Zane is an optimistic, second-year college student who gets caught up in the end of the world. Following the end of the year 2020 and its pandemic, a species known as Apocrypha have invaded the Earth to harvest humans as food. Follow Zane through his suffering and constant mistakes as he meets both friends and foes on his journey to stay alive. Will he be able to survive? Or will he find the power to do much more..? ***** NB: This is not a Cultivation or System novel. It is an end of the world book. Chapter: Defend it, Hades!

Following the orders of Minerva, Vesta slowly approached Hades. He stood at the exit of the base, looking up at the stars with a cigarette perched against his lips. The area was lonely and secluded. It was almost as if he purposely chose the spot to be alone.

"I thought cigarettes were bad for the brain. I didn't expect an Apocrypha to be using one," exclaimed Vesta as she approached him.

Hades calmly let out a cloud of smoke as he turned to face her. The moonlight above quickly began illustrating his facial features, revealing that he had taken a human form— the body of Jeffrey.

"With everything that's going on, can you blame me? Right now, I feel like a failure..." Replied Hades.

"A stress reliever, huh..? Don't we all need that..."

"If only things could go back to the way they were... No, even better than they were back then..."
