Teachers vs Students (part 1)

Kiba Yahashi had a very unique ability that let him mimic characteristics of different animals. During his fight with 9, he used the traits of four different animals.

The first was ability of a tree frog. (An animal who can jump up to 150 times it's body length. Which in Kiba's case was 183cm) He used this to cross the 300 metre gap between himself and the forest.

The second trait was that of the scaly-foot gastropod. Who are said to have one of the strongest shells. He used this "hard-shell" ability on his torso while being hit with a barage of explosives from 9.

The third trait was the muscle strength of a chimpanzee. He used this when he punched and knocked out 9's teeth and snapped his arm and the subsequent beating after that.

The final trait was activated when 9 blew off his arm. It was the regenerative abilities of the chameleon.

Although chameleons are famous for their camouflage, they are also able to regrow their limbs. They are able to heal their nerves and skin when regrowing amputated limbs. This is why his hand became a stump shortly after it was blown up.

By the time the paramedics arrived, Osara had unfortunately breathed his last and Yaragi was at deaths door.

Amino had also arrived at the scene, and things were chaotic. He was upset about losing Osara and worried about Yaragi, then Tasho explained what happened during the clash between 9 and Kiba.

Amino scratched his head. Although there was a shoot to kill order on the fugitives from the order, in the eyes of the law, Kiba had crossed a line.

He walked over to where Kiba was sitting. "What happened to my do not engage order, Hunter?"

Kiba remained silent for a few seconds before responding to Amino.

"you're not the type for sweet talk captain. I do not regret my actions. Those criminals must not be allowed to do whatever they want"

"That's why this task force was created Kiba. There are rules in place that we have to follow as officers of the law." There was anger in his voice but his face suggested he was upset

"I'm sorry I let the team down Captain, but do what you have to"

Amino sighed, "Kiba Yahashi you're under arrest for the torture and murder of a wanted fugitive. If you have abilities, from this point, any attempt to use them to resist may result in your death."

After they both walked to his car, Amino placed the restrictive gauntlets on Kiba and put him in the back seat of the car.

Tasho broke down as he witnessed this, realising he no longer had a team.

Amino's task force was comprised of 6 teams, from letters A to F.

Team F had already been taken out by 3 and 6 during the alleyway shootout. Kiba, Osara, Yagari and Tasho were part of team B. Which had now lost three members.

Amino thought to himself, [the media are going to have a field day with this]

*

The day most of the students had been waiting for had finally come. In anticipation of the damage that could potentially happen, the teachers decided an off-site zone would be better.

As the students gathered in the auditorium, Izume and Hirowa walked in to tell them all that was going to happen that day.

"Morning guys. I hope you're all well rested " she said, standing with Hirowa at the front.

"I'll get straight into it. We aren't going to use the skyline arena today."

The students exchanged confused looks, but Izume continued.

"We have been working on a large scale Skyline Arena, with no ceilings or walls that could take any damage. That is where we will be doing our activity today."

At this, the students were even more excited and things quickly went quiet again as Hirowa took over.

"Well then, let's discuss today's events. It will be the same format as your entrance examination. Four or five students vs 1 teacher. However, the objective is different. Each team will be given a medium sized Crystal Ball. The teams job is to protect said ball from the assigned teacher who will be trying to forcefully take it.

If the ball is taken or destroyed, the team loses. If the teacher fails to take the ball within 5 minutes, the student team wins. If you manage to defeat the teacher, you also win. Simple, right?

As usual Dr Hirime and several other medical staff will be present to treat any injuries, and as usual, the teachers will hold back to some degree. Lastly, there is a coach outside which will take all of you to the venue. Any questions?"

Rani raised her hands, "aren't you coming?"

"I'm taking my motorbike" he responded.

After waiting a few seconds to see if there were anymore questions, Hirowa continued speaking.

"Now, for the teams. Team A: Rezu, Sezato, Takeyomi and Chino. Team B: Rando, Tanori, Chibi and Takegai. Team C: Sando, Shihata, Dota, and Aibuto. Team D: Koda, Hayasato, Fukuma, and Rani. Finally, Team E: Yashiro, Hirase, Minako, Mika and Murake.

Before you ask, the teams were made using a random generator."

Rando smiled to himself, thinking [team E is kinda crazy].

Dota asked a question, "who are our assigned teachers"

Hirowa smiled, "you'll see"

"Okay, if there are no more questions, could you make your way to the coach waiting for you outside?"

As the students arrived at the location, Izume, Hirowa and several other teachers were already waiting for them.

As the last student stepped off the coach, Izume welcomed them saying, "welcome to Ground Zero, guys"

The students looked around, in awe of their environment.

Ground Zero was a 200 acre grassland with multiple zones built in. It was a "large scale Skyline Arena" in the sense that these zones had different types of environments. There was a zone with multiple 2-3 storey buildings, a forest zone with tall trees and several animals. A shipwreck zone filled with water and sand, a Frost zone with artificial ice and cold winds.

The last working zone was a barren wasteland.

Tokiho worked with several engineers to make these various zones a possibility and there were still others under construction.

There was a main room near the entrance where all the zones were monitored with several cameras. Several things could also be altered in the control room, like the temperature of certain locations or if it was day or night.

After admiring their surroundings for a few more seconds, they turned to Hirowa who was about to speak again.

"Team A: make your way to zone B, the shipwreck zone.

Team B: you're at the forest zone.

Team C: you're at the frost zone

Team D: you're at the wasteland zone

And finally, Team E: you're in the urban Zone

The kids excitedly made their way to their respective zones and the teachers also got prepared.

"Do you think we made the right choices with the teachers?" Izume asked

"the teachers were selected based on who we believed could handle each respective student team. I'm sure we made the right decisions"

Izume laughed, "Well, time to beat the crap outta some kids"

ZONE A

The shipwreck zone was massive. It a circular, to represent an island and has over 10 acres of water around the shipwrecks in the middle.

The four students walked around their zone analysing their environment. Rezu had a big smile on her face. "This is perfect" she said, excitedly.

"How did they get this much water in here? Sezato asked. "It smells like real sea water too"

Takeyomi looked around, "I'll go scout around. We can't really make a plan unless we know who our teacher is"

The team nodded in agreement and he teleported away. In about 3 seconds, Takeyomi teleported all around the zone to see if there was a teacher but found none.

"I'm back" he said, as he returned to his team. "I've scoured ever inch of this place, there's no teacher here yet"

Chino scratched her chin, "Well, based on our powers, Who is the best person to hold onto the crystal?"

"I think it should be Takeyomi" Rezu said, "if things get sticky, he can just run around with the crystal until time runs out"

Takeyomi smiled, "pretty convenient right?"

Rezu and Chino rolled their eyes

Hirowa's voice came from multiple speakers across all zones.

"Oh, and one more thing. As soon at the battles start, each team member can't be more than 20 metres away from their crystal. This event is to see how well you can work together, not how good you are at running away. That will be all. Let the events begin"

Takeyomi laughed excitedly "I feel like that rule was implemented because of Hayasato and I. This is going to be fun"

Sezato was suddenly alarmed. "Guard up, something is coming"

A bullet ripped through the air aimed at Takeyomi's hand, or rather, the crystal ball in it.

A split second before contact, he managed to teleport in place so the bullet went right through.

[It's miss Izume] Rezu thought.

Chino reacted instantly

She launched several energy beams from her body in the direction the bullet came from.

Izume laughed as she dodged the beams [correct response Chino]

Izume looked different this time. She had metallic contraptions covering every part of both arms, which resembled robotic parts. As usual, she had two pistols holstered on her side and two others hidden. There was a massive grenade launcher across her back, and a protective helmet with a visor on her head.

She reached back and swung the grenade launcher in front of her, adjusted the angle of her aim and fired 4 shots which landed in front of the students one after the other.

[Surely she wouldn't] Sezato thought as he and the others scrambled.

The four grenades exploded, creating a cloud of smoke in a matter of seconds, hindering their visibility and causing them to cough.

"stick together" Sezato said, though they couldn't see one another.

Izume's helmet had a heat vision mode so she could see the four of them as clear as day.

She laughed, saying, "don't lose your heads kids" before pulling out two pistols and firing rapidly at them.

Bullets ripped through the air and smoke, hitting Takeyomi and Chino in the chest and thigh.

They both hit the ground hard coughing and curling up in pain.

"Sezato!" Rezu exclaimed, "use to ability to know her approximate location, this smoke screen is too much"

Sezato stood still and controlled his breathing, waiting for his 6th sense to kick in and alert him of incoming danger.

Izume saw this and smiled, [don't you think I knew you'd do that. Did you think the smoke was only for visibility?] she thought as she took aim at Sezato through the smoke.

A split second after his ability activated, he himself was hit in the chest with a bullet. As he fell to the floor, he tried to figure out why the activation was delayed.

[It can't be fear, that has never been factor. It has to be the smoke. It must be dulling our senses. That would explain why none of us were able to dodge. This is very bad. Either way, I was still able to get an approximate distance, I have to let Rezu know]

"60 metres" he said, weakly "hold breath, smoke dulling senses"

"Thank you" she replied, as she processed the information.

She raised her hand, causing the "sea water" the side of her raised hand to form a 4 metre high wave.

Izume paused and looked to her side, "what the fuc-" before she could finish her sentence, the high speed wave crashed into her, sweeping her off her feet and sending her crashing into a shipwreck several metres away.

[incredible] she thought, coughing up water [ how did she know where I was?]

Rezu tended to her teammates, while placing everyone in a protective water bubble that kept increasing in size as more water was drawn from the make shift sea.

Inside the bubble, the smoke was already dissipating, allowing the others the recover a bit faster.

Takeyomi laughed again, wheezily saying, "she really isn't holding back today is she?"

"That smoke screen is really bad news" Rezu added, "this should give us a few seconds to think of something. She's gonna start shooting again in a few seconds"

They noticed she was continuously spinning her hand in a clock wise motion.

"Why are you doing that?" Chino asked

"I'm adding more layers to this water dome, to slow down any projectiles and slow down miss Izume too"

"smart" Chino said, with a smile

Takeyomi sat up and began speaking to his class mates.

"Right now, she's hit us with overwhelming force, we are bruised and disoriented so the obvious thing to do would be to retreat and run but I'm sure that is what she is expecting us to do. Let's use that to our advantage and attack her simultaneously."

Rezu nodded in agreement before contributing. "Okay, so Take, Chino, and Sezato. You three lead a frontal attack. That should keep her occupied a little. I'll stay a few steps behind, guarding the crystal and providing support to your blind spots."

As they discussed their plan, Izume got up and observered the water bubble in front of her.

"Hmm" she said, thinking about what her next move should be.

She pulled out her pistols again, adjusting the velocity of the bullets once more and firing at the students through the bubble but just as Rezu intended, the bullets were significantly slowed down by the ever increasing bubble wall of water around herself and her friends.

Seeing her bullets had no effect, Izume swung her grenade launcher in front of herself once more and exchanged the bullets before firing twice at the bubble again.

The resulting explosions caused the bubble to crumble, and Rezu to fall backwards.

"GO!" She shouted.

Chino, Takeyomi and Sezato charged at their teacher from beyond the remaining smoke. To prevent Izume from using her guns as they closed the distance, Chino continuously directed her white energy beams at her. As she dodged, she still managed to fire off shots at the students but they were met with a wall of water, erected in front of the three by the now active Rezu.

Izume's wild smile returned. [Now you're a team worth crushing]

She ran full speed at the four students but they were prepared.

When he was certain the gap was close enough, Takeyomi decided it was time to act. He teleported beside Izume, attempting a spin kick to her head. She blocked but was hit in the chest with an energy beam and knocked to the ground.

Still smiling, she scrambled to her feet. The metallic gauntlets on her arms began whirring.

Takeyomi teleported again, appearing behind her this time. She quickly unholstered a pistol and shot at Chino's chest, allowing herself to be kicked by Takeyomi.

This reaction surprised the students as they expected her to block Takeyomi's attack first.

The kick barely damaged her as it landed on her helmet but she had temporarily reduced the fight to a 3 vs 1 situation.

Sezato and Takeyomi tried to coordinate their attacks to the best of their ability and were doing a fairly good job. Izume was having a hard time hitting either of them because Takeyomi always vanished right before the point of contact and Sezato's 6th sense gave away her moves. Whenever she failed to hit Takeyomi, Sezato exploited her openings.

She moved to the left while blocking, and began stepping back, away from the boys. Which caused them to become more confident, now believing that they could beat her.

Takeyomi laughed, "what's wrong miss Izume? Backing away from your students?"

Izume responded with laughter and a simple word "Shatter"

Sezato's alarm bells rang and he attempted to issue a warning "Takey-"

Before he could finish saying the name, a bullet seemed to come out of nowhere and hit Takeyomi, who crumpled to the floor.

Izume took advantage of Sezato's shock, and lunged at him.

Her gauntlet whirred louder, but this time, a compartment in the elbow burst outward with flames, propelling her fist forwards as it connected with Sezato's head.

As she dropped yet another one of her students, making it a one vs one situation, she asked Rezu, "now, do you think you can handle me by yourself for the next two minutes?"

Rezu had the crystal ball floating in a small protective bubble next to her shoulder, she too couldn't react in time after Izume's "Shatter" command, and after that question, she did not look confident but she was determined to still try.

She raised her hand and slowly created a large figure out of water. It was 9 feet tall with large fists and feet, and a head with no face. It was her water golem.

Rezu went on the offensive. The golem moved quick for its size, it punched Izume in the chest, causing more damage than the teacher anticipated as it knocked her several metres back. She rolled backwards to her feet and fired several shots at it but the bullets were easily absorbed. She charged forward, flames shooting out of her elbows again, she punched the golem, harder than she had hit Sezato but her fist went right through and did no damage. It smacked her away into another shipwreck.

She groaned and struggled back to her feet, before grabbing her grenade launcher once more and aiming at Rezu.

As the projectile came towards her, she was forced to drop the golem and erect a protective wall but that was not enough. The explosive force of the grenade ripped through the wall and sent her flying.

This angered her. She checked the crystal, which was still intact and noticed Chino was on her feet again launching destructive energy beams at their teacher.

Rezu stood up, thinking to herself [if you're not going to hold back, neither am I] she raised both hands and a wave began forming in the "sea".

Five metres, forty five seconds left

10 metres, Chino stops launching beams as she notices the now large wave.

At 12 metres, Izume thinks to herself, [she's lost her temper. This is bad. If I get hit by that I'm in trouble, but so are her friends. Her concentration has also been affected. This is my chance, I have to do something]

She unholstered her most powerful pistol, stabilised the explosive power and fired.

This time, the bullet ripped through the protective wall of water, completely shattered the crystal.

An announcement came from a speaker, causing Rezu to drop the wave as she realised what had just happened. "The crystal has been destroyed, winner; Izume Jokira."

Rezu fell to her knees.

Friendly reminder : When Izume users her powers and guns against her students she always uses high damage but non-lethal velocities.
