Won was currently sitting in front of Seven Great Immortal sect leaders and the four Great Demonic sect leaders. They kowtowed.
Won had called them to discuss new changes happening to sects, he decided to put in place.
They were quick to agree considered what happened a few days before Won's wedding.
...
The rise of a new Sovereign was certain to create great unrest.
Shock, awe and dissatisfaction were present simultaneously, and the world seemed to have come to a tipping point.
A single unfriendly breeze could sent the entirety of the East into a craze. Thus forces with enough ability to question came forth. Most notably by the petition of countless Empires, the Seven Great Immortal sects and the Four Great Demonic sects had gone forth to question the validity of Won's ascension.
It wasn't that they didn't fear Won. Some even admired and help great respect for Won. They had all seen Won like a lone Star flying through the sky, risking everything to protect his people. Defying all odds and toppling the trump card of Sangria. Furthermore Won was an exceptional War General. His methods seen as cruel and violent. He had created both an impression of amazement and fear. Yet that fear had turned into a desire to overthrow him.
Thus even though they were weak they requested the strong to question Won.
They had thought that the Top Empires would agree, but they had already knelt to Won and made clear their support.
...
The Leaders of the Seven Great Immortal sects and the Four Great Demonic sects faced Won. They all slightly bowed.
Won looked coldly upon those kneeling in front of him.
His voice echoed out, like a roar of thunder, "Why have you come."
Won's aura shot out in waves, unrestrained. Furthermore Won's Cultivation base created a fear in their hearts.
Even though he was two stages below them, the their instincts that had been honed through blood and steel was telling them in loud echos they had no chance.
Furthermore he even created a pressure as his Cultivation was released.
With Won's hand in the shape of the Shuni Mudra and his sharp eyes coldly dragging along, they began to tremble.
These were experts who could cause mountains to crumble and seas to dry. Even a simple sigh could cause great winds to form. They had even started Tao understanding. It wasn't difficult to comprehend the Tao at any point in life, but the actual use of it would only show up in a few stages in the mortal realm. For example in Foundation stage and Golden Core stage the Heavenly Pillars touched upon the Tao. The Nascent soul baby would gather the Tao essence and merge in into your inner world and thus the door to the Tao would be truly open to you. Before that it was simply thoughts. Yet those thoughts were still extremely valuable. Even if someone had horrible innate talent if they comprehended the Tao their speed of Cultivation would heavily surpass their peers and they would be leagues above in strength. That was from simple observation and understanding of the Tao, then beings in Dragons and Pheonixes stage who actually utilized the power were incomparably powerful.
Won had spent a billion years comprehending the Dharma and the Tao, his Tao was extremely vivid and inviolable.
Of course the degree wasn't all that invincible either. He hadn't gotten any lucky enlightenment's or grand divinations, it was something he had actively done. It could be said like this. While normally the Tao could be obtained in a myriad of ways, to truly reach a grand degree one needed more than anything two things. Time or Luck. Yet if one had to say which was more impressive it would be luck. Time meant you actively debated yourself and the truth. While Luck meant things would just seem to fall into place. The first could be compared to a man using a sword to deflect a arrow with nothing but will and drive, it was impressive, but when compared to the latter which was comparable to an expert who through some strange power could do the same thing as easily as breathing and just as naturally. Thus although Won had enlightened about the Tao he hadn't really reached great heights. The reason he had even come this far was because of his occasional meetings with his master, yet even then Won hadn't reached a realization and his billions of years could be considered wasteful if not for the fact it was packed full of experience that increased his combat prowess and martial arts.
The sect leaders said, "We have been gathered by the common people to assess his Majesties Sovereignty."
Won asked, "The common people or the bastards that seek power over everything else?"
The sect leader of the Winding Severing Sect said, "Your Majesty we are Immortal sects, things like the secular world and it's affairs matter not to us. Only the act of Pilgrimage towards the Immortal lands. Yet as Humans we would be rotten to forget out roots, thus even though our hearts are distinct and separated from the mortal world we must show concern for it."
Won's brows rose slightly.
He had a smile on his face, but it dissapeared soon after it surfaced.
Won said, "Is that so? I can understand very well what you mean. Yet... How can you concern over matters like this when you seem to neglect the matters of the Top Empires. Of course you could say that Perhaps it is because I am not a good ruler. I wonder is that what you think?"
The sect leader of the Winding Severing Sect was struck mute.
Won stood up and walked over to the window to the side. Through it misty mountain stretched out, and the clear blue sky rippled. Great canopy's filled the lands.
Won leaned there and said, "Don't forget even though you bunch like to call yourselves Immortals and leave behind legends, you are currently still mortals and rest upon my land. Thus you are subject to my rules and my Empires law. What do common people say. The Emperor is like the sun in the sky, whether you can survive with enrichment or die with droughts and Sufferings depends on him, or what else do they say. An Emperor in his Empires is like Heavens in the world."
The hidden meaning behind his words was sharp like a knife with no allowance for defiance.
They shuddered imagining it.
Won shrugged his shoulders and said, "Of course I can wholeheartedly understand your intentions. Yet shouldn't I as the Sovereign first observe your validity to judge me? To judge another is something tedious and difficult, it cannot just be done by anyone. Are you worthy to judge me?"
He sat on the windowsill his hair rolling about.
Won's eyes turned a slight purple and several of the sect leaders began to tremble.
They hurriedly slammed their foreheads down onto the ground and echoed out, "We greet his Majesty!"
Won's expression was unchanged, yet the other sect leaders found their faces twisted.
They reluctantly, as they broke away from the arrogance that had long since solidified in their bones and kowtowed.
Won smiled and nodded, "Well you may leave. Come back later, although the sects in the past held a far away status in the past in the future you all shall be the guardians, teachers and homes of all the Easterners. You barred and held close to your chest the way of Cultivation, which was founded by the common people. You greedy lot easily discarded the weak and needy and then you forced them to hold you in reverence, your disciples willfully causing chaos without any concern for the innocent."
Won's words echoed like thunder in their head and they all felt rather lightheaded. Yet it was true.
Ten thousand years ago Cultivation techniques could be found everywhere, while the better ones were held by their owners or were personally made ones, in the end it was freely accessible. It was later that a few groups of Immortal Practitioners took all those Cultivation techniques and holed them away acting as if Cultivation was their sole art. Now even the worst Cultivation techniques could cost a hundred mortals lifes worth.
Thus their faces turned both downcast and also red. They had in honestly been dumbfounded as they learnt this, they had effectively crippled their homeland for their greed. Yet that disgust turned to even greater greed. The rules of the the jungle that existed so fiercely in the Cultivation world had long since twisted their hearts and nature.
Life was fierce and they had to turn fiercer.
They left bowing.
Won's eyes stood still for quite a while. Eventually they closed.
He went to his seat and sat cross-legged. In his eyes a glow subtly flashed.
When he opened them a clarity shot out.
Won sighed and called Ozaris.
He said, "Do as we discussed before."
Ozaris nodded and left.
Soon carried with the winds were rumors. It wasn't unusual, but as they fell into the Emperor's of the various nations ears they trembled.
The rumors were all different opinions about Won's character.
Some said he was a ruthless man willing to allow blood to fall like rain. Some said he was a man who heavily viewed relationships.
As the lords heard then they found themselves split.
If this were true and they continued their actions they would likely be killed, but more importantly if perhaps out of all Empires they were the first to show their support. Perhaps... Perhaps they could get innumerable benefits!
Like that they rushed into a fervor and began to think of how to impress and show their support of Won.
Won accepted their gifts not giving them a definite conclusion.
...
Won stared out of a window, for quite a few days he's found his mind agitated. No matter what he did he would feel his heart beating incessantly as if out of breath.
He knew why, it was because he wanted to go to the west.
He wanted to see his mother, he wanted to see his father, he wanted closure.
Even to this day he felt both anger and disappointment towards his father. He wanted to kill him, the bloodlust was so great it could drive him insane. Yet there was this beating in blood.
In front of those feelings he was like a child quick to anger without any reason.
He couldn't let go of these feelings, they had been sewn to his soul. This was him. This was his wrath. He was no longer a boy who had no right to desire, he was a demon, A cruel God who carved a path full of Wrathful flames to reach where he was.
Sometimes he would forget that lost in his current situation, yet he would always remember.
He didn't know whether he would find happiness in killing his family. He wasn't someone so foolish to lose himself in revenge.
Yuna appeared behind him. She also had noticed his situation. She went close to him and sat.
She opened and closed her mouth repeatedly as if questioning Whether to say anything.
Eventually she stayed silent. She shook her head. This was his desicion to make whether a demon or what else, she would follow and support him. Only if she felt that he was destroying himself would she step in and fight as hard as she can for him.
He wasn't at that point, he was choosing how to free himself.
She simply gave her company to him. Even if she could not come up with an answer, she wanted to be his warmth when he embraced the coldness in himself. So he wouldn't be lost.
Won closed his eyes. Memories flashed through his eyes. The warmth and love of his mother. The hushed words that echoed out striking her and him. They were mean and brutal, like iron lashings. It was maddening seeing these people who had no right to say anything, insult his mother. He remembered the indifference his father had, he remembered when his mother had silently begged in the night for his father to protect him. He remembered everything. He remembered those shitty excuses. Nobility this and Nobility that. He was a bastard who excused all his behaviors as a repercussion of his status.
When his mother died no one wept for her, no one felt sorry for what they said and did. No they instead Jeered and laughed, as if this was right, as if they were justice and right and he and his mother were wrong.
He remembered his bleeding hands and how theirs eyes shook when he had his first fight. How instead of concern they held fear, as if they were scared that the scum they had insulted would kill them. They were pitiful weak people. They were ugly people who did and said however they wished not taking responsibility for their actions.
He remembered his aunt dying. How the world seemed to cave around him.
A young voice said, "It's funny isn't it? Bad people don't have locked doors and windows, they walk around doing however they wish as if they are free men. While innocent and good people lock their doors and windows and shiver away. How do bad people have more rights than good people? It's annoying. It's annoying."
The young voice, turned a bit older and he cursed and cursed out countless people.
Won's eyes closed as everything coalesced in him.
Suddenly he felt his cheek get wet. Tears began to fall down his face.
Hurriedly he wiped them away with his sleeve..
Yet a redness remained.
Slowly he stayed their his eyes stuck in place looking off as if in a trance.
The skies darkened as grey clouds rolled across. Splattered rain fell, embracing all of creation.
The long mountain chains buzzed as mist rose. If one listened extremely closely they could hear behind the ringing of the rain was the cries of mountains, the trembles of the trees.
Won stayed like that for an entire day, then two. Finally on the ninth day. His head looked up and lighting fell.
Forking tongues split across the sky.
Eventually he opened his mouth and said, "I can't forgive and I can't forget. I can't understand nor do I wish to. I have long since been consumed by wrath, but even that has washed away. Now the only thing that is important to me is..." His eyes trembled. He looked to his side. Yuna. "All that matters to me is what is in front of me. My happiness."
Won laughed as if someone with a billion gold coins, "I can't forgive nor can I forget, but they aren't worthy enough to require my attention. They are a passing wind. My life may have been filled with cruelty, but now it doesn't even matter anymore."
Won's eyes looked forward, "To free myself and begin my new life, I need to sever my past life."
With that a firm decisiveness filled his eyes. He wasn't getting revenge for himself, he wasn't falling to their whims and actions, no he was freeing himself.
Won grabbed Yuna and took her to their room.
He laid next to her. Staring as the slept.
Slowly he eyes trembled and she awoke.
She saw Won's big eyes in front of her and was suprised, but when she saw the small smile on his lips she wrapped her hands around his neck. She got closer to him, such that his boiling like warmth touched her.
Won smiled, "Hm? Why do you seem so happy?"
Yuna said, "Because you're happy."
Won laughed slightly.
Won whispered, "I'd be even happier if we could do it."
Yuna sighed and nodded.
Won laughed in joy.
...
Screens arose across the entirety of the East.
From the young to the old all could see.
Upon it was a young man with long pinkish white hair, of course this was Won.
Won smiled and said, "Citizens of the East. I am your Sovereign Emperor and today marks the day that we shall begin to conquer the West. From the West we shall then conquer the entire world. We shall stand at the head of all thar exists. I will be honest this is a selfish desire of mine, but that doesn't mean I am solely doing it for that reason."
His voice rang out, it at first was silent and then became like Thunder in everyone's heads.
"War is an eternal concept. Our deities and even monarchs are born from their ravaging flames. War is harsh and cruel, full of death and tragedy and for many it is useless. It is the needless wastage of human life for a few men's greed. I admit that is what war is. Yet war can also be a chance! A chance for me and all of the East. A chance so that what we love, what we cherish and what we hold close to our hearts will never extinguish due to some foreign agent's power. Time is long and perhaps yes or no there may come a time when the West like in the past attacks us again. My loved ones, your loved ones, everyone we hold and cherish will be at risk. The only way to protect my people is by becoming the sole ruler of this world! You may call me demented, you may call me a villain, let history mock my name! Yet I shall forsake my Humanity to protect my family. Let us engage in bloodied war for freedom! For severance from suffering. In a world where we are surrounded by enemies we are never safe, so let us fight with our lives on the line if need be! Follow me my people!"
As soon as he finished there was silence. Yet then like a chain reaction everyone was pumping their fists to the sky, screaming at the top of their voice.
The Heavens twisted above and an intense aura flushed across the East.
