An almost perfect love story

Somewhere around a rural part of Malphi, our protagonist is lying on the grass thinking about his dream.

Franz: I Franz Fiorez will soon be able achieve that dream, the dream of becoming a Holy Knight along with my childhood bestfriend and lover Allie Lallic.

After some time, Franz didn't notice that he fell asleep. Few hours later, Franz suddenly hears someone calling for his name. That person is none other than the love of his life Allie along with their friends.

Allie: Franz! Franz! Hey!

Franz opened his eyes.

Franz: Am I in heaven? Why am I seeing an angel?

Allie: Don't give me that crap, you skipped working again.

Arvie: You lazy bum, I had to work overtime because of you.

Kesha: Why are you even here? Aren't you preparing farewell gifts for us? We're leaving tomorrow to take the Holy Knight exam.

Franz: Oh come on guys can't you spare me for today? I'm the only one who didn't get selected to take the exam. I'm feeling down today.

Allie: Jeez, it's not like you will be here forever. We're just going first and you can take the exam next year. Don't worry and I'll wait for you there. Now get up and we will be going back.

Franz and the others went back to village to eat.

Franz: Guys, promise me that you won't forget about me there. Write me letters when you get to the capital.

Allie: I'll write you letters everyday don't worry. But it might bore you since my plan after going there is to just train and sleep. I don't feel like the capital life is something I would enjoy.

Arvie: Don't worry I'll find every interesting places in the capital so once you join us, I'll be your tour guide.

Kesha: Hey Arvie, don't let me find you going places with women or I'll cut that little guy.

Arvie: *Shrieking*

Franz: Come on guys this is your farewell party. Lets enjoy the night!

Kesha and Arvie slept soundly after drinking too much.

Franz: Geez these 2.

Franz covered them with blanket. Allie approached Franz.

Allie: Hey Franz can we talk for a while?

Franz: Sure one moment I'll clean up the dishes.

After Franz cleaned the dishes:

Franz: What wrong? You look sad?

Allie: Honestly I don't want to join the Holy Knights without you there. What if I take the exam next year along with you?

Franz: What are you saying? You know the 4 of us, this is our dream since we were children. Don't let this opportunity pass by. Plus you might fail you know so you can join me and take the exam again next year *laughing*.

Allie: You meanie, you don't trust my abilities?

Franz: I'm just joking and I'll be more worried about guys swarming all around you than you failing the exam.

Allie: You know that no one can be compared to you. You were the one who helped me get to where I am now.

Franz: I know I am the best guy around here.

Allie suddenly kissed Franz.

Allie: You are. Lets sleep.

Next day:

Franz: Guys don't forget about the letters.

Allie: I'll be waiting for you there! See you next year!

Franz: Now time to get back and train. I'm looking forward to reading Allie's letter.

Few weeks have passed and Franz routine continued. Training, writing replies to Allie's letters. One of the letters mentioned that the 3 of them passed the exam.

Few months have passed and Franz routine continued. Training while waiting for Allie's letters. Allie says that they are going to be busy so she might get to send letters less frequent.

11 months have passed and Franz routine continued. Training and wondering why Allie isn't sending letters anymore.

Franz: I wonder why she isn't sending letters anymore? I guess they are really busy. Well in 1 month I will get to see them. I'm excited.

1 week before Franz takes the exam. He found a mysterious glowing stone that he can't identify.

Franz: What's this? It looks like a magic stone but this is the first time I've seen something like this. Guess I'll keep it and make a necklace out of it. I'm pretty sure Allie will like it.

Then the day where Franz will take the exam comes.

Franz: Wow! So this is the capital city of Malphi, the city of Laon.

Guard: Hey you!

Franz: Me?

Guard: Yeah you country bumpkin. What are you doing here?

Franz: Hey that's rude! I am one of the examinee!

Guard: So? You're not a holy knight yet. I'll greet you properly once you become one.

Franz: Tsk! What a rude guy.

While Franz is doing a tour on the city, he noticed something.

Franz: Geez, where's Arvie? He said he will be my tour guide once I get here. Also, I feel like they are avoiding me.

After walking for a while Franz sees an old lady getting harassed by 2 teenagers.

Teen 1: Hey stinking fart, this food you are selling taste like shit.

Teen 2: Are you sure this is edible? I need to report this to the authority.

Old Lady: Please sirs, do not report me. I am raising my grandchildren by myself and this is our only way of surviving. I won't charge you for all the food you ate so please do not report me.

Teen 2: Ok I will forgive you but you need to pay us.

Old Lady: But you were my first customers. I don't have any money yet.

Teen 1: Ok we can also settle this by letting us beat you.

Just before the teenager could hit the old lady, Franz grabbed his hand while eating some leftover.

Franz: Hmm, this is delicious what you are talking about?

Teen 1: Who the hell are you? Don't meddle into this.

Franz: I am here to take the Holy Knight exam.

Teen 2: You son of a bitch, I thought you were some high ranking noble but turns out you were a country bumpkin trying your luck here on the capital?

Franz: Yeah so?

Teen 1: Let go of my hand! So you don't know how things work here? We nobles can do anything to shit like you that goes here on the capital. You and other country bumpkins that comes here are nothing but rats just like this old lady.

Franz: I have heard enough.

Franz suddenly beat the 2 teenagers.

Franz: Get out of here. Now!

Teen 1: Just wait you garbage.

Teen 2: You will regret this.

Franz ignored them. Then helped the old lady get up.

Franz: Are you ok grandma?

Old Lady: I appreciate your help but now both of us will be driven out of the capital. You said you are taking the Holy Knight exam? Give it up. Now that you offended some nobles, you won't be able to pass it.

Franz: Why?

Old Lady: That's how it works. Nobles decide people's value here on the capital. Regardless if a noble is wrong or not, other nobles will side with that noble. I probably need to go back to the rural area. You too I suggest you follow me.

Franz: Sorry grandma but I made a promise with my friends and my fiancé. Crap I'm late! Sorry grandma I have to go.

Franz: Kesha! Arvie! Guys it's me Franz!

Arvie: Franz? Uh yeah nice to see you.

Kesha: ....

Franz: Hey Kesha you didn't miss me? And where's Allie?

Franzy noticed the 2 have worried faces.

Arvie: Franz, you'll see her later but don't get surprise.

Franz: What do you mean?

Kesha: Just go there and join the other examinees!

Franz: Hey what's wrong with her? Is she having a bad day?

Arvie: Uh yeah so just follow her instructions.

Franz sits and watched as the head of the Holy Knights Milton delivered his speech.

Milton: Before that, I would like to introduce to you the Rank 1 and Rank 2 Holy Knights. These 2 joined the Holy Knights last year but displayed incredible talents climbing the top spots. Please welcome the first prince, Prince Harris and his soon to be wife, Allie Lallic!

While everyone is clapping, Franz eyes widened and is shocked with the introduction of the two.
