Hickeys and surprises

Chloe opened her wardrobe and took out an oversized tank top that covered her shorts. Then she used her hands to smoothen her hair before going to the living room.

When she opened the door, she came face to face with none other than her next-door neighbor.

His name was Will, or something like that. She remembered it this time. Annoyance grew in her when she remembered what had happened the previous morning, but she also tried to be nice since he had helped her carry Jeremy last night to his car.

His eyes raked all over her, especially her neck and collarbone, the smile on his face leaving before they sprang back up.

"Good morning. Did I wake you up?" He asked in a friendly manner.

"As you can see."

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to be sure you returned home safely. It seemed like a tough job for you yesterday."

"Or you want to see my bra on full display again?" She asked coldly, leaving his jaw hanging loosely.

"Look, I appreciate what you did for me last night, but I still can't shake off the fact that you acted like you saw nothing in the morning when you did."

"I sincerely apologize to you, Chloe."

"I never told you my name."

"It's impossible to not know your name after meeting the guy yesterday."

Chloe remembered Jeremy shouting 'CHLOEEE'.

"He is my boyfriend, Jeremy."

She said, hoping whatever affection he had for her would die, but apparently, Jeremy thought she was calling him because he suddenly appeared beside her, but wearing a shirt now.

Jeremy looked at the unfamiliar young man. He was no doubt very good looking, and he looked like he worked out. His muscles were obvious in the tank top and shorts he was wearing. He looked like he had just returned from a run because he was sweating and had a headset around his neck with a towel on his shoulder.

Jeremy wondered who this person was and what he was doing here. He looked at Chloe with confusion written all over his face.

Maybe Jeremy wasn't very smart, but he noticed the displeased look the young man gave him before he smiled.

"Hi! I'm Will." He extended his hand to Jeremy, who shook it out of courtesy, and introduced himself. "I'm Jeremy."

Will nodded. "I'm guessing you do not remember me?"

Jeremy looked at Chloe and then back at Will. Was he supposed to know him?

"I helped you get to the car last night in front of the restaurant. You almost made her trip and fall."

"Oh... thanks," Jeremy replied awkwardly.

He wondered what this guy was doing here. He didn't need a soothsayer to tell him he was interested in Chloe. Every young man was interested in Chloe as far as he was concerned. And he wasn't so blind to not see the hickeys all over Chloe. Chloe was going to kill him when she looked at the mirror later.

"I'm her new neighbour, in case you were wondering." Will used his thumb to gesture at the next apartment.

"What?" Jeremy asked in horror before he could stop himself.

"Yes. I moved in two days ago. I am looking forward to getting to know you two—"

Before Will could complete his sentence, the door was closed in his face with Jeremy pulling Chloe inside with him.

"He is your new neighbour? For real?" He asked a surprised looking Chloe, with wide eyes.

Jeremy was never disrespectful to people. Banging the door like that in front of Will was out of character for him, so she was curious about what was wrong with him.

She nodded. "He is the new neighbour. Why?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked in disbelief.

"Tell you what?" She asked, still confused.

"That you have a new neighbor who likes you! Even I noticed, which means you must know that. He kept looking at me like he wanted me to drop to the floor and die so he would have you."

She choked on her laughter. "Seriously Jer, you are overthinking it."

"I am not! Besides, it looked like he came here to seduce you with all his muscles. Does he think he is the only one with muscles? I have muscles too!" He stripped off his shirt in one swift move. It was difficult to take note of his muscles because of how everywhere was covered in hickeys. Chloe's face turned red when she saw it.

"I should have moved into that apartment earlier. Will? What kind of name is that?" He spoke more to himself than to Chloe, who was enjoying the show he was putting up. She wondered how he would react if she told him about what had happened between herself and Will the previous morning. She would have to keep that piece to herself.

"Your last name is Williams. That could be his name." She shrugged.

"God! I suddenly hate my last name!" He exclaimed, making her laugh.

The doorbell rang again, and when Chloe stood up to go get it, he raised a hand, telling her to stop.

"I will get it myself." He said and began to walk to the door.

"At least wear a shirt."

"He should see that I have muscles too."

"Jer, maybe it's not him. Stop being ridiculous, your body is covered in—"

He seemed determined because the door was already opened before she could complete her sentence.

But this time, it wasn't Will. Two people stood there.
