Ren turned his head as much as he could manage, despite the dull throb in his neck. In the corner of the room, Terim sat slumped in a chair, his head resting on the edge of Ren's bed.
The young master's shoulders rose and fell with the steady rhythm of deep, exhausted breaths, and his normally bright eyes were closed in a sleep that seemed as troubled as it was needed.
'Ren! You are finally awake... how are you feeling?'
The cub was sitting beside him on the bed. However, it did not jump and patted his chest according to its old habit.
Ren smiled as he spoke to the cub through their shared mental connection. He knew that opening his mouth to talk would exhaust his energy and his body would not be able to bear that at the moment.
'Hi, little god. I feel like a brick...impossible to move. What happened to that guy?'
Ren was curious to know and strangely he was not afraid like he had been when he was attacked by Lyra in the school at that time.
