Chapter 23: Nimbus 2000

Arthur was not surprised at all when he heard this.

Harry was recruited into Gryffindor's Quidditch team by Professor McGonagall just for catching a ball.

Thinking about how Cho might join the Quidditch team this year, Arthur thought joining the team would give him more time to spend with her.

After all, they were not in the same grade and didn't have many chances to see each other in class.

So he nodded.

"Of course, Professor, I'm very interested. But can I really join the team like this? I heard that first-year students are not allowed to join the Quidditch team."

"Don't worry, Mr. Gaunt, I will take care of this matter."

Professor Flitwick was very happy when Arthur agreed, and he told him not to think about anything else because he would take care of everything.

Professor Flitwick stood up and jumped onto the floor, walking over to a large box by the window.

He opened the lock, bent down to go inside, and took out a long package, handing it to Arthur.

"Professor, what's this?" Arthur asked, feeling a bit puzzled.

"This is a Nimbus 2000, the latest product of the year. It was sent to me by one of my former students who works as a designer at the Nimbus manufacturer. Originally, I was going to give it to Roger Davies to use, but I believe you will be more suited for it," Professor Flitwick explained.

Arthur was amazed when he heard this.

Professor McGonagall had bought Harry a broomstick with her own money, but he never expected that Professor Flitwick would just give Arthur A a brand-new broomstick like this.

It was no wonder that Ravenclaw House had less pure-blood families, but they had no shortage of talented people with specialized skills.

These people were spread out throughout the wizarding world, occupying important positions. Once they operated, they would certainly have a strong influence.

No wonder Slytherin always loses to Gryffindor and never touches Ravenclaw.

Arthur didn't hesitate to accept the Nimbus 2000 and hugged it tightly.

"Thank you, Professor. I will use it well. When should I report for training?"

"Next Wednesday. That's when the new batch of players will be selected. Look for Mr. Davis, he will decide which position you will take."

Professor Flitwick gave Arthur a time and sent him on his way.

Arthur didn't waste any time and returned to the common room with the Nimbus 2000 in his arms. A group of young wizards in the common room noticed Arthur's return and gathered around him.

Arthur could only answer a few questions before sending them away, finally able to find some peace and quiet.

Cho also walked up to him and asked, "What's that?" pointing to the package in Arthur's hands.

"It's a Nimbus 2000," Arthur replied.

"Given by Professor Flitwick?" Cho asked in surprise.

"Yeah, he wants me to join the Quidditch team, but my position hasn't been decided yet," Arthur explained.

Cho was even more surprised. "But aren't first-year students are not allowed to join the Quidditch team?"

"So what? Professor McGonagall just called Harry to her office earlier, and he'll probably join Gryffindor's Quidditch team too," Arthur shrugged.

Arthur didn't care.

"I heard from Professor Flitwick that the intra-house tryouts will be next Wednesday. What about you, Cho? Will you be joining as well?"

"Of course, my goal this year is to become Ravenclaw's seeker," Cho replied, her spirit was obvious.

With Cho's fighting spirit ignited Arthur thought for a moment.

"Since our morning classes are over, why don't we find a bit of open space and give the Nimbus 2000 a try?"

"Can I ride it too?"

"Of course, it's just a broomstick." With that, Arthur took hold of Cho's hand, and they walked out.

"Let's go to the Great Hall for lunch, and then we'll go to the Black Lake and try it out."

After finishing their meal, the two walked to the Black Lake for a special training session. Watching Cho happily riding the Nimbus and performing different moves in the sky, Arthur decided to buy her a Nimbus as a Christmas present this year.

As for this one, it was given to him by Professor Flitwick, so it wouldn't be good to give it to someone else.

The following week, the school returned to its regular routine, and the first-year wizards slowly adapted to life at Hogwarts.

The most obvious change was the increase in homework.

One day, Arthur was in the library and saw Harry and Ron begging with Hermione to lend them her essay for the Potions class.

The old bat, Professor Snape, had assigned them a three-foot-long essay with single-spaced lines.

However, this didn't affect Arthur much since he had written many papers in his previous life and could handle this task easily.

He even had time to attend Quidditch tryouts with Cho. They both successfully joined the Quidditch team.

In the end, Arthur chose to be a beater, and in his own words, being a beater could better protect Cho.

Cho only needed to focus on catching the golden snitch, and he would take care of everything else. He would protect Cho.

The young witch had never heard such sweet words before and was successfully tricked by Arthur into giving him a kiss.
