said, trying his utmost to control himself and blushing crazily.

"All right, then let's read the monster booklet since you don't want to do that right now," Friz said in a seductive voice while backing away from Hob's ears.

As soon as Friz backed away, Hob fell back on the bed, breathing heavily. "I gotta say, you got me there," Hob said, laughing.

"Of course I did. That's for pulling me in front of everyone during the daytime," Friz said, laughing as well.

"Now then, let's start reading the booklet," Hob said.

"All right," Friz nodded in agreement.

Soon, they were reading about all kinds of monsters and their traits, habitats, and weaknesses.

**Monster Name: Camez**

**Monster Info:** Mutation of a desert animal named camel. It has lost its herbivorous nature and begun to eat meat. Its humps can store fat, making it capable of chasing or running for weeks without getting tired.

**Monster Trait:** Fast and loves to trample things.

**Monster Habitat:** Lives in dry areas, hard to encounter.

**Monster Weakness:** Can't get up easily after falling.

**Monster Name: Snakepede**

**Monster Info:** A result of breeding between centipede and snake. It has grown legs like a centipede and is the size of a snake, ranging from 20 centimeters to 4 meters.

**Monster Traits:** Fast and poisonous.

**Monster Habitat:** Hollow trees, small caves.

**Monster Weakness:** Below the neck.

**Monster Name: Wolfear**

**Monster Info:** A mutation of an animal named wolf. It is an extremely social animal that loves to live and hunt in packs. It got its name as it induces fear in anyone who encounters them.

**Monster Traits:** Fast, very big, and numerous.

**Monster Habitat:** Large caves, hills.

**Monster Weakness:** Weaker when alone.

**Monster Name: Porcupoison**

**Monster Info:** A mutation of an animal named porcupine. They like to be left alone and not disturbed and are very spiky.

**Monster Traits:** Poisonous and spiky.

**Monster Habitat:** Rocky areas, dry areas.

**Monster Weakness:** Underside.

**Monster Name: Komodo Dragon**

**Monster Info:** Initially an animal, its danger level became more apparent after the formation of safe zones and was thus put into the list of monsters.

**Monster Traits:** Looks like a huge lizard and can run up to 25 km/h.

**Monster Habitat:** Areas with volcanic activities or extreme heat.

**Monster Weakness:** Underside.

**Monster Name: Radmelo**

**Monster Info:** A monster mutated from an animal named armadillo. It has very tough hide that can deflect weapons and sharp claws that can tear through skin and bones alike.

**Monster Traits:** Tough hide, sharp claws, digs and ignores attacks.

**Monster Habitat:** Forests, humid areas.

**Monster Weakness:** Underside and light.

Hob and Friz read about many monsters in the monster booklet and were amazed by how many of them have adapted to survive. Some of them, like ants, eagles, and some species of birds and insects, were especially quick to adapt and are hard to hunt in today's world. But reading about them at least made Hob and Friz aware of them so that they could avoid them if needed when the time comes.

After reading for around 4 hours, Friz and Hob felt tired again and decided to eat something. So, Hob went to get some food for them, and they ate together. Following this, they decided to sleep as their muscles still needed a lot of healing to recover from the harsh training.

Just as Hob was about to go to sleep and was climbing into bed, Friz came from behind him and whispered into his ears, "Are you sure you don't want to do it?" in a seductive voice.

"Well, since you want to do it that bad..." Hob started to say as he turned.

"Don't even think of it. Go to sleep," Friz said and kicked Hob into bed.

And they both started laughing at each other, going to sleep soon after.
