Chapter 17 - First Day 05.

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

Snap kept displaying his daggers floating in front of him as they continued to reveal their unique details to all who looked, wondering what kind of weapon it was.

"Is that a Muggle weapon?" Lucinda asked beside him, with a hint of disgust in her voice.

"You could say that," Snape responded, not caring whether the girl would like the answer or not.

Minerva had stopped looking stunned and tapped her wand for a diagnostic... leaving her even more surprised and turning her gaze back to the boy in front of her. "Mr. Snape, I must admit you've done an excellent job here, surpassing all expectations. You've managed to make your objectives 100% iron," she said, though she wanted to know more about how Snape had so perfectly executed the task on the first try and in duplicate at the same time. "But I've never seen a student perform this kind of thing on two objects at the same time in their fifth year, and I don't recall you having such a great talent for transmigration," she commented, looking at him like a hawk.

Snape did not take his eyes off the blades and answered the question. "I wasn't very interested in transmigration before, but I might have changed my mind, and you could say I studied quite a bit during my holidays, as I re-read all the books from the first year," he said calmly.

Professor Minerva had to raise an eyebrow at that, as if true, Snape would become a dedicated student in her subject. "That's surprising," she said, a bit taken aback, but nonetheless looked at the rest of the class. "You may continue with the exercise now. It would be good to follow Mr. Snape's example," the professor said as she nodded one last time to Snape before going back to assist some students, while everyone resumed practicing, still looking at Snape from time to time.

Meanwhile, the girl next to him, Lucinda, didn't stop asking even with her disdain for Muggle weapons. "How did you do that? I didn't know you were so incredible at transmigration," she said, waiting for a good response from Snape.

"I wasn't," he said dryly. "Just recently discovered that transmigration is quite useful. Maybe before I didn't see the potential in it, but it's certainly important," he admitted.

For Snape, it was a fascinating magical path, after all, being able to transform objects into others could be quite fatal on a battlefield, even for him, who was a guardian, this ability could have made his life much easier over the years.

'It was good to look at them, but now they are in the past and it's better for me not to get stuck in that now,' Snape thought, as he made some movement with his wand and the daggers twisted in the air until they transformed back into the previous object, half of a broken quill on each side.

The student tried to talk to Snape after that, but he ignored her as she attempted to do the same with her quill, without much success, and the same could be said for the rest of the class, as the lesson continued and all the students, whether Slytherin or Gryffindor, tried numerous times, but without any success.

Bored, Snape opened the book and started moving to the advanced chapters, but the entire chapter talked about how to perform the transmigration he had just done up to the middle of the book, and Snape didn't find all that theory very useful.

'I have a lot of scientific knowledge... But I still lack a lot of information in some specific areas...' he thought, knowing that Hogwarts couldn't provide everything he wanted.

'I owe a visit to the public library or even go buy some encyclopedias at a Muggle bookstore to acquire scientific books. After all, unlike everyone here, I think it's important to mix Muggle study with magic, since the understanding is much greater in what you do with your wand, and it could improve various magical areas...' he thought, and he might even find many answers to his current problems.

He continued flipping through the books while there were looks at him, "How could Snape have changed so much..." Black said next to Potter.

"He definitely did something, no one can change so much after a few months..." He said, looking at him intently.

"Should we act against him? He seems so different..." Peter Pettigrew said with some fear.

"Why would we be afraid of him? Just because he got taller and surprised Professor Minerva with some improvement in transmigration?" Potter spoke disdainfully.

Lily, a bit close by next to a friend, looked at Snape with her eyes fixed on him. "Stop staring at him like that," her friend said.

"I..." She was a bit stunned before returning to her lesson, but still glanced at Snape occasionally, wondering what had happened to him. Not only had his appearance changed, but she knew Snape had never been good with Transfiguration, wondering where this gift came from. After all, Snape had always focused on potions, had he now surpassed everyone in fifth-year Transfiguration? She wondered.

'Maybe... I should find out, but this doesn't seem like the Snape I knew...!' She concluded in her mind and decided she would have to find out later.

Professor Minerva came over to Snape's table again after helping some more students, curious about what he was doing. "Are you reviewing some lessons in the books...?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm seeing if there's anything useful for me..." He simply said, and she swallowed hard. Snape hadn't called her by her title even once, being quite disrespectful, but she restrained herself, feeling she wouldn't like the response if she demanded titles.

"Why this interest in transmigration, Mr. Snape?" She asked.

"I became interested after some things happened," He said vaguely.

"What do you hope to achieve in this study?" She asked with interest.

"Things," He spoke simply, leaving the student seated next to him choking while the professor herself bit her tongue.

She looked at him for a while, while Snape was still reading the book. "Do you intend to pursue deeper studies? I can help you if you want," She suggested, wanting an opportunity to ask Snape more probing questions.

"No," He responded, turning the page. He already had no respect for this woman and did not intend to start.

Lucinda next to him went blank, while other students around were also quite stunned hearing Snape's responses to the professor.

Minerva couldn't hold back any longer, "I would like you to respond politely and refer to me with a respectful title," She drew the attention of the entire class at that moment.

Snape closed the book and looked at her then, staring her in the eyes, "Respectful titles are for those we respect, and you, I have none," He said. He didn't even want to come to the class, it was just a requirement from the headmaster to meet his demands, but he also wouldn't be fake with people he dislikes.

"..."

The entire class went silent at that moment, and even the Slytherins were taken aback.

"Snape!! How dare you speak to Professor Minerva in that tone!" Potter growled from his table.

Snape didn't respond to him and waited for the professor's response, "Aren't you going to respond, Snape, you coward!" Potter didn't like being ignored there.

"Silence, Potter, wasn't the broken nose warning enough?" Snape said without turning to him, leaving many with a confused look while Potter grew even angrier.

"You...!" He was about to say something, but the professor interrupted him.

"Silence, everyone. I can take care of myself," She said sternly, and her gaze returned to Snape. "I see you have no respect, so I am removing you from my classes until you can speak respectfully and use titles, otherwise, you no longer need to enter through that door," She spoke sternly, and Snape seemed unfazed by it.

"Fine, I'll just come for the O.W.L.s," he said, after all, the O.W.L.s were taken in the fifth year. He moved his wand, and all his belongings went into his bag; he turned and started to leave the classroom, leaving the professor somewhat surprised by that kind of behavior that seemed not to care about her class, just the final exams.

As everyone watched, Snape passed through the door without caring about anyone and followed the corridors of Hogwarts while many students were still in their classes. It wasn't long before it was midday, and as he headed for the grand staircase, students began to flood the corridors, with Snape following and ignoring them.

He approached an area where there was almost no one, after all, he didn't want to go to the common room where he would be the big topic of the day, and approached a large painting of a fruit bowl on the wall.

'If I'm not mistaken, this is where the kitchen is...' He murmured, accessing his memories. Sometimes Snape didn't want to go to the common room and came here to eat.

He approached the painting while some other paintings looked at him curiously. He went to a specific fruit in the fruit basket and tickled the pear with his wand. It started to laugh, and the painting swung open like a door inward.

Inside the place were numerous elves working with a huge fireplace and a large cauldron, where all of Hogwarts' food was prepared.

Snape came here, but he hardly cared about the elves, but now, with the new Snape, perhaps he could pick up some important information from them, as he approached over 100 house-elves.
