In the vast space, high above the surface of the earth, unseen to any and all mortal means, two beings of supernatural origins were engaged in a conversation.

The smaller one looked like the descriptionof what soul is like in literature while the other, much larger one was just a humanoid seemingly made out of white plastic.

"Just to recap" the human soul like figure questioned. "You sent your envoy, the 'truck kun' you borrowed from your friend to send me down to your duplicate of DxD universe to fix up the world to its fate, just because you are a cheap bastard? "

"Oh don't be such a stick in the mud." The spectral shape tried coaxing him." Besides, you are getting a reward aren't you?"

"Right! What was that again? You want to send me off to another word after i do the work? Besides, why did you even choose me. Aren't there like a thousand people who would love to go off to DXD world. Why choose me?"

The pure white humanoid was a ROB. And he was talking to a soul he had snatched from earth to fix up his own universe, a maintenance worker in other words.

"Well..." the ROB scratched his hairless head." I mean, i can't just take people willy-nilly, you know. There are conditions."

"Like what?"

"Well, first of all, the person should be at teenage level. Older the people are, the less they are adaptive. And too young means they lack the maturity and intelligence to do the job. Then the gender should be male, because I need a soul to act the part of Riser Phenix." ROB began listing out."They should have a basic understanding of Riser Phenix's character, creative enough to use demonic energy, live within ten square meters area from your city hall and have a spitfire personality."

"So, I bet there are hundreds of such people" the soul, who was known as Richard in his life replied, remembering his otaku friends.

"And they should not get attached or get frisky with the main characters " ROB revealed the final and probably the most decisive condition, making Richard understand his current situation.

His friends fulfilled all the criteria except for the last one, as expected from hormonal and single boys of at that age should be. And while Richard himself was a fan of anime and manga, he hadn't fallen far down enough to let a character he had read about become the love of his life. Besides he didn't find many of the characters in DxD to be as appealing as they should be, personality wise.

Rias was a lazy and spoilt. Akeno was a sadistic masochist. Koneko was emotionally dead along with Xenobia. Irina had a crush on Issei along with Asia. And the only devil who was perfect marriage material was married to a siscon brother/demon King. And Richard was no homewrecker making him the perfect choice by default.

"Besides the reward is awesome too" the ROB said after a moment of silence. "You see, we make stories into our worlds because they already exist as concepts. And I got this Harry Potterverse world for sale from my buddy #^%&@,*£*£&...." he continued to rant indescribable babble for some time.

"And if you do the work, I'm giving you that world. Even if the power level is low, you can become a low level ROB if you manage it correctly, you know? "

That did intrigue Richard. "Fine...." He finally relented" so what do i need to do?"

"Just be Riser Phenix and loose to Issei. After that, I'll pull you out."

They discussed the plans for some time till Richard was finally ready for departure.

"This is it then" Richard voiced out, hoping to calm his jittery nerves.

"Yup" the ROB proclaimed before waving his hand. Richard felt a falling sensation, as a wormhole appeared between him and earth sucking his soul in. "Good luck" Richard was barely able to make out ROB's final words before he got sucked in, like a cotton ball that got sucked into a vacuum cleaner. And when he woke up he was Baby Riser.
