Chapter: Secrets and The Chimera

Layla shifted comfortably in the bed as her eyes fluttered open. A smile slithered upon her lips as she acknowledged the presence of sunlight that crept through an open window.

Slowly, Layla used her hands to feel the emptiness present beside her on the bed. She had expected to embrace the warmth of Zane, but he was nowhere to be found. Layla averted her eyes to see that Zane was no longer sleeping beside her. He had already awoken to begin his training with Ares.

Layla then effortlessly sat herself up as she stretched the laziness from her bones. Suddenly, she noticed how empty her skin felt. She looked down in shock to see her skin shamelessly exposed without a hint of clothing.

"Oh right..." She muttered to herself as the memories flooded her mind— her flustered face becoming slightly red. "I've got to have more nights like those..."
