Chapter 15

Welt frowned as he saw Adonis approaching. He was well aware of the situation, especially after their earlier conversation with Himeko. 

The resemblance between Himeko and someone from Welt's previous world had struck him profoundly.

"Are there really two similar people here in this world?" Welt muttered to himself; his gaze locked onto Adonis.

Adonis, however, played dumb, responding, "I wonder what Mr. Yang is referring to?"

After studying Adonis for a few more moments, Welt shook his head and said, "It's nothing. I've heard similar words from someone in the past, similar to what you just said about Miss Himeko."

Adonis, eager to move on, replied, "An interesting topic, indeed. However, I believe you didn't call me here to discuss that. Let's get to the main topic."

Welt nodded and gestured toward a pair of chairs nearby. 

He invited them both to sit and then began speaking, "After hearing their report about you from March, I had the same suspicion as them. You possess a method to neutralize the effects of the star core, and I initially intended to offer a substantial sum in exchange for this method."

As Welt spoke, Adonis, who had just seated himself, couldn't help but wonder about the situation. He spread his hands and shrugged, remarking, "But you must have heard from them; it wasn't me who did it."

Welt nodded and replied rhetorically, "Yes, it's true that you didn't directly intervene, but your very existence played a role in these events, didn't it?"

Adonis remained noncommittal, and Welt continued, "Honestly, I've encountered many people and situations in my life, but I've never come across someone quite like you. Your abilities and everything that's happened are closely tied to your presence."

Adonis, intrigued, narrowed his eyes and smiled, asking, "So, have you changed your mind and now want to study me?"

March 7, Dan Heng, and Stelle watched the conversation nervously, sensing a serious atmosphere. Himeko, meanwhile, continued to elegantly enjoy her tea.

Welt shook his head in response to Adonis' question and said, "No, on behalf of the Nameless organization within the Astral Express, I'd like to propose a long-term alliance with you."

Adonis leaned forward, showing his interest, and asked, "An alliance? Please, go on."

Welt adjusted his glasses once more and leaned forward, explaining, "During this alliance, the Astral Express will provide you with materials, equipment, and even talented individuals to assist in rebuilding your home. In return, we would like the Great Guardian to offer assistance when needed."

Adonis furrowed his brow and contemplated the proposal. He cast a discerning gaze over everyone on the Astral Express and remarked, "However, I don't believe the Astral Express has sufficient resources."

Welt assured him, saying, "When it comes to resources, please rest assured. We have access to our own channels."

Noticing Adonis' lack of immediate reaction, Welt added, "Throughout our trailblazing efforts, we've encountered various factions. I can't promise too much, but it will certainly enhance the quality of life for the residents of Beloberg."

Welt was likely referring to the Herta Space Station and the newly developed planets that didn't exist in the game. After a brief pause, Adonis nodded and agreed, "No problem."

Welt stood up and extended his right hand, saying, "Here's to a fruitful partnership."

Adonis shook Welt's hand and responded, "A productive partnership."

March 7 let out a sigh of relief upon witnessing this exchange. The previous atmosphere had been rather tense, with both men exuding an aura that seemed ready for conflict at any moment.

Fortunately, such a tense situation didn't materialize. After some thought, Welt suggested, "March, since the Great Guardian is visiting the Astral Express for the first time, how about showing him around?"

March 7 readily agreed, responding, "Of course, Uncle Yang."

Welt turned to Adonis, seeking his approval, and Adonis responded with a smile, "I have no objections."

Subsequently, Adonis followed March 7 as she led him through the various sections of the Astral Express. March 7 provided introductions along the way.

She began by explaining, "The carriage we were in earlier is a viewing car, a space for welcoming guests and hosting activities during the week. It offers beautiful scenery, doesn't it?"

As they moved through the train, March 7 pointed to a dormitory area and said, "This section is the dormitory area. By the way, I'll show you my room."

March 7 excitedly opened the door to her room, revealing a snug space adorned with various decorations. She asked Adonis with pride, "What do you think?"

Adonis complimented her, saying, "It's quite charming."

Hearing this, March 7 beamed and continued the tour. However, not all the carriages were accessible for the tour; only the observation car, dormitory area, conductor's room, and two supply cars were open to visitors.

With his tour of the Astral Express complete, Adonis had no reason to linger any longer. He quickly wrapped up his visit and prepared to leave.

Before his departure, Welt handed him an interstellar phone, which Adonis accepted graciously. With the phone in hand, he bid his farewell and exited the train, making his way back to Beloberg.

As the Astral Express set sail again, departing from Jarlio-Vi and venturing into the vastness of space, Dan Heng took a moment to seek clarification from Welt.

"Mr. Yang, there's something I'm not quite clear on," Dan Heng began.

Welt glanced at Dan Heng and inquired, "Are you referring to the alliance?"

Dan Heng nodded, expressing his curiosity. "Yes."

Welt explained his perspective, saying, "I'm concerned that in the future, we may encounter challenges that neither I nor Himeko can resolve. At such times, the Astral Express may require the assistance of allies."

Dan Heng absorbed this explanation thoughtfully. Welt then turned his attention to Stelle and requested, "Stelle, please communicate with Ms. Herta about the Great Guardian."

Stelle contemplated the task for a moment before asking, "Should I provide a detailed report, or would a general overview suffice?"

Welt replied, "No need for excessive detail. The presence of this Great Guardian alone should be enough to pique Lady Herta's interest."
