''Mother, what about the necklace?'' Tucked in cozily under the warm blanket, Damien stared at Isla, who sat by his side on the bed.
''It is here.'' replied Isla, and she brought out the necklace from the pocket of her apron to show him. Earlier in the flower shop, when she was about to lift Damien, she had placed the necklace in her pocket.
''Can I keep it?'' Damien hesitantly asked her. Though he knew that he was in the wrong for talking to a stranger, he couldn't deny that she was a kind person. She even complimented his mother, and it seemed sincere.
''You want to keep it?'' Now Isla did not expect to hear that from him. Her Damien, who smiles at everyone, but kept them at a distance from them apart from her and the Baron's family, wanted to keep the necklace of someone who he met today. He didn't seem to want it in her possession.
