Chapter: A Step Closer

With anxiety coursing through their veins, everyone directed themselves back to the surface. Most of them were carrying guns or some other type of weaponry. The night sky was finally turning to morning and a fresh scent made itself known within the air.

Bryce and Mark sighed as they watched the people they swore to protect, march unknowingly into the arms of the Anunnaki. They had tricked them into thinking that a military envoy was on their way to pick them up. This would surely breed hatred further down the line. Unfortunately, it was the best method to minimize death.

On the other hand, Zane walked calmly with his eyes peered forward. He was hoping the Anunnaki would appear soon. They didn't need any infected or Apocrypha to find them before they had arrived.
