Yakushi Kabuto is a very confident person. So confident, in fact, that he later believed he was unbeatable. But Itachi gave him a harsh lesson with Izanami.
However, Kabuto's confidence comes from his talent. Orochimaru himself rated him as a medical ninja on par with Tsunade, even saying Kabuto had medical skills that could surpass Tsunade's.
Tsunade: "Oh, sure, sure."
Maybe because of Orochimaru's approval, Kabuto looks down on Tsunade. And because Orochimaru didn't think highly of Jiraiya, Kabuto felt the same way, never understanding why Jiraiya was called a Sage.
But as far as Kurama is concerned, Tsunade was able to use medical ninjutsu to heal everyone in Konohagakure in a short amount of time, countering Tendo Pain's Super Shinra Tensei to the point where there were zero casualties. Those who died had already been killed when the Six Paths of Pain first attacked.
In the battle with Madara, Tsunade was cut in half at the waist but managed to summon and use medical ninjutsu to keep the other four Kage alive. She eventually restored her chakra with Karin's help and saved the near-dead Kage in a short time. And that wasn't all—after being saved, the five Kage returned to the battlefield to keep fighting, even if their strength was affected. This alone shows how powerful Tsunade's medical abilities are.
And if that wasn't impressive enough, Tsunade, without fully recovered chakra, joined forces with Sakura to perform a massive medical ninjutsu, treating and healing tens of thousands of ninja on the Fourth Great Ninja War battlefield—a true feat.
And you, Yakushi Kabuto? Can you do that? Stop joking. You could spend a hundred years trying to catch up to Tsunade at this point, and you're not even on Sakura's level. At most, you're just a bit stronger than Shizune right now.
Besides, Tsunade isn't just skilled in medical ninjutsu—she's also a taijutsu expert in the ninja world, even earning praise from the Fourth Raikage for her combat strength.
As for Jiraiya, he could go toe-to-toe with the Six Paths of Pain when he activated Sage Mode, managing to figure out the abilities of the Rinnegan despite having incomplete information. If he hadn't insisted on gathering more intel, he could've left any time he wanted, and even the Six Paths of Pain couldn't have stopped him.
The gap is enormous, yet Yakushi Kabuto can't see it. Orochimaru, you bear a heavy responsibility for this.
Anyway, the fight is about to begin. Jiraiya and Shizune have no intention of stepping in, casually standing by and watching. Meanwhile, Yakushi Kabuto forms seals with both hands, and a surge of purple chakra erupts from Orochimaru.
A giant snake with black-striped horns suddenly appeared, its massive body far exceeding the buildings below and crushing nearby houses almost instantly.
Manda squinted at Tsunade and Jiraiya on the ground, then turned to Orochimaru above.
"Orochimaru, I want three hundred sacrifices."
"If you can kill Tsunade, I'll give you three thousand," Orochimaru said with a sinister smile.
"Hmph." Manda raised his head arrogantly. "If you can take out Jiraiya or help me kill Gamabunta, I won't ask for a single sacrifice whenever you summon me."
Manda and Gamabunta have been rivals for ages, each representing opposite ends of the food chain. On top of that, Ryuchi Cave and Mount Myoboku have always been at odds. The two of them have been fighting since they were young, and even after signing with different Sannin, the conflict continued.
They constantly threaten to kill each other, but in reality, their strength is about equal. After fighting for so many years, neither has won decisively. It's far easier said than done to take the other down.
Orochimaru, remaining calm, ignored Manda's words and instead said,
"I'll give you three hundred sacrifices when I get back if you help me kill that blonde kid down there. I'll even double it."
"Oh?" Manda looked down at Naruto and narrowed his eyes.
"I want three thousand."
Orochimaru: "..."
Trying to get a lot out of me, huh?
Manda coiled himself up, looking down at Naruto.
"Ryuchi Cave's sensitivity to nature—you know about that, right? Think carefully before trying to trick me, Orochimaru."
"Tch," Orochimaru clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Ryuchi Cave's Senjutsu is known for enhancing the user's perception and control over nature, boosting both sensing and ninjutsu abilities. Initially, Manda hadn't noticed, but now he looked carefully.
Good grief, Manda couldn't help but be impressed. A Jinchuriki. Looking at Tsunade and Jiraiya nearby, it was obvious this Jinchuriki was from Konohagakure. And the only Jinchuriki from Konoha that made sense here was the Nine-Tails. Three hundred sacrifices to kill the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki? Either Orochimaru was insane, or he thought Manda was.
There was no way Manda would agree, and Orochimaru knew it too. Even if he could scrape together three thousand sacrifices, Otogakure barely had that many ninjas altogether. If he gave them all, Otogakure would be left with just Orochimaru and Kabuto.
What a joke.
Naruto looked up at Manda's gigantic body and swallowed nervously, stepping back behind Jiraiya.
"Why do I feel like that snake…"
"Is the big snake looking at me?"
"Manda is definitely looking at you." Jiraiya leaned against Naruto.
"But he probably recognized who you are. With Manda's sharp senses, it's no surprise he noticed the tailed beast chakra inside you."
"So what should I do?" Naruto looked a bit nervous.
"Should I summon the toad boss?"
"No need for that." Jiraiya forced himself to stand upright, placing a hand on Naruto.
"Just help me with the hand signs. I'll use the summoning jutsu. My body is still weak, but I should be able to summon Gamabunta for a bit."
Naruto was surprised.
"We can do that together?"
"Yes," Jiraiya nodded.
"But there are a few conditions. The two of us should be able to do it. If it doesn't work… it's probably because you've been bad-mouthing me behind my back."
Naruto stayed silent. He'd been mocking the pervy sage for a long time now.
If the summoning fails, Naruto thought, he'd just use that excuse to blame it on the pervy sage.
He felt confident in this plan.
In the next moment, as Manda's body shifted, Naruto and Tsunade made the hand signs simultaneously. With an explosion of chakra from both Jiraiya and Tsunade, two huge figures rose from the ground, transforming into Gamabunta and Slug Sage.
The moment Gamabunta saw Manda, he instinctively wanted to throw an insult, but before he could speak, he noticed a giant slug three times larger than himself and Manda.
The toad froze, speechless.
Slug Sage tilted her head cutely, looking curiously at Manda and Gamabunta, who were only a third of her height. She then turned her gaze to Tsunade, asking with a puzzled look,
"Tsunade-sama, why did you use so much chakra to summon me?"
Normally, Tsunade would summon a slug roughly the same size as Gamabunta and Manda—not for matching sizes, but because if the slug were any larger, the chakra needed would increase drastically and become disproportionate to the slug's size.
But this time was different.
Tsunade sensed the chakra in her Yin Seal, grinning as she clenched her fist.
"Because I plan to teach that guy down there a lesson, so I need your help"
The slug didn't quite understand but happily nodded.
"Of course! I'll keep Manda and Gamabunta in check and make sure they don't cause any trouble."
Manda: "..."
Gamabunta: "..."
