HOW DID I BECOME THE SYSTEM!?

Stella, a seemingly average girl with a remarkable resemblance to a certain tomboy anime girl, dies during an attack on her school protecting her class. However, instead of seeing the pearly gates, she finds herself on trial for crimes committed against the gods in a past life. The verdict is not what she expected... Warning, the beginning isn't too good since it's just me letting my imagination run wild but two chapters in, the quality picks up.

HOW I BECAME THE SYSTEM

I felt something in me shift. It wasn't a physical kind of shift like knowing you needed to go to the restroom but more of an intuitive kinda shift like knowing something big was gonna happen. Believe me when I say something big did happen.

In the instant, I was about to leave Izuku's mindscape I felt pain on a level I could barely comprehend. It was like something was eating me molecule by molecule. This pain was something a physical body couldn't even process so I knew right away that something was attacking my soul.

I had experienced soul targeting attacks from the celestials in some of my spars with them so I was certain it was attacking my soul. However, I had no idea how to counter it without a divine artifact so all I could do was try to resist with my willpower.

The pain stopped immediately after. I didn't know why but the attack that had been eating at me stopped. The strange thing however was that what had eaten at my soul was still there. I could still feel it and wanted to get rid of it but couldn't do anything about it without a divine artifact.

I stood there for a couple of minutes trying to decide If I should handle this situation now or leave it be for later. In the end tho, I decided to do something immediately.

What did I do you ask? I poked the soul invader, mentally of course, and as you can imagine it was a terrible idea. The second I interacted with it the pain came back ten times worse and my soul was being taken over at thrice the rate it was before.

I tried to resist again but it was useless, in seconds I felt my soul was mostly taken over by the attacker. For the first time in a very long time, I experienced raw unadulterated fear.

If this thing was successful, I would cease to exist, no heaven or third chances and that scarred me more than anything has ever before. Quickly, or really too late, I realized that I couldn't do anything on my own I used my final countermeasure, asking for help. "Gabriel, anyone please help" were the words I wanted to cry out but couldn't as my soul was taken over completely.

On that day Izuki Midoriya ceased to exist.

And was reborn as the Stella the Divine System!

"Holy shit that was scary," I shout out loud. If I had a body my heart would be beating out my chest.

Normally I wouldn't say anything out loud because Izuku is awake and can hear me. But this isn't a normal situation, turns out that my soul wasn't actually being destroyed. Assimulated yes, but not destroyed which is good news since I like existing. But the better news is that I now have my system.

More specifically I am the system! I don't know the specifics of how or why this happened, but what I do know is that I'm now the consciousness my system was supposed to have. It's something I'll have to look into later because I still have Izuku to take care of.

Right now I'm inside the system, which means I'm inside myself. Weird. Anyways, I'm in a large blue cube room with a large black wood desk, black chair, keyboards, headphones, microphone, and big monitors all across the wall making it look like it belongs to a streamer, hacker, and the government official that runs Big Brother all in one.

I knew almost instinctively that I could change how everything looked and that the monitors weren't necessary since I could fully integrate my mind into the system, and basically turn myself into a perfectly efficient system that only existed to make the Host(s) happy.

But who the fuck would want to do that? Not me, that's for sure. I loved my brother, but I'm not bro-con enough to turn myself into a slave for him. Instead of lingering on my thoughts I go to the chair and bring up the user list on the screen with the available mouse and keyboard.

1. Izuku Midoriya

I click on Izukus's name and it brings up a bunch of information about him that would make any would-be stalkers feel like they won the lottery. Some info was scarily specific. I understand the need for the basic height and weight along with his other physical stats, but is it really necessary to know how many breaths he's taken since birth? Ignoring a lot of the information I scroll down towards the video feed option and click on it. A new window appears on the screen showing me through the eyes of Izuku him brushing his teeth while staring at his stat sheet. To the bottom left of the window, three viewing options in black boxes are visible. The first viewing option, which is what I have currently selected, offers a first-person perspective. The second option is a third-person perspective, which allows me to view Izuku like he's a 3D game character. The third option is a free cam which stops the view from being locked on Izuku and allows me to control where I look. For now, I use the second viewing option while I think of a plan for moving forward.

"Hmm, what to do, what to do?" I didn't really know what to do because the original plan was to teach him how to control life's energy. Which now that I think of it wasn't really a good plan since it would take him approximately a decade straight of proper training to use it without accidentally blowing himself up or the planet up. He wouldn't be ready to go to UA by the time he learned it.

There was the option of having him meet All-Might and getting One For All but this was an AU, so I couldn't rely on cannon knowledge. All-Might and Izuku might not even meet, All-Might might not even be teaching at UA, there were too many variables to consider having them meet a sound plan.

I could also just give him full access to the powers of the system or boost his stats to Saitama's level of strength. This system was is made to be without limits so i should technically be able to do this. I just don't know how.

I tuck my legs in and spin around in the chair while thinking. Did I mention I no longer think normally? When I 'think' or 'contemplate' I'm really just simulating what the consequences of certain actions are. It's pretty convenient since it makes decision-making way faster and less stressful. It's like using a calculator to do long division instead of solving it piece by piece yourself.

After running through a couple of simulations, I know how to change Izuku's stats and/or give him free rein over the power of the system. I once again consider giving him a Saitama level boost to his stats from the get-go and giving him free access to all the powers and items in the system but quickly rejected the idea. There's a 67% chance of him going the anti-hero route if I give him power he hasn't earned. Sure it's tempting to just make things easy for him after all he's through because of me, but if his dream was perverted by me because I was too impatient to have him grow naturally I wouldn't be able to forgive myself.

"So why not put him to work?" All self-respecting system give out quests that are tedious, dangerous, and constantly forces their host into life or death situations and I was going to be no different if wanted to make Izuku the hero he dreamed of becoming. I stop spinning on my chair to bring up the quest creation program on the computer and got to work.

It had been three hours since the mysterious window popped up in front of Izuku and asked if wanted to be a hero. He had with near-zero hesitation tapped the yes button on the mysterious screen. After that, a transparent blue screen had popped up displaying his name, physical ability, and even his luck in numerical form. It was like the character sheet in a video game.

At first, Izuku had thought it was someone's quirk, but finding out no one but him could see or touch the blue screen made him doubt that possibility. His second guess was that this was a hallucination made by his mind to comfort himself for having a useless quirk and an impossible dream. But not wanting to entertain the idea that he'd gone off the deep end, he dismissed the notion and decided to use the internet to find answers.

As it turns out, no quirk ever recorded was anything like the blue screen in front of him. This worried the Midoriya because all the signs were pointing towards a mental illness and he didn't want to end up in a mental hospital. His trips to the therapist were more than enough time with a doc in his opinion. So he continued to search the internet for an answer.

He finally got closer to figuring out what the blue screen was when he stumbled upon the pre-quirk websites, Webnovel, and Wattpad.com. The site's contained lots of shitty wish-fulfillment fictions clearly made by horny teenagers and edgelords. Even though lots of the fiction were bad, they were still useful since the majority talked about the main character getting a system that helped them achieve power beyond their wildest dream.

Izuku had never known about these websites or systems until today so he was once again beginning to believe that this blue screen wasn't part of a mental illness he developed. Instead, he was beginning to believe that this was one of the famed systems mentioned in those shitty novels. Excitement welled up in Izuku as the possibility of getting power that would rival or even surpass All-Might was fully realized by him. As if to affirm his theory, a new blue screen appeared over the first one but his one was different from the first one. This new screen had a quest!

I know what you wanna say.

"When is this idiot gonna get to cannon? He promised for the last two chapters he would."

I'm changing my mind. Cannon will only start two chapters after this one. Sorry for the delay, but this fic has my name on it so I'm at least trying to make it good by fleshing things out. So till next time. Pease!
