How I Became The Alpha Mafia Boss' Target

Excerpt: His lips left her neck only long enough to say, “If the invisible scars he left don't disappear now, I'll keep trying again and again until they do. Soon your body will know only me.” Her eyes were still swollen from her previous tears, but they began to water again for a far different reason than before. She tried to pull away and hide her face from him. “Promise me,” she uttered. “Promise me I'll never be in the same room as him ever again.” His fist clenched and he had to control his anger. Luca realized he should have been paying more attention.

It was normal for Sophia to always be pushing out her pheromones since she didn't have control over them. He was used to holding back and ignoring the part of himself dying to respond to the silent message she unknowingly sent.

He had figured her strong scent was because the alcohol was relaxing her but her blushing face and heavy eyes were indicative of something else entirely.

Considering she had only just established as an omega, her first few heats could be unpredictable.

Dr. Miguera had offered to put a pheromone tracker on her as well but Luca adamantly refused. The thought of anyone being able to spy on her even if it was his most trusted doctor made Luca feel unstable. He didn't think Sophia would like it either so he declined on her behalf when she was sleeping at the hospital.

"We should get a room here for the night," Luca told Sophia, not wanting to alarm her quite yet.
