59. Loyalty (Part 2)

Aurelius always believed that the Fidelius Charm was simply a bug.

It's not about trust; it's a literal vulnerability. This curse caused many unexplainable aspects in the original plot.

For instance, why didn't James Potter become the secret keeper himself? Even if he didn't want to burden Dumbledore with additional secrets, he could have done it himself. Why did he leave it to Sirius or even Peter Pettigrew?

And why did Sirius, the supposed secret keeper, draw attention to himself by running around outside? It would make more sense for a secret keeper to hide under the Fidelius Charm. Wasn't he afraid of being discovered by the enemy if his behavior as a secret keeper was so illogical?

If the secret keeper couldn't be the person being kept secret, that would explain James Potter's refusal to keep the secret himself. However, Aurelius distinctly remembered that Bill later became the secret keeper. This is a contradiction, and it highlights the loopholes in the spell itself.

There are more issues with the plot. It's unreasonable to send someone to pretend to be Harry and confuse the public, risking exposure, when a loyalty charm exists. Wouldn't it be better to place a Fidelius Charm on Harry instead?

Another example is the potential for misuse of the Fidelius Charm. If someone found a secret keeper as an accomplice, the person being kept secret could carry out criminal activities without hesitation. They could break into Gringotts or cause chaos and disappear without a trace. They could even create an invincible assassin organization, as long as the secret keeper remained uncatchable.

These thoughts are outrageous to contemplate.

"I have a question. As far as I know, it seems that the person being kept secret cannot be the keeper of the Fidelius Charm, right?" Aurelius raised his question He didn't mention Bill's situation. Tina glanced at him and sweetly smiled, saying, "It appears that Mr. Dumbledore only knows one side of the story."

"Oh? I'm intrigued to hear the details," Aurelius responded.

Tina seemed open and candid about sharing this information. "You're correct. The person being kept secret cannot take on the role of the secret keeper. But who said I am the person being kept secret? How would you communicate with me if you were in my position?"

Aurelius was shocked to learn about this operation. Tina's words immediately cleared up his doubts. What Tina Sebastian kept secret wasn't herself, but merely her safe house. There was no requirement for the person being kept secret to be a talented individual. In this way, she bypassed the curse's restrictions and assumed the secret keeper's identity.

Then, some contradictions in the Harry Potter story can be explained.

James Potter and the others kept the secret of their family of three, not the location, so James Potter couldn't be the secret keeper himself.

Bill, on the other hand, keeps his home a secret, so he can be the secret keeper.

For James Potter, their family of three is more important. They can't leave their home, right? Who knows how long the war will last? So James Potter, trusting his friends, passed the secret keeper role to others to prioritize his family's safety.

Bill chose to rely on himself, but the trade-off was that once he left the house, he would no longer be protected by the secret.

Although this doesn't explain all of Aurelius's confusion, it can be considered a partial solution.

In his heart, he has elevated the importance of the Fidelius Charm, now considering it a priority to learn.

The streets of Siren City are very narrow, with all traffic relying on magic ships.

Aurelius had already seen the bustling activity of large ships and small boats coming and going to and from Siren City. Now, as midnight approached, Siren City appeared even more alluring.

Aurelius noticed some suspicious glances in the corner, indicating that something criminal might be taking place.

During the day, Siren boats come and go, while sirens and demons dance wildly at night.

This group of people stood out, but perhaps it was because of Zouwu's intimidating presence that no one dared to provoke them.

After a smooth journey, passing through multiple ropeways and plank roads built along the houses, Tina finally halted in front of an inconspicuous door.

They had already obtained the address in advance, so they were familiar with it, and the house's secret was not kept from them.

"Please come in," Tina said, opening the door and inviting them inside.

This house had been enchanted with a traceless expansion spell. This spell was so convenient that it could create a vast space without requiring much room.

Originally, Aurelius had planned to take some time to steal some divisions from Skender, but now he had no opportunity.

The room had a simple layout, with just a cabinet containing wands placed against the wall, along with some food and everyday necessities.

It looked like a backup safe house.

"Alright, tell me what you have to say. It seems that I have never mentioned my last name. That should be a secret throughout the entire magical world. How do you know?" Aurelius cut to the chase."Because I am Sebastian," Tina poured tea for the two of them and explained with a smile, "My grandparents established the earliest Siren City. It was they who recommended and brought together the human wizards to sign the contract with the Sirens. Together, we built this unique and miraculous place in the magic world."

"Uh-huh -" Aurelius couldn't comment, as he was not here to listen to the story; he just wanted to know what he needed to know.

"I, Tina Sebastian, am the only Sebastian in Siren now, and the only person with the blood of a human wizard and a mermaid Siren. After my father's death, I should inherit the title of Lord of Siren City."

"This seems to be your family's story, right? It has nothing to do with my problem," Aurelius interrupted.

"Don't be impatient, Mr. Dumbledore. I am proficient in the Siren language. This is also the only part of Siren City where only I can communicate with the sirens. So naturally, I can also request something from them," Tina smiled, looking at him.

Aurelius couldn't help but laugh, "You're not going to tell me that your sirens, who grew up in the Western Atlantic Ocean, discovered my surname, Dumbledore, right? Since you know my surname is Dumbledore, you should know what this surname means."
