~3 days after the dinner incident
Nakul was in his school. And for some reason, Nakul wasn't able to forget the feeling of being warped around by Dhiraj's arms. It wasn't that he was turned on by it or anything. He just.....he just missed the feeling being hugged. But then he can always go to his sister and hug her. Or his 3-year-old little niece, Tara who he loved so much.
He shouldn't be wanting to be hugged by someone 'else' right?
He slapped himself. 'Snap yourself out of it. I should be focusing on the students and not on some who forced me to hug him.'
[A/N: Kuku baby, aren't you exaggerating things? Dhiraj requested YOU and YOU agreed]
It was the end of the school and he made his way towards his car. From his peripheral vision he spotted a familiar black car at a distance. He looked in its direction praying it wasn't a car belonging to a certain someone.
The man wearing his infamous smug smile was visible.
Nakul rubbed his eyes to confirm whether or not he was hallucinating. He knew he wasn't when that smug face started waving at him. Soon he started to make his way towards Nakul. Even though Nakul's legs trembled a bit, his rage was just too much for him to focus on the color rush.
On the other hand, Dhiraj seemed rather energetic as he was practically hoping towards Nakul with that foolish grin of his. He soon reached Nakul.
Before Nakul could open his mouth to say anything, Dhiraj put his fingers on Nakul's lips, signaling him to stay quiet.
"I'm sure you have a LOT of questions. But I think you will prefer it if our conversation continues in the car, right?"
'That makes sense.' Nakul thought and he nodded.
Soon they were seated in Nakul's car.
And Nakul finally lost it, "Okay. I think you WANT me to file for a restraining order against you."
Nakul was so sure that he won't be seeing this smug face anytime soon. But here he was, this man, who shamelessly approached him just 3 days after he promised he would leave Nakul alone.
"Hey. Hey...hey" Dhiraj tried to calm his baby down. "I know what you have to say. And I definitely didn't forget about our promise. But just listen to me once, okay?"
"What?"
"Look. I LOVE YOU-"
"I don't-"
"And It's my love for you that's making me do this" Dhiraj overruled Nakul. Nakul crossed his arms, practically restraining himself from blowing off. He turned his face away from Dhiraj. Seeing that Nakul was a bit calm, Dhiraj continued.
"Let's go on a date!!"
"WHAT" finally Nakul blasted. He took out his rage by hitting the horn really hard, attracting some traction from the nearly standing people. The security guard came up to look at what was going on.
Seeing him approach, Nakul quickly changed his expression and gave him a thumbs up, indicating all-is-well. Dhiraj forced a small smile too. But as soon as the guard left, Nakul turned to face Dhiraj.
"I meant, let's hangout" Dhiraj corrected his words in an attempt to appease Nakul.
"I guess I should definitely get a restraining order against you."
"Yes, do that. In fact, I myself have an offer. Hangout with me for a few times. And even after that, you don't want to be me.....I will never contact you again..."
"I....." Nakul opened his mouth to say something but again was cut off by Dhiraj.
"And....And I'll even sign a contract with you. You can add any clause you want as indemnity." pausing for a second, Dhiraj let those words sink in Nakul's mind.
"So you are telling me that-"
"Yeah.. We will decide to dat- I mean hangout a couple of times and after that, you feel you don't want to be with me, I'll never see you again. And since you aren't sure about this, I'm ready to sign a contract with you. You can add any clause you want. Money, public shaming I dont...I dont know....anything that you want to add to prevent me from meeting you again or something that you can do if I met you again" Dhiraj was nearly breathless due to his nervousness.
"Ahh....you know this is weird right?" Nakul said, unsure of what was happening.
"I know."
"Like. this doesn't make any sense."
"I know" Dhiraj let out a nervous laugh.
Taking a minute to understand what Dhiraj was saying, Nakul replied, "so you are telling me that we sign a contract of some sort. Stating that: after spending some time together, if I still don't want to see you, I can add a clause that will prevent you to do so." he paused for another second, looking directly at an anxious Dhiraj
"Like if you break this promise-of not meeting me ever again, I can enforce this clause and rip you off your status or money- maybe?"
"Yeah. You can do that if you want. Anything you want."
"You are stupid." Nakul couldn't help but point that out.
Dhiraj inched a bit closer to Nakul and whispered, "I don't mind being that for you."
'Talk about being a cheesy fool.' Nakul remarked in his mind.
"Give me a moment to consider"
Yes. Dhiraj's plan worked. He was glad that Nakul was considering it.
'He is insane. So he is ready to give up everything he has earned so that he can go out with me a few times? He IS insane.' Nakul's think-tank started.
'Hmm...it's not bad giving this a shot. I mean I have nothing to lose. Hanging out a few times won't do any harm. Plus, it's just a few times, right? If I can get rid of him after that and I also have a contract that I can use against him in the future, isn't that a win-win for me? I mean I'll just be able to go back to my life after this.'
Concluding that it wasn't a bad deal after all, Nakul turned to face Dhiraj.
"Okay, how many times do we have to 'hang-out' ?" asked Nakul, air-quoting the 'hang-out' part.
"Umm....21 times?" Dhiraj choose 21 since it takes 21 days for a human to build up a habit. Since his plan was to get Nakul habituated to him, 21 was just the correct number, right?
"Huh" Nakul was unamused, "three, max to max" he plainly stated.
"WHAT? 3...? Are you fuc-? Are you kidding me?" Dhiraj let out a hysterical laugh, not believing what the man had just spouted out.
"3. That's it"
"That's not fair. At least 15 would be good."
"Threeeeeee" Nakul not backing off at all.
"12?!"
"Five...?!"
"At least 10. You know 5 is too less." Dhiraj nearly pleaded.
Nakul paused for a moment. He scratched his chin as if carefully calculating what he had to say next.
"7. That's the max I can go for." Nakul said in a 'whatever-man' attitude.
"10?! please. it's not that far from 7. It's just 3 more numbers." Dhiraj was practically begging now.
"Okay. I'll go back to 5. That's-"
"Okay 7. Let's do 7 dates"
[A/N: I'm highly doubting Dhiraj's negotiating skills. But then it's his baby who's in question here. Of course, he will do anything]
"Dates?!" Nakul questioned, as if telling Dhiraj to choose his words or else he will.....
"Hang outs-" Dhiraj understood what Nakul meant "I meant that. So, 7 is fixed right?"
"Yeah. whatever." Nakul shrugged off his shoulders lightly. And Dhiraj was over the moon that his plan worked out!!
"Great!!" Dhiraj had a smile as if he had conquered the whole world. And seeing it gave Nakul's heart a small squeeze. Seeing Dhiraj smile, he unconsciously smiled back.
"So when can we meet?"
"We will decide that after you get the papers done." Nakul gave him his professional smile.
"Ah...okay. So, I'll get back to you when they are done. I'll call you. Do pick up my call." Dhiraj said with a twinkling eyes.
"Okay" Nakul nodded.
"Okay" Dhiraj grinned more.
"Ah...okay?!" Nakul wasn't sure why Dhiraj wasn't leaving.
"Okay!!" Dhiraj replied again with sparkling eyes.
"You can....leave"
Taking the cue, Dhiraj left in a clumsy manner, half hitting his head on top of Nakul's car and half showing off his foolishly big smile.
Nakul couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.
After Dhiraj left, he rested his head on the steering wheel, letting go off a huge sigh. He felt drained and couldn't help but feel a teeny bit anxious about what will happen on their first date.....meaning "hang-out".
