I knew today will be my doomsday.
Mom looked pissed. She'll probably murder me today. I shakily took my steps towards her while my head hanging low.
'God! Save me! I'm too young to die!' I thought. I chewed on lips until I tasted blood on my tongue. My steps were slow but I was heading towards my 'mom' to technically die.
"Is this a time to come back home?" She gritted her teeth.
'Home? I feel ashamed to call it that!' I wanted to say. But I held myself back.
"ANSWER ME!" She yelled. I flinched at the sudden outburst. In the next moment, I felt hand collide with my right cheek, causing me to groan and fall on the floor with a loud thud. I cupped my cheek with my hand as tears made their way to my eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you? Listen to me or get your fucking ass out of this fucking household." She growled. Tears threatened to fall off my eyes.
"I'm sorry. Please forgive me." I said quietly.
SLAP!
This time it was harder. I felt something warm roll down my chin. I ran my finger on my chin to check and I saw blood. My lips are busted.
"I swear to fucking God, next time you come here late, you won't be able to see the next morning sun." She threatened. "Now, get the fuck out of my house!" I didn't waste anymore time and slung my bag on my shoulder, heading out of the house with a bruise on my cheek and busted lips.
I was mindlessly walking back to my apartment. I was tired, hungry and moreover, extremely hurt. Not just physically but mentally too.
Just because I'm alone, this doesn't mean I don't want love or attention. These two things are something, I crave but instead, I get hate and ignorance.
"You know one thing, Hazel?" I say to myself through the mirror as I saw tear stains and bruises on my pale skin. "You're a complete disappointment and stigma to your family. This is a reason, no one likes you. Let alone love. Tsk! You should be rotting in hell."
After taking a quick shower, I wore something comfortable and laid down on my bed after plugging my phone in the charger. I was hungry but at the same time I wasn't.
I decided to just sleep. Starving myself for once won't hurt.
Author's POV...
The dark night sky was burned down by the morning sun as it came up. The sun ray peeked through Hazel's ivory white curtains, falling on her face, making her groan and flutter her hazel eyes open.
"Ouf- Another day! I wish I died." She murmured under her breath. She dragged herself to the bathroom and did her morning routine. She wasn't feeling hungry, so quickly dressed up for uni and went outside after tying up her converse shoe lace and wearing a mask to cover her bruises.
Her mind was blank as she walked to her university campus. Boys and girls were bustling around, shouting and laughing loudly. Hazel didn't seem to care to spare a glance at them. She kept walking until she bumped into a broad, toned chest. She stumbled back and apologised, not even looking up the at person.
"Hazel?" The person called. Hazel heard a familiar voice, so she looked up and saw-
"Axel?" She was surprised.
"Hi. I couldn't recognize because of your mask. Why are you wearing it though?" Hazel felt tears brim on the rim of her eyes as she stared at the hazel eyes boy in front. "Hazel? Are you okay?" Axel was concerned.
"Axel I-"
"Wanna talk about it?"
-
"WHAT KIND OF BITCH ASS FUCKERY IS THIS THIS SHIT?!" Axel exclaimed, causing the people in the park to take a weird glance at them. Hazel facepalmed herself.
"Be quiet, dumbass. We are not alone here!" She whispered shouted before smacking the boy's head.
"OW! Sorry, but what kind of parent acts like this to her child?!" Axel was actually very surprised about this. His parents were quite loving and supportive towards him while Hazel's parents- You know it.
"Mine does." Hazel said bluntly.
"I- Nevermind... Um Hazel, I was thinking if you would like to visit mum and dad with me. I told my parents about you and they are dying to meet you." Axel offered, hoping the brown head girl will agree which she actually did.
"I would love to!" And with that they head to Axel's home to meet his parents after skipping university because, 'Just one day won't hurt.'
Axel pressed the doorbell and beautiful middle aged woman opened the door with a warm smile.
"Axel! You're home! How did your day go? And who is the beautiful young lady here?"
"Mom. She is Hazel Adair. The girl, I told you about." Axel introduced Hazel to his mom.
"Well hello, Darling! I'm Emmeline. You can call me Emma and Axel? You were absolutely right about her. She looked exactly like you. She literally doesn't have much difference!" Emma, Axel's mom exclaimed with a wide smile on her slightly wrinkled face.
"Thank you, Emma." It was a sweet moment until Hazel's stomach growled wildly after her nose was filled with a wonderful aroma. "I- I'm sorry." Hazel blushed furiously. Emma and Axel laughed.
"It's okay, sweetie. Come, let's have lunch together. Axel baby, call your dad." Emma led Hazel to her vast kitchen and made her sit on the stool by the counter top. "I'm so happy that you came, Hazel. Axel would always talk about you. Hazel is like this, Hazel is like that and so so. He really likes you."
"Surprisingly, I know. He is such a sweetheart! He would comfort me when I feel sad. He is really sweet."
"I know, right? He always wanted a sister. He also had one but she was kidnapped by some people in the hospital right after she was born. We could never find her. I miss her." Emma's tone cracked at the end. Hazel couldn't but go to her and hug her.
"It's okay, Emma. She'll come back soon. She deserves to come back." Hazel said in a comforting way. Emma smiled and stroked Hazel's hair away from her forehead.
"Thank you, Lovie..."
But did Axel or Hazel know that something was related between them other than their same appearances?
Yes, I was on hiatus all these months because of my work and I was quite stressed but I'm back!
