Guide how to steal Princess’ heart

"Um… Sir Kay, I've heard a lot about you. You must be the White Knight people have been talking about recently," Guinevere spoke in a shy tone. Since Sir Kay entered her carriage, she couldn't control her rapid heartbeat and nervousness. Too shy to look him in the eye, she gazed at his shoulder instead when she conversed with him.

Despite this, her facial expression remained calm as she pretended to be nonchalant about it. Kay didn't dismantle her shy demeanor or tease her about it. Instead, he began to contemplate his past history when he earned the title of White Knight.

White Knight, yes, it was a title he gained when he assisted Artoria in gathering her fame by saving many villages, cities, and some nobles passing through rural areas before she ascended to become the future Knight King, accompanied by Merlin on the journey.

They were important in gathering momentum for her before she picked the sword in the stone. Yet, in the end, he received the most admiration from the masses, along with his sister, even more famous than Artoria despite being weaker. Artoria may have been stronger than him, but in terms of acting cool, he was better than her in every way. Every injured villager, citizen of Camelot, or noble was tended to and taken care of by him, while Artoria was busy fighting assailants, robbers, and bandits. He was the one who took care of their emotions, while Artoria focused on attacking the mobs. He would sneak attack their leader, take them down, and boost morale instantly by stealing her spotlight, raising the leader's head high, and making them retreat.

That's how he earned the title of White Knight. Even Merlin felt something was wrong about it but couldn't point out where it went wrong, as Kay simply saved people like Artoria did. He would even tell stories and sing songs to them like an ideal knight should when entertaining the victims. In an instant, he became the most popular knight in the realm, just like Prince Rhaegar in Game of Thrones, who embraced his inner hypocrisy with song and story.

Even Princess Guinevere saw him the way many Westerosi folks and nobles saw Rhaegar Targaryen.

"I'm the White Knight, Princess. Do you perhaps admire knights? Is that why you're fond of remembering them?" Kay chuckled with a teasing tone in his voice.

"I do, Sir Kay. I actually wanted to become one, that's why I trained a lot with the sword." Guinevere laughed along, then coughed.

"Ahem… Forgive me, Sir Kay. I overstepped my bounds. I shouldn't dream of becoming a knight in the first place. You must think a girl like me playing with a sword is weird, don't you?" She sighed melancholically.

Guinevere looked down at the ground in embarrassment. She was too enthusiastic and too caught off guard, accidentally spilling what she wanted and what she thought bluntly about her dream. She feared Sir Kay would hate her because of it. She remembered how the noble boys at the banquet laughed at her for dreaming of becoming a knight, mocking her that a woman's place was in the kitchen and chamber, not on the battlefield, and she ended up breaking their noses.

"Why should I think of it as weird, Princess?" Kay asked in confusion. He didn't understand how toxic the sexism of this era was, still stuck in modern thinking where many feminists roamed around spreading their bullshit. Compared to medieval and ancient times, modern women were lucky. If feminists were placed in this period, they would undoubtedly not survive even a paragraph or a chapter.

"Hmm… Sir Kay, perhaps you don't know that if a woman has the same ambition as a man or surpasses him, it's considered taboo. Women being equal to men in position is wrong?" Guinevere looked at Kay weirdly.

"I don't know. My father always told me to respect women, Princess. There is no middle ground between them. I will treat them equally as I treat men," Kay spoke in a firm tone. "My sister is just like you. She wanted to become the best knight in the realm, so I don't think your dream is wrong. However, I will not convince you or advise you to continue what you were doing. I know you stopped your dream or are too shy to talk about it because of social pressure and others' expectations of you. It's not wrong for you to compromise. We are human, after all. There is a time for us to compromise, but if you need guidance or a training partner, I will always be there for you, Princess."

"Thank you, Sir Kay," Guinevere spoke with gratitude on her face, hearing his advice and becoming more fond of him because of it. It was the first time she saw someone not make fun of her dream and give her advice on how to embrace it without offending her and taking care of her feelings at the same time, which made her feel warmth in her heart.

"I do what I should as a knight, Princess. If you need my help, then I will help you as best I can. My father taught me to help someone in need as best as I could, and I will," Kay spoke humbly.

"Your father must be the most honorable knight, Sir Kay. I envy you for having such a great family," Guinevere sighed.

"If you need a family, I will have your back, Princess. You can think of me as your brother," Kay patted his chest in assurance. His tone was evident, as if he were the protagonist of a shounen anime, he would undoubtedly be the most qualified one.

"Brother…" Guinevere exhaled, her face blushing in shame, and it took a lot of courage for her to call Sir Kay 'brother.'

"Sister..." Unlike Guinevere, who was shy, Kay was bold and self-assured with a lot of confidence. He called her sister without any obstacle or shyness.

"Sir Kay... I don't think I can." In the end, she chose not to accept as she was too embarrassed and felt it was too cheesy. She looked at Sir Kay with an uneasy look on her face, fearing he was offended by her rejection. But his face was too calm and too steady, which made her unable to read what Sir Kay truly wanted or the real feelings beneath that calm mask.

"Take your time, Princess. Perhaps we should start as friends first if you don't mind my low origin," Kay suggested.

"No… Why should I mind? It's nice to have a friend like you, Sir Kay." Guinevere's smile brightened at the suggestion.

"In that case, does the offer to train with you still stand, Sir Kay? Perhaps, when we arrive in Camelot, you can train me every morning?" she asked with a hopeful tone.

"Sure," Kay smirked. "Anything for you, Princess."

"Since we are no longer strangers, sit beside me, Sir Kay. I want to know more about you." Guinevere's smile brightened at Sir Kay's acceptance of her proposal.

In a heartbeat, Kay agreed to her request and sat beside her.

"Rather than this, I want to know more about you, Princess. Will you fulfill a request of mine?" Kay chuckled. Guinevere was happy to accept Sir Kay's request. After all, he was the target of her affection, and she was eager to show more of herself to him even if he didn't say it.

"Of course, we have many days to talk."

"Let me tell you about myself then, Sir Kay."
