Chapter 228: Death Eaters

Late at night, everyone was asleep inside the tent.

In Arthur's bedroom, Cho held onto the blanket tightly, watching Arthur with caution.

"I've already admitted defeat in our bet, so why are you still looking at me like that?"

Arthur felt awkward and unsure.

With the alluring girl before him and a burning desire in his heart, Arthur's mind raced.

"Hehehe, Cho, I take it back!"

Just as Arthur was about to embrace his inner villain and become the Big Bad Wolf, an urgent knock on the door interrupted him.

"Arthur! Quickly, get up; there's an emergency!"

Harry's voice was hurried, showing that something important was happening outside.

In an instant, the atmosphere changed completely, and even Cho, who had just closed her eyes, acted quickly and pushed Arthur out of the way.

"Phew! Don't be angry, don't be angry!"

Suppressing his frustration, Arthur and Cho hurriedly prepared and went outside the tent.

In the distance, several fires were burning in the bushes, and people were fleeing as if escaping from something.

Laughter and drunken curses emanated from that direction, and a group of wizards with wands were shooting flames all around.

"What should we do, Arthur?"

Now that Mr. Weasley was absent, Arthur became the group's leader.

Earlier, the noise outside had caught Mr. Weasley's attention, and Cedric's father had taken him and some other adult Weasleys to maintain order.

Arthur narrowed his eyes as the group of people slowly approached their tent, and the others saw them clearly as well.

The campsite's manager and his family were floating above them thanks to a group of wizards wearing hoods and masks.

They let out a sinister laugh and were teasing some Muggles, scaring a young girl who had fainted but waking her up again.

"What should we do?"

Cho asked.

In a cold tone, Arthur said, "You all go inside, and I'll take care of these scum."

Hearing Arthur's words, everyone nodded and went into the tent.

They trusted Arthur's abilities and knew they might only cause trouble if they stayed. Before Cho left, she reminded Arthur not to kill them.

The group of masked wizards noticed Arthur's luxurious campsite and, with wicked smiles, controlled a few Muggles to approach him.

Arthur waved his wand, awakening several large trees and turning them into his tree warriors, who attacked the masked wizards.

They were angry at what he did, and one of them fired a firework into the sky to signal for help.

Curses hit the tree warriors, but they only shattered a few wooden parts without slowing their movements.

"Ahh!"

A masked person failed to dodge and was harshly slammed into the ground, causing serious and severe injuries.

"Reducto"

Another dark wizard, who had arrived from nowhere, cast a curse.

Arthur used his wand to guide the curse, hitting one of the masked men and causing blood and flesh to fly.

Witnessing Arthur's astonishing power, some masked people focused on the tree warriors with magic, while others launched an attack on Arthur.

More and more dark wizards appeared, and a dozen of them surrounded Arthur.

Perhaps due to their fear of the Ministry of Magic, they didn't dare use the Unforgivable Curses, but they freely used dark and harmful curses.

Unfortunately, not even the silver shield that Arthur summoned broke.

"Protego Diabolica"

A ring of silver flames appeared on the ground around Arthur, quickly forming a towering column of fire.

At the same time, in the nearby jungle, a green firework shot up into the sky, forming the Dark Mark: a large skull and a huge snake entangled.

Seeing the Dark Mark, the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic hurried their steps.

With the ongoing battle around them, they couldn't use Disapparition, so they relied on spells to enhance their speed as they rushed to the scene.

When they arrived, they saw Arthur standing in front of the tent, with a dozen dark wizards lying neatly on the ground, their bodies marked with burns from the flames.

Some of them even smelled like burned flesh, which made the Aurors feel sick.

They aimed their wands at Arthur with nervousness.

Although these masked people were definitely not good people, Arthur's brutality made them wary as well.

"Put down your wands! Otherwise, we will take action!"

Auror's tone was unfriendly. Arthur frowned, having just dealt with these dark wizards, and now these Aurors came to cause trouble.

Just as Arthur was about to teach the Aurors a lesson too, a few more figures rushed over.

"Stop! Do not aim your wands at Mr. Gaunt!"

Seeing this scene, Fudge shouted loudly in sweat.

Hearing the Minister's orders, the Aurors reluctantly lowered their wands but remained vigilant towards Arthur.

"Mr. Gaunt, what's going on here?"

Fudge approached Arthur, asking about the situation.

"It's nothing. These Death Eaters were torturing three Muggles at random and were preparing to attack me and my friends. I stopped them. No need to thank me."

Of course, the truth was not as simple as Arthur described. After stopping these dark wizards, he tossed them one by one into the ring of fire.

Ignoring Arthur's dark joke, the phrase "Death Eaters" startled Fudge.

He stammered, "Mr. Gaunt, you might be mistaken. These people were just acting badly because they'd had too much to drink. They have nothing to do with Death Eaters."

"What about the Dark Mark in the sky then?"

Fudge's words left Percy speechless as well.

A few Aurors followed behind as more wizards arrived under the leadership of Bartemius Crouch. Bartemius's eyes were fixed on the group of people on the ground.

Fudge attempted to convince Arthur to change his story, as he didn't want this kind of situation to happen.

However, Arthur didn't care what he said. He waved his wand, revealing the true identities of these wizards.

"Mr. Bartemius, do you know all these people?"

Looking at each familiar face, Bartemius nodded silently and said, "I know them all."

"Well, as a First-Class Order of Merlin receiver and a member of the Wizengamot, I accuse these Death Eaters of attacking innocent Muggles and assaulting underage wizards."

Arthur said.

Hearing Arthur's words, Fudge felt utterly hopeless.

Bartemius nodded. He was a determined hardliner who believed Aurors should use Unforgivable Curses against Death Eaters during Voldemort's reign.

Unfortunately, the fact that his own son was a Death Eater caused a serious downfall in his reputation, losing him the chance to become the Minister of Magic.

Bartemius' subordinates controlled the surviving Death Eaters.

As he looked at those who were burned to death, a trace of satisfaction flickered in his eyes.

Inside the tent, Cho and the others heard the noise outside and knew the situation had been resolved, so they came out.

"Crouch! So, you are here. There's something you should know."

Cedric's father, Amos Diggory, approached Bartemius, carrying an unconscious house-elf, his expression very serious.

In the light of the campfire, Bartemius could see the appearance of the house-elf in Diggory's hands, and his expression immediately changed drastically.
