Chapter 1

The female hostel at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Nigeria, was notorious for its dark history. It was a place where fear dwelled, and terror reigned supreme. The story began five years ago when a young student, Tolani, was brutally bullied by her seniors, leading to her tragic death.

Tolani's spirit did not rest. Instead, it lingered, seeking vengeance on those who wronged her. The new set of students who occupied the hostel the following year began to experience strange occurrences. Doors creaked open and shut, disembodied whispers echoed through the corridors, and ghostly apparitions appeared in the dead of night.

The students tried to ignore it, but Tolani's presence grew stronger, her anger and frustration manifesting in violent outbursts. Windows shattered, beds were overturned, and eerie laughter filled the halls. The students were terrified, and soon, the hostel was abandoned, left to decay for five long years.
